Chapter 20 Teasing

Mother Sun glanced at Old Lady Sun. When did she ever say rotten vegetable leaves? She was clearly talking about her daughter Ye Zi. Could it be that her mother was hard of hearing?

To prove that she had not heard wrong, she looked at her eldest sister-in-law, but her eldest sister-in-law was smiling. However, she knew Old Lady Sun's temper after all, so she blinked at Grandma Sun and shook her head.

"Mom, I've fed all the vegetable leaves to the chickens. There's nothing left."

"If you don't have any, then why are you nagging here? You have nothing to worry about. You didn't go home to cook, and you came here empty-handed. Do you think you can eat for free here? You have no brains at all."

"Even though we've split up, you still come here every day and don't mind being annoying. You're just stupid."

Mother Sun was so upset by the scolding from Old Lady Sun that she couldn't sit still. What had she done to anger God and man that she was so unwelcome?

I could only say rather aggrievedly: "Mom, then I will go back now?"

"Oh, if you don't go back, please stay like a piece of wood until dinner. Get lost."

"If someone saw those two cat tears, they would think I had done something to you."

Mother Sun stopped talking and couldn't sit still. She wiped her red eyes vigorously, got up and left immediately, forgetting the purpose of her visit to the old house.

"Mom, I'm going to see Third Aunt off."

Seeing that Old Lady Sun had no objection, Mrs. Sun chased after her out the door.

"Sister-in-law, don't take Mom's words to heart. They go in one ear and out the other. We forget them as soon as we hear them. Mom has been in a bad mood these past few days and always gets angry for no reason. No one in our family has been spared from being scolded."

Mrs. Sun held Mother Sun's arm and whispered in her ear to comfort her. Sure enough, after hearing what Mrs. Sun said, Mother Sun immediately asked:

"Really? Don't scare me, sister-in-law."

Originally, Old Lady Sun scolded her in front of her sister-in-law, and she felt ashamed that she couldn't hold her head up in front of her sister-in-law. But when she heard that others were also scolded, she felt much calmer.

Mrs. Sun bumped Sun's mother's shoulder and said unhappily, "With our relationship, do I get candy if I scare you?"

Sun's mother finally smiled, and Mrs. Sun continued, "You didn't see what happened yesterday. I was cooking like usual, but Mom said I used too much oil. She criticized me in front of my two younger siblings, and I was so angry that I felt like crying."

"What's wrong with mother? Why is she so angry?"

"What else can I do? Every woman goes through this. Haven't you seen elderly people who are unhappy and crying every day? Mom is still the best."

"My two younger siblings went to the mountains to collect firewood. I didn't win the fight, so I stayed behind. Sigh..."

Mother Sun understood and nodded in understanding, and the resentment in her heart disappeared.

In the words of later generations, it means menopause has arrived.

"How about you stay and sit for a while?"

Mrs. Sun wished that Mrs. Sun would stay so that she could share the heat. Everyone in the family was bitten all over the head and they wished they could take a detour and not stay with Mrs. Sun.

"No, my wife is still waiting for dinner."

Mother Sun waved her hands repeatedly to refuse. She was just kidding. She didn't dare to offend Old Lady Sun. She should stay away now and come back when Old Lady Sun returns to normal.

"Why are you so anxious? You have no sense of loyalty at all. You've only been here for a short time."

Mrs. Sun muttered to herself, but if it were her, she would also slip away quickly. She took a deep breath, adjusted the smile on her face, turned around and went in.

Old Mrs. Sun took a look and said "tsk" without saying anything. However, it still frightened Mrs. Sun so much that she sat down and rubbed the rice stalks with her head held high.

Old Mrs. Sun stood up suddenly and walked out the door.

"Mom, where are you going?"

"Why? Why should I report to you?" Old Mrs. Sun turned around, her face looking a little sad, tears about to come out.

"No one feeds my chickens, and I'm not allowed to feed them. None of you care about them."

None of these daughters-in-law are likable. They don't know how to read people's faces. They are nowhere to be found when they need help, and they stay around when they have nothing to do. They don't know what to do.

"How could that be? I'm just asking casually. Mom, go and get busy."

When Mrs. Sun saw Old Lady Sun crying, she cried out in her heart that she was wronged. She was afraid because she was not a worm in Old Lady Sun's stomach that could accurately grasp her thoughts.

Old Mrs. Sun snorted softly and walked quickly with her small feet.

"Don't ask, then don't ask!"

Mrs. Sun was rubbing the rice stalks hard when she was accidentally stung. She let out a strange cry, put down the rice stalks, put her finger in her mouth, and kicked the rice stalks that were in the way at her feet.

Mother Sun rushed into the fourth room and saw Sun Ye and Sun Miao picking up sticks.

Sun Ye only heard the door being slammed open with a "bang". It was Sun's mother. The small stick in her hand loosened and hit the small sticks on the ground. A group of small sticks loosened. It was Sun Miao's turn.

"Mom, what's wrong?"

Sun Ye stood up and walked towards his mother. How could he come out after such a short time? Usually, they would chat for two or three hours, but only half an hour today?

"Ye Zi, let's go home. Look, it's almost time for dinner. Dad and my brothers are waiting for us to eat."

Sun Ye felt that his mother's words were insincere and there was a hint of urgency in them. He could tell from the way she kept looking behind him.

Sun Ye hesitated and said, "Okay."

She was still somewhat reluctant in her heart, as she hadn't had enough fun yet.

Sun Miao just stared at him blankly. No way, you’re leaving just after arriving. Her little mouth pouted, looking unhappy.

After calming down for a while, Sun's mother noticed that the two children were unhappy, so she said to Sun Miao, "Miao Miao, come to my house and play."

Sun Miao nodded subconsciously, and the little mouth with the oil bottle hanging on it instantly opened into a grin.

"Third Aunt, wait a minute, I'll go get something."

After saying that, she ran into the inner room and rummaged through the drawers and cabinets. She found her treasure box, took out a small cloth bag, and put the toys she wanted to play with into it one by one, filling it up.

"Miaomiao, can you please let Auntie hold it? You and Ye Zi can go ahead."

Seeing Sun Miao nod, Sun's mother took it and slung it over her shoulder. It was quite heavy, and she didn't know what she was holding.

"Leaf! Let's go!"

Sun Miao dragged Sun Ye along as they rushed out of the old house. Sun Ye followed suit and yelled, "Charge!"

When Sun Ye is with Sun Miao, he seems like a different person, full of energy.

Sun's mother followed behind and shouted hurriedly: "Slow down, slow down, be careful not to fall."

Sun Ma's poisonous words were so powerful that Sun Miao tripped over a protruding stone and fell to his knees along with Sun Ye.

Sun Ye was stunned at that time. He mechanically turned his head to look at Sun Miao, then at Sun's mother, and burst out laughing.

Sun's mother rushed over and brushed the dust off the two of them, muttering to herself, "I told you to slow down, but you didn't listen. Now you're done for. Walk properly, look up at the sky, and keep your legs forward. If you don't fall, who will?"

Sun Ye and Sun Miao looked at each other, blinked, nodded, and counted silently in their hearts.

The two of them ran away, and strings of laughter spread from one end to the other. When Sun's mother saw it, she smiled helplessly, saying, "What naughty kids!"

When they got home and pushed open the gate, the house was empty and quiet. Seeing that Sun Ma had not appeared on the road yet, the two of them closed the door and hid behind it.

Sun Ye stood there and saw Sun Miao looking at the crack in the door from time to time. She didn't understand why Sun Miao was also making trouble. It wasn't right.

His heart was restless, as if he couldn't wait for Grandma Sun's arrival.

"Here I come, here I come."

"Where is it? Let me see."

Ignoring the melancholy in my heart, I hurriedly peeked through the crack of the door as soon as I heard it, "Hide well, don't move, or you'll be discovered."

"Then don't squeeze me, I'm about to be squeezed out by you."

"Okay, okay, come here."

The two people behind the door didn't dare to breathe, and their faces turned red.

As Grandma Sun approached, the footsteps became clearer and clearer. Grandma Sun didn't notice anything wrong at all. It had just rained and there was mud outside. As soon as she opened the door and saw the small footprints in the yard, she went to the side. What else was there to not know?

“Squeak!”

Mother Sun stepped in and her body gradually appeared in the sight of the two.

"Auntie!"

"mom!"

Sun Ye and Sun Miao jumped out at the same time and shouted at Sun Ma. Their voices were so loud that they scared Sun Ma back a few steps. Her ears were buzzing.

When Sun Ye and Sun Miao saw this, they thought their plan had succeeded. The laughter could even be heard by Sun Taohua's family next door.

"You two!..."

"Run! Auntie is coming!"

Sun Ye was inspired and ran away happily.

"Hey, do you still want your things? If not, I'll throw them away."

The older you get, the wiser you become. Mother Sun shook the cloth bag in her hand. She didn't believe that the two little brats wouldn't come back, so she just sat there and waited peacefully.

The two people who were running for a distance heard the almost devilish whispers and slowly stopped running.

"Ye Zi, that's your mother, go get her, okay?"

"Sister Miaomiao, my mom will definitely not do anything to you, please go get it."

The two men's eyes fought in the air, as if a burst of crackling sparks were ignited all around, and neither of them would give in.

"Let's duel."

"Come!"

The two men pretended to roll up their arms, spit, took a step back, and took up their positions, staring at both sides, and a battle was about to break out.

The wind blew a leaf, which swayed and fell between the two of them, landing lightly on the ground.

"Rock, Paper, Scissors!"

Great, both scissors, a draw.

It seems he is an expert!

With his hands hidden behind his back, he looked around in circles.

"Rock, Paper, Scissors!"

Sun Ye still played scissors, and Sun Miao played cloth. Seeing that he lost, Sun Miao slapped his opponent in the face, and when he took the slap away, he strode towards Sun's mother with a heroic look.

Sun Ye smiled proudly. When playing games, she, Niuhulu Sun Ye, was not afraid at all. She didn't even know how to write the word "lose".

Soon, Sun Miao ran towards Sun Ye with the small cloth bag, turning left and right in front of Sun Ye, afraid that Sun Ye didn't see him. His little head with a ponytail was raised high towards the sky, leaving only two black nostrils.

Sun Ye wanted to tease Sun Miao, so he deliberately said, "Sister Miao Miao, there is a big black booger in your nostrils."

Sun Miao froze for a moment and looked down at Sun Ye. Sun Ye nodded with an expression that said, "I won't lie to you."

Sun Miao seemed to believe it, and her face slowly turned red. Although she was usually not particular about trivial matters, she still felt a little embarrassed at this moment.

She slowly raised her little finger, reached in and felt around, but found nothing.

Sun Ye quickly said, "You're wrong. It's not this one, it's the other one."

Sun Miao changed his nostril, but still there was nothing, clean and spotless.

“Hahahahahahahahahahahaha.”

Sun Ye on the other end couldn't hold back and burst out laughing.

"Ahhh! Sun Ye Zi, stop right there!"

Sun Miao roared and chased Sun Ye around the yard.
