Chapter 22: Demonstrating Divine Power

"Well, I'll just leave this basket of pig grass and come find you, okay?"

Sun Taohua's timid voice slowly sounded, with obvious nervousness in her eyes.

Sun Ye nodded and added, "Come after you have dinner. There's no need to be so anxious."

"Ohhh, okay."

Sun Taohua's face turned red, and she realized that she was a little too anxious. Tears started to fall again. She quickly wiped them away, picked up the basket and ran home.

Sun Ye bumped into Sun Miao's shoulder and rolled his eyes. He was not in the mood to play anymore and went home.

Sun Miao touched the tip of his nose guiltily, ran forward, took Sun Ye's hand, and said, "Ye Zi, look, if there are more people we can throw sandbags, right?"

Sun Ye shook her head and said nothing. In fact, she was not that petty. She just wanted to cure Sun Miao's bad habit of speaking without thinking. She couldn't regret it afterwards, so she had to teach her a lesson.

"Where have you been? It's time for dinner!"

"I didn't go anywhere, just strolled around."

"Ye Zi, after dinner, go up the mountain with your dad and the others to collect some firewood."

"ah?"

"But we made an appointment to play with Taohua."

"What are you playing for? A half-grown girl would just play around all day. When your brothers were your age, they chopped wood and fed pigs, and did everything. What about you?"

The two brothers Sun Sen and Sun Lin, who were named, looked up at their mother while eating and gave Sun Ye a look that said "May you be lucky."

Sun Ye turned around and looked at her father pitifully. Her father coughed dryly and said, "Ye Zi is still young. It's okay to pamper a girl a little more."

"What do you mean by 'small'? Look at all the girls in the village who are her age. They are all very capable. Just now I asked her to sweep the yard, and she disappeared as soon as I turned around. She ran to the back hillside screaming and howling. What a mess!"

"No matter who comes today, it won't work. Sun Xuejun, you are the same. You just pamper her to the point of being completely crazy."

Sun Miao listened with her head down. She was of her age and really didn't do much housework. And what was wrong with these two people? They were so angry. Her grandmother was like this, and her third aunt was also like this. It was terrible.

"Mom, I can explain why I'm sweeping the floor. The mud is hard to sweep when it's wet. I'll definitely sweep it clean once it dries."

Sun Ye quickly assured her, "Has Sun's mother eaten explosives today? She's scolding everyone she catches."

After hearing this, Sun's mother glanced at Sun Ye and told him to go up the mountain in the afternoon and not to slip away again.

After dinner, Sun Ye and Sun Miao went next door to say that they couldn’t play anymore and had to go up the mountain.

Dad Sun picked up an axe and a rope, and the family of five plus Sun Miao went up the mountain.

Now the trees for building the house are cut down and exposed to the sun, so they can be used after the autumn harvest. The men in the family all go out to work and help in any way they can.

When Sun Ye arrived at the location, he saw that four or five trees had already been cut down. He trimmed the branches and dragged them back to the homestead to dry in the sun.

"Xiuzhen, you brought Ye Zi and the others here as well." asked Sun Miao's mother.

"Yeah, I have nothing to do at home, so I'm full of energy. I come here to let it out so I don't have to worry about where to put it."

“That’s a good feeling.”

Sun Ye and her colleagues’ task was to bundle the pruned branches and carry them back home.

There were no gloves at that time, and Sun Ye, who was naturally strong, didn't think it was a big deal. But it was hard for Sun Miao, as she couldn't even tie the firewood. She could only arrange the firewood neatly and let Sun Ye tie it up.

"Sister Miaomiao, you pick it up first. I'll go help my mom and the others trim it."

For the first time, Sun Ye felt the benefit of her own strength. Seeing that Sun's mother was chopping with great effort, she also wanted to try it. There were no outsiders here, only her uncles, aunts and daughters.

"Mom, let me try."

Mother Sun glanced at her daughter and seeing that she was sincere, she let her try, so that she could understand how difficult it is to be an adult.

"Okay, be careful and don't cut yourself."

Mother Sun stood up, wiped the sweat from her forehead, and handed the scimitar to Sun Ye.

Sun Ye swung the knife, found the right strength, bent down and spread his legs, and chopped branches like the adults.

"In a flash, huh?" He used too much force, and the branch, as thick as his arm, was chopped off in one fell swoop.

Is it that simple? It doesn't seem to be much effort.

Next it’s Sun Ye’s performance time.

Each blow he made to cut a tree branch was done cleanly and neatly, without any hesitation. The scimitar was swung to create a double image, and the sound of "crackling" could be heard continuously.

The aunts around looked at each other, then turned to look at the knives in their own hands, and a thought flashed through their minds: that knife must be very sharp and can cut iron like mud.

Mother Sun was completely stunned. She just wanted Sun Ye to try it, but this was not the way to try it.

She rubbed her eyes in disbelief. Well, her eyesight was not blurry because of old age. The leaves were indeed "playing" with the branches.

Sun Ye finished pruning a tree and was about to move on to another one, but when he looked up, he saw that the people around him were like wooden figures, not moving at all.

Only the corners of his mouth were twitching slightly. The forest was too quiet. The sounds of the fathers cutting trees in the distance were clear and distinct, and even the sounds of Sun Miao moving branches were amplified several times.

"Ye Zi, can we exchange knives?"

Aunt Sun took the first step. She felt that it must be a problem with the knife, and definitely not hers.

Sun Ye handed over the scimitar without noticing anything and exchanged it with Aunt Sun Si.

Aunt Sun deliberately spat on the knife handle, glanced at the shiny blade in front of her, and then looked at the tree branch under her feet.

He took a deep breath, tightened his abdomen, leaned back, leaned forward, and chopped hard. Very good, two-thirds of the branch went in at once. He quickly added a few shadowless kicks and the branch broke!

She said, "It must be the knife." Look, it broke with one cut, didn't it? Ignoring the process, she only cut it once.

Fourth Aunt Sun sighed, her arms trembling slightly, but she held them back, still feeling a bit of pain. She looked at everyone with a certain amount of pride, but they all looked up at the sky, down at the ground. No one poured cold water on her, but their actions were still chilling, making her feel awkward.

"No, what do you mean? Look, I cut it off with one sword."

Everyone nodded and said you are great, but they didn't mean it.

Aunt Sun's forced attention diverted a lot of attention, and there was gratitude in Sun's mother's eyes.

"Fourth sister-in-law, give it a try and watch me."

Mrs. Sun Er was not to be outdone. She took the machete and used even greater force than Aunt Sun Si. Plus, the branch had already been chopped several times, so after one cut, only a little bit of skin was left hanging.

Sun Ersao held her head high, ignoring the fingers that kept stretching out. Everything was perfect.

Aunt Sun Si didn't know how many times the branch had been chopped, and she really thought that Sister Sun Er had cut it with one stroke, so she couldn't help but give Sister Sun Er a thumbs up.

Then he smiled ambiguously, walked towards Sun Ersao, drew out his scimitar, and asked her to put the hand that had just chopped the tree together with Sun Ersao's, and the two hands kept shaking together.

"Second sister-in-law, I thought you weren't in pain. Look at our hands, hahaha."

Mrs. Sun pulled her hand away, angrily speaking as calmly as possible: "It's rare for me to show off my skills, and you exposed me. What are you thinking?"

"Yo yo yo, I miss you so much."

Fourth Aunt Sun performed exaggeratedly, holding Second Aunt Sun's hands tightly with both hands and placing them on her chest.

"Puchi!" Sun Ersao couldn't help but burst out laughing.

"Go, go, go, think about your fourth brother. Do you miss me? I'm afraid your fourth brother will get jealous and punish you until you cry for your parents at night."

Sun Ersao's words made Sun Sisao blush. She spat at Sun Ersao lightly, picked up the machete on the ground and prepared to work.

When Sun Ersao said this, Sun Ye, Sun Ma and Sun Sishen were present and heard it. Sun Ma smiled and turned around to see her daughter staring at the two of them intently.

He hurriedly said, "Hey, you are already an old lady, please be careful with your words, the child is here."

Seeing that only Sun Ye was there, Auntie Sun came over, squatted down and said, "Ye Zi, did you hear anything just now?"

Sun Ye looked around, her eyes rolled slightly, and she opened her mouth softly: "I didn't hear anything, it's just that you missed Second Aunt, and Second Aunt is going to punish you tonight."

Aunt Sun Si and Mrs. Sun Er were stunned. They looked at each other, shook off the goose bumps on their bodies, and couldn't help but look away.

"Ye Zi, you heard wrong. Auntie is not missing your second aunt. Fourth Auntie is missing us Ye Zi. She wants to go home and give us Ye Zi some delicious food."

"Really?"

"It has to be true. When has Fourth Aunt ever lied to you, right?"

"good."

Aunt Sun Si gave Aunt Sun Ersao a look that said it was done, and they both breathed a sigh of relief.

Mother Sun was at a loss for words. She knew her own child well and thought that this might be a trick to extort money from Fourth Aunt Sun. She reached out and tapped Sun Ye's forehead.

Sun Ye pursed his lips, smiled, and put his hands behind his back. He looked so proud, showing his bossy demeanor.

As for the heroic feat of a little kid like Sun Ye chopping down a tree single-handedly, everyone kept it to themselves and buried it deep in their hearts.

Sun Ye continued to bundle her firewood. Everyone did their own work, chatting and laughing, and it was already late.

Sun's mother suddenly asked Sun Ye a question, seemingly casually: "Ye Zi, will it rain tomorrow?"

Upon hearing this, Sun Ye looked up at the sky reflexively and said, "Tomorrow will be a fine day, with the sun shining brightly."

"Are you confused? You're asking a kid this question. Do you see those rosy clouds in the sky? Tomorrow will definitely be a fine day."

Aunt Sun was just about to carry the firewood when she heard this and said this without hesitation.

"Isn't that confusing? Hehehe."

"Be serious, your laughter is scary!"

When Mother Sun heard this, she laughed even harder. Fourth Aunt Sun grabbed a handful of dirt and threw it at her, saying "Pooh".

Sun Ye also carried firewood in a small basket, and her mother filled it with a few pieces of firewood as a token of her gratitude.

But Sun Ye took advantage of Sun Ma's inattention and added a lot more into it. It was full, the amount that Sun Sen and the others had to carry, maybe even more.

First, adjust the straps, lift it with both hands, weigh it, and lift the basket a few inches off the ground.

Sun Ye nodded secretly. This weight was acceptable. Any more would be too obvious, although she could carry it.

"Ye Zi, Mom will hold you and turn you around."

Sun Ye quickly held down Sun Ma's hand. "Just kidding, if I let Sun Ma hold it, wouldn't it be exposed? She's not even carrying any firewood."

"Mom, I can do it myself, I can do it myself!"

"Can you do it?"

"Of course I can! If not, you can just help me."

"All right."

Sun Ye sat on the ground, put the backpack on his back, and seemed to carry it very easily.

But if you look at the two brothers still crawling on the ground, you will know that it is not that simple.

Everything is: strong enough to break it!
