Chapter 59 Shuimu University

More than half a month has passed since the college entrance examination, and there is still no news of the results. The Sun family has gone from being restless at first to being calm and composed now.

Sun Ye didn't know about others, but she herself was not anxious at all. Perhaps it was her attitude of "whatever happens" that influenced Sun Sen. Apart from his initial decadence and depression, he became a steady and reliable elder brother.

As for what he was thinking, one could get some clues from his usual movements, but he was just hiding it in his heart.

After filling out the college entrance examination application form, Sun Ye's first choice was naturally Shuimu University, where his teacher worked. I believe that all students have such a dream in their hearts: to be admitted to Shuimu University.

Today, Sun Ye went to work with his mother, going to the north hillside to pick the last few autumn peppers. He couldn't just sit around doing nothing after the exam.

The autumn peppers are most delicious at this time, so pick them for the last time, pull them up by the roots, and they will be a good material for starting a fire.

Sun Ye grabbed them one by one, held the pepper stalks tightly, pulled out a large handful effortlessly, put them aside, and continued to repeat the previous action.

Sun Ye quickly pulled out all the peppers in a row, picked them up and placed them at the edge of the field. The peppers grew irregularly, and if you were not careful when picking them up, they would easily hit your face. This was a lesson Sun Ye learned the hard way.

Just look at the red mark on Sun Ye's face and you will know how painful it is to sweep someone. This time, Sun Ye deliberately tilted his head and glanced at the road ahead with slanted eyes, for fear of falling if he was not careful.

After all, she had just seen from afar an old lady tripped by a chili stalk. Fortunately, nothing happened and the old lady continued to work as usual, but she couldn't help muttering and cursing.

Sun Ye didn't feel tired while working. He breathed a sigh of relief, grabbed a handful of dry grass and put it under his butt, pulled a basket over, and started picking peppers one by one.

In December, there is not much important work to do, so the women chat and gossip while working.

While working, Sun Ye pricked up his ears and listened quietly. When he heard something absurd, he couldn't help but turn his head and laugh secretly.

Suddenly, a small car appeared on the road. It was a small car, a car rarely seen in the town, and it appeared in front of the advancing team so casually.

The "humming" sound of the car attracted everyone's attention. They stopped what they were doing and kept looking around. Sun Ye was no exception.

Sun Ye only saw the car parked at the intersection of the brigade. This was because the brigade had repaired the road, so the car could enter.

The children gathered around the car, standing far away and gesturing at the car with their hands. One could feel their surprise and excitement from the way they danced and danced as if they wanted to jump up.

More and more people gathered around the car, and Sun's mother was a little eager to try. She put down the work in her hands and stood at the edge of the street looking over there.

"Aunt San, is that a car?"

"It should be. We saw one when we went to the market. It's exactly the same as this one. It seems that this one is even better than the other one."

"What's the purpose of this car coming to our place? Is it someone's relative?"

"Why don't I know who in our brigade has such a rich relative?"

Several women gathered together and talked non-stop. The speakers were unintentional, but the listeners were intentional. Sun Ye's heart shuddered. No family in the team had such relatives, but there were some in the educated youth camp, especially the professors from the capital.

Could it be that they are here to pick up the teachers and others?

Sun Ye knew from the beginning that the Forward Brigade could not trap the teachers and others, and sooner or later they would return to their original place to shine.

But I didn’t expect it to come so early. The New Year hasn’t even come yet.

The captain ran over hurriedly from a distance, pushed through the crowd and walked towards the car door.

The car door opened, and he was dressed very well, in a neat Mao suit, with his hair combed neatly without a single strand out of place, and wearing a pair of glasses, looking very refined.

The captain talked with the man for a while. Sun Ye didn't have a good hearing ability and was too far away to hear what they said.

The team leader glanced around the edges of the fields and shouted, "Aunt Xiuzhen, Uncle Xuejun, come over here quickly! They're here to deliver the admission letter to your son Ye Zi!"

"Aunt Xiuzhen, Uncle Xuejun, Ye Zi's notice has arrived."

"Ye Zi's notice is here!"

Sun's mother was stunned on the spot. It was Ye Zi's notice that arrived. She was pulled back to her senses by someone else, and she grabbed Sun Ye and ran towards the intersection.

Sun Ye never knew that her mother had such strong explosive power, and she could hardly keep up.

Dad Sun also ran over from the other side. After hearing the noise, Old Mrs. Sun and Old Man Sun also hurried over. The whole family came.

"Here they come, here they come, these are Sun Ye's parents, Sun Xuejun and Wang Xiuzhen."

"I'm... I'm Sun Ye's grandmother. My son Ye's admission letter has arrived. Did he get into university?"

On the way, Old Lady Sun had heard others say this several times, but she still couldn't help but ask.

"Yes, old lady, Sun Ye was admitted to a good university, Shuimu University."

When Sun Ye heard those thin lips uttering the words she had always dreamed of, little fireworks went off in her mind with excitement, but there was not much expression on her face. To others, it seemed that he was calm and composed, and could withstand any hardship.

"Student Sun Ye, congratulations on being admitted to Shuimu University. Not only that, you are also the top student in our province and ranked tenth in the country."

Sun Ye didn't feel anything about the ranking at the end. She had deliberately made mistakes in a few questions, so the points deducted were certain.

People are afraid of being famous, just like pigs are afraid of being fat. I didn't expect to achieve such results. Sun Ye accepted everyone's jaw-dropping gazes and said calmly:

"Thank you, leader. Everything is thanks to my teacher."

The leader was even more satisfied after hearing this. Regardless of how young Sun Ye was, the news that he had been admitted to university was great news for others. He had already prepared himself for the young comrade to be so excited that he could not speak.

Unexpectedly, the fact is just the opposite: heroes emerge from youth, and women are as good as men.

"Boss, it's cold outside. Let's go to my house and have a bowl of hot water to warm up."

Accompanied by the team leader, the group walked towards Sun Ye's house in a mighty manner.

Sun Ye was held by his mother's hand. Along the way, people kept greeting his mother and asking about Sun Ye's grades. His mother was grinning from ear to ear and held her head high. Old Mrs. Sun also looked the same.

Sun Ye couldn't help but smile. She liked this feeling. The whole family was happy and proud of her. It was a bit of a show-off. This was the only time in her life, and Sun Ye rarely smiled.

Sun Ye wanted to help boil water but was stopped by Old Lady Sun. Old Lady Sun winked at Aunt Sun who was walking in front. Aunt Sun immediately understood what Old Lady Sun meant and went into the kitchen to light a fire and boil water.

A group of people sat in the main hall of Sun Ye's house, and the yard was also full of children standing in groups of three or four.

Sun Ye looked at the scene in front of her and felt that it was inexplicably familiar. She slapped her head and thought, isn't this just like the last time she took the high school diploma exam?

This is still during working hours. If it was after work, Sun Ye could be sure that there would be even more people.

Maybe there would be people coming and going at night? Sun Ye's heart skipped a beat when he thought of this.

There were two people who got off the car. Sun Ye was sure that one of them followed the lead of the middle-aged man in the Zhongshan suit.

"Leader, how many points did my daughter Ye Zi get in the exam?"

"Sun Ye's score was very high. The total score was 400, and Sun Ye scored a high score of 382. He only lost 18 points in four subjects. It's really amazing."

Sun Ye didn't need to say anything at this moment, just smile. She couldn't get a word in. After Sun's mother asked a question, Old Lady Sun continued to ask, leaving no room for conversation.

"Student Sun Ye did so well in the exam, our province will also give him a reward."

Upon hearing this, the whole room fell silent. Everyone wanted to know what the reward was. It was a good thing that there was a reward for taking the college entrance exam.

"This is fifteen yuan and a thermos. They are rewards for classmate Sun Ye."

The middle-aged leader put the money on the table. The colorful bills were particularly eye-catching and immediately caught everyone's attention.

After hearing this, Sun Ye felt relieved. She had been worried that if she went to school, the family would not have enough money to make ends meet. With this scholarship, she could finally relax a little.

"This is a reward from the province. The rewards from the city and county haven't arrived yet, but I believe they will be distributed in a few days."

Everyone was stunned. They could get money for studying, and it happened more than once. This surprise was really huge.

Mother Sun covered her mouth tightly, afraid that she would scream out in excitement and lose face. Tears welled up in her eyes, tears of excitement.

Sun Ye pinched the corner of his mother's clothes, looked at the expressions of the crowd who were not quite happy for her, and no longer suppressed his true feelings. He grinned and laughed silently.

"Leader, how are my Sun Sen's grades? Did he get into university?"

The middle-aged leader was taken aback, obviously not expecting that there would be two college entrance examination candidates in this family, but he still answered Sun Ma's question calmly:

"Auntie, I'm not sure about this yet. I have to wait for the notification from the county or town. Don't worry, if you pass the exam, the postman will personally deliver it to your door."

When Mrs. Sun heard this, she swallowed her words about asking Sun Lan about her grades.

"That's right, Aunt San. There are so many college entrance examination candidates, how can the leaders remember them all? Even our elementary school teachers may not remember all the final grades of our students." The team leader explained.

"That's true, that's true."

The two leaders did not stay long. They announced the news, drank a bowl of hot water, and left in a hurry.

Sun's mother wanted to keep the people here for a meal but she refused, saying that she would not take a single needle, thread, piece of clothing or food from the farmers.

The admission notice was in the hands of Old Lady Sun. Sun Ye knew at this moment that she must be the last person to touch the admission notice, because others were older than her.

Sun Sen patted Sun Ye's shoulder. Sun Ye turned around and heard Sun Sen say, "Congratulations, little sister!"

Sun Ye restrained his expression and said, "Brother, don't worry, the notice will come."

"Then I'll borrow your good words."

Sun Sen shrugged, with no expression of jealousy on his face. Instead, he was genuinely happy for Sun Ye.

"My dear grandson, come here and take a look at your acceptance letter."

Sun Ye smiled at Sun Sen, then turned and walked towards Old Lady Sun, nestled in her arms, and looked at the notice together.

The paper was slightly stiff, but of excellent quality, and was stamped with the official seal of Mizuki University.

The name Sun Ye is written in a very distinctive way, which is unrestrained and has a very personal style.

The school date listed in the notice is a little early. School officially starts on February 18th, which means Sun Ye has to leave on the fifth or sixth day of the first lunar month. He has to use the rest of the days to travel because he can't be late.

"Oh, you see, I'm so happy that I forgot. Third brother, go, quickly go to the supply and marketing cooperative in town and buy two strings of firecrackers. How can we have such a happy occasion without firecrackers?"

"Okay, Mom, I'll go right away!"

As for the question of whether to go to work or not, I have completely forgotten it. How can I remember it?

The team leader didn't bring up this topic at this time. He went out with Sun's father. He still had things to worry about. If the educated youth were admitted to university, he couldn't stop them from leaving. Besides, he couldn't stop them.

But if the educated youth left the school, there would be no one to teach the children how to read and write, which was a major event that would affect their entire lives. He hoped that all the children in the Qianjin Brigade would be like Sun Ye, be admitted to university, and have a good future.

"Mom, grandma, I'm going to the educated youth site."

"Yes, yes, we should go, but Ye Zi, you should change your clothes first."

Sun Ye looked down at his clothes, which were covered in dirt, probably from when he was holding the peppers. He then looked at his hands, which were the same, with dirt even in the cracks between his fingernails.

He quickly washed his hands, went into the house to change into clean clothes, and then went to the educated youth site.

When she passed by the main hall, she heard her grandmother still praising her. This must be what it means for Wenquxing to come down to earth. It is something that only exists in heaven and not on earth.

She walked quickly through the main room and listened to the rest of the story. She couldn't guarantee that she wouldn't get carried away. It was really because her grandmother was so good at praising people, and her compliments were always different and never repeated.

When Sun Ye pushed open the gate of the educated youth center, he suddenly remembered that the teacher should be in the research institute. It seemed a bit impolite to turn around and go to the institute, especially if he was discovered by Grandma Lin.

"Ye Zi? Ye Zi, come in quickly."

"Yeah, okay."

Grandma Lin and Grandma Guo were cooking lunch at the moment. When Sun Ye saw this, she went into the kitchen to light the fire. After all, this was the only thing she could do, and the other two grandmas didn't let her do it.

They knew Sun Ye's craftsmanship, and it was Sun's mother who spread it to them. The taste was so wonderful and wonderful.

After eating it, you can jump three times in one step!

"Ye Zi, what brings you here? You should be working in the fields right now, how come you have time to come here?"

Grandma Lin did not interfere with her work while talking. She had skillful knife skills and chopped the pickled vegetables into thin pieces in just a few "swishes". If you smelled carefully, you could smell the unique fragrance of pickled vegetables in the air.

"Oh, it's like this, Grandma Lin, I got into university!"

"Got into university? Really? The results are out today? Which university? Have you received the acceptance letter?"

The two old men then stopped what they were doing, turned around, and stared at Sun Ye without blinking.

"I just found out not long ago. The leader who delivered the letter just left a short while ago and came in a car."

"Grandma Lin, Grandma Guo, I was admitted to Shuimu University and became the top scorer in the province!"

Sun Ye wanted to share her joy with them. Several elderly people at the educated youth site were also people who witnessed her growth. They were not her family but better than family.

"Oh wow, that's weird. Ye Zi is really amazing. Is this from Shuimu University, right?"

"Yes, I saw it myself."

"So that commotion just now was about delivering the notice. I thought something else had happened."

"Ye Zi, you are really good."

“Hehehe!”

"I don't have anything good in my pocket. Ye Zi, wait here. Grandma will go into the house to get you something to eat to celebrate. It's a great thing!"

"Grandma Guo, no need, no need. I just came here to tell you the good news. Nothing else is needed."

"Then hurry up and go to the research institute and tell your teacher. Don't delay any longer."

"Grandma Lin, don't you like me anymore? Why are you chasing me away?" Sun Ye joked leisurely. She was so happy that she almost flew up.

"You little bitch! How could I chase you away? Well, stay as long as you want. Don't leave."

Grandma Guo and Grandma Lin smiled at each other and let Sun Ye show off.

Sun Ye pouted and stamped his feet, then couldn't help but smile again on his tense face.

Forget it, forget it, she just makes the fire.

"Alright, alright, Ye Zi, go ahead. We're here, aren't you afraid there's no one to light the fire?"

Sun Ye thought so too, and went to the research institute. When he walked out of the door, he seemed to hear Grandma Lin say, "Look at her, she was told to leave but she was stubborn and refused to leave. Now look at her small steps, she is walking so happily."

Sun Ye was embarrassed and slowed down his pace, trying to act as usual. There was a burst of laughter behind him. Sun Ye shook his head. It was true that there was something to talk about no matter what he did.

I just followed my wish and continued my cheerful pace. This way I felt comfortable.

"Brother Lin, where is the teacher?"

Sun Ye's sudden voice startled Lin Qianjin, and the stroke of the word he was writing became crooked. He turned around and looked at the culprit: Sun Ye in a bad mood.

He patted his chest exaggeratedly and said, "Xiao Ye Zi, do you know that scaring others can kill them? My heart is about to jump out of my chest."

Sun Ye shook his head as a matter of course and said, "Brother Lin, stop pretending. We've known each other for a long time. I don't believe that the volume of my voice can scare you."

"Xiao Ye Zi has grown up and can no longer be deceived. Poor my throbbing young heart!"

Sun Ye uttered a "vomit" sound and immediately took a step away from Lin Qianjin. Not a single day was normal for him.

Well, she'll go find it herself. After all, she's in the research institute. She won't argue with Brother Lin anymore, and she can't show off anything, otherwise people will think her IQ has dropped.

"Ye Zi, what did you mean by that action just now?"

"It doesn't mean anything, that's what I mean!"

Sun Ye didn't even turn his head, stretched out a hand and waved, no longer arguing with Lin Qianjin, and went to the laboratory to see if the teacher was in there.

Sun Ye looked inside and found that Teacher Liu was there. He found him right away.

"teacher."

"Oh, it's a leaf?"

Without waiting for Professor Liu to ask any questions, Sun Ye stated his purpose for coming. "Teacher, I was admitted to Shuimu University. The admission letter just arrived today. I'm majoring in agriculture."

"Okay! Okay!"

Professor Liu clapped his hands and smiled. Since they were from Shuimu University, they might be teacher and student.

Professor Liu has received notice that he will leave for Shuimu University to teach before the New Year. It doesn't matter if he goes there, but he feels a little sorry for Sun Ye. It would be a shame if such a talented person like Sun Ye was left to wander outside without being promoted.

Sun Ye walked around and told almost everything he needed to know, then headed home. It was time for lunch, and smoke was rising from every household.

Sun Ye took a long detour and saw some children looking at her with curiosity, but not coming close to look.

"It's Ye Zi. Have you eaten yet? Do you want to have a meal at my aunt's house?"

When Sun Ye passed by a house, the hostess greeted him warmly.

Sun Ye quickly shook his head and said, "Auntie, I won't eat anymore. My mother is still waiting for me at home. You guys should eat quickly."

The host gave Sun Ye some words of advice and that was it. Sun Ye breathed a sigh of relief.

But this was not a coincidence. Five of the six houses Sun Ye passed by invited her to dinner, and the remaining house was where she had not yet returned home.

This enthusiasm was too much to bear. Sun Ye felt both pain and joy. He finally reached the door of his home. This journey had never been so difficult for Sun Ye before.

"Mom, I'm back!"

"Let's eat when you get back!"

Sun Ye took a look and saw that only Mrs. Sun and Mr. Sun were left at home. The rest of the uncles and aunts were nowhere to be seen.

"Mom, where are Fourth Aunt and the others?"

"Of course they'll go home for dinner, and then come here as a family to celebrate in the evening."

Old Lady Sun picked up an egg with chopsticks and put it in Sun Ye's bowl, saying, "You've worked hard studying, Ye Zi. Eat more eggs to replenish your body."

Sun Ye was at a loss whether to laugh or cry. He accepted Old Lady Sun's kindness and ate it in two or three bites.

When she went back to work in the afternoon, Sun Ye found that many people were looking at her. Sun's mother was popular wherever she went. When she spoke, it seemed as if everyone was listening attentively.

Sun Ye kept smiling politely. It was right to smile. Everything could be solved with a smile. Sun's mother was in the lead in everything. Only Sun's mother could boast and tie with these old ladies.

As for Dad Sun, he should be in town now and doesn't have to go to work in the afternoon.

Finally the bell for work rang and the crowd dispersed. Sun Ye continued to pick the peppers that she had not finished picking in the morning.

Mother Sun was very happy that afternoon. She was smiling from ear to ear, and the wrinkles at the corners of her eyes did not affect her good mood.

Sun Ye worked until the end of the day, and spent the whole afternoon pulling and picking peppers. The children rushed to take the peppers she handled back to the team.

Its popularity has reached a new level, and it has become a special mascot!

When I got home from work, everyone in the family, regardless of gender, age or status, was in the yard.

"Ye Zi, congratulations!"

Sun Miao grinned widely, flew over and hugged Sun Ye. Sun Ye almost lost his balance and took a few steps back before he could stand firm.

Sister Miaomiao has been giving her big hugs every day for ten years, and it has become a conditioned reflex. It's just that the impact is a bit too great for such a big person, and she can't withstand it.

"You don't need such a big gift to congratulate me. I'll feel better if you stand and congratulate me."

"How can I show my specialness if I don't hug like this, don't you think?"

"Yes, yes, you are right!"

The two chatted and bickered for a while before parting ways. Sun Lan then came forward and said with a smile, "Congratulations, Ye Zi!"

But Sun Ye looked at that smile and felt a little lonely, hidden between his brows, and he couldn't be happy.

"Thank you, Sister Lanlan."

After the three girls exchanged greetings, it was the boy's turn to come forward and congratulate them. Sun Ye could now see that this was all planned in advance.

Sun Ye and the others were chatting and bragging in the yard. Sun He and the second brother from the second house talked the most. The more they talked, the more excited they became. Sun Ye thought of a word to describe them: birds of a feather flock together!

It was dark when Dad Sun finally came back. He was exhausted and sweating in the cold weather.

After hanging the firecrackers on the gate of the yard, Dad Sun took out a match and lit the firecrackers.

In an instant, a burst of crackling firecrackers spread, and Sun Ye could still feel the deafening noise even with his ears covered.

A few young boys cheered and were about to go over to pick it up. Sun Miao was no less than them.

Sun Ye and Sun Lan stood together a little distance away from the firecrackers, both of them smiling.

After a celebratory meal and a quick chat, everyone went home. However, Sun Miao had a problem and didn't want to go home. She said that Ye Zi would soon fly away and she wouldn't be able to see him anymore, so he should stick with her for a while while he was still around.

Fourth Aunt couldn't persuade Sun Miao, so she had to agree. Sun Ye had no objection at all. She also wanted to talk to Sister Miaomiao about some private things in bed.

The two of them lay side by side on Sun Ye's bed. Sun Miao accidentally rubbed Sun Ye's ankle. The feeling could be described in one word: "Slippery!"

Sun Ye suddenly turned over and sat up, still confused as he lay there, wondering what had gone wrong with Sister Miaomiao again.

"Ye Zi, why do you smell so good and smooth? What do you usually use to bathe?"

"I didn't use anything, just that soap. I remember you had it too!"

Sun Ye watched as Sun Miao first sniffed at her, then crawled over to sniff at her, pouting and muttering, "You just smell better than me!"

“No way!”

"Yes."

"Leaf~"

"What's wrong?"

"Ah! Sister Miaomiao, let go, your hands are very cold!"

"Ha ha ha ha!"

The two of them covered their hands in the quilt and quarreled for most of the night. The next day, there were bruises under their eyes, as if they had been punched, but it was caused by staying up late. They couldn't help laughing while washing up.

A few days later, Sun Ye's rewards were distributed one by one, all of which were delivered personally by others. In total, he received 25 yuan, a thermos, three notebooks, and two pens. The reward from the province accounted for the bulk of it.

Twenty-five yuan was a huge sum of money at that time. A family had to work hard for half a year to get twenty-five yuan, and they had to have enough work. But Sun Ye easily earned it with his college entrance examination results.

The families in the team were very jealous and urged their children to study hard, which created a trend of studious behavior.

A few days later, the educated youth teacher who taught grades 5, 4 and 5 received an admission notice from a school in another province. After that, the Qianjin Brigade never received an admission notice again.

Sun Ye also understood that his elder brother and sister Lanlan might have failed the exam, and he didn't know whether to be happy or sad.

The eldest brother is aware of his own results and is not particularly disappointed. He has decided to take the exam again and review while working.

As for Sister Lanlan, since we were far away, I only vaguely heard from Aunt Sun and the others that Sister Lanlan was very depressed.

Sun Ye couldn't openly comfort her. Putting aside the fact that their relationship wasn't that deep yet, wouldn't it be a bit of a show-off for her, a college-educated woman, to go and comfort her? Although she didn't mean to do that, her actions made people think too much, so it was better to just ignore it.

Professor Liu and his colleagues were taken back by their families before the New Year. The educated youth site now feels a bit empty, with only Teacher Li Qingqing left there.

The brigade was afraid that something might happen and wanted to send people to live in the educated youth camp. Sister Lanlan volunteered and applied to go there. Firstly, both of them were going to take the college entrance examination again, so they could learn from each other and discuss. Secondly, since they were both girls, it was more convenient for them to be together.

The research institute was closed and no one was allowed to enter. The instruments inside had not been moved out yet and were waiting to be shipped out one by one by mail.

Sun Ye spent this year in ignorance and boredom. He hurried to the next-door team to wish his grandmother and her family a happy new year and tell them the news. Then he rushed home without stopping to pack his bags and prepare to go north to Shuimu University in the capital.

Sun Ye stood at the door and watched her mother bring her five or six big bags. She wished she could empty the family's savings to take her to Shuimu University.

Sun Ye said that it would be enough to bring some clothes, toiletries, quilts, etc. She had never been on a train before and didn't know what it was like. Could the train fit so much stuff? Even if it could, she wouldn't be able to take it all.

"Mom, you don't need to take this, right?"

Sun Ye saw that his mother and father stuffed a piece of bacon in it and hurriedly stopped them.

"Mom, I eat at school. If you give me meat, I have no place to cook it, and I don't know how to cook it. If you give it to me, you will ruin this piece of good meat. You can just keep it and eat it."

"Who said I was giving it to you? Isn't your teacher also at Shuimu University? You should bring it to him. He's taught you for so many years, so you should still have some etiquette..."

“…”

Sun Ye was silent. She didn't expect that her mother would come up with such an excuse, but she couldn't refuse or refute it.

Sun's mother pulled and tugged and made seven or eight big bags. Sun Ye and Sun's father looked at each other and just wanted to yell at Sun's mother: They can't do it!

"Baby's mother, can we reduce it appropriately? Although I am quite powerful, your husband and daughter don't have eight hands, so they can't handle so much."

Mother Sun was stunned. She looked at Sun Ye on the left and then at Father Sun on the right. That’s right, just two people couldn’t carry so much.

"Then what should we do? We all need it."

Sun Ye squatted down, opened the sack, and pulled out a shoe brush, a washboard, and a lot of clothes that could only be worn in summer...

There were even more outrageous ones later, all of which were carefully selected by Sun Ye and placed aside.

Sun's mother was anxious and said, "Ye Zi, these are for cleaning your shoes and washing your clothes. You must bring them with you."

"Mom, listen to me, if I take these little things away, you will have nothing left."

"If you don't have it, buy a new one!"

"Then wouldn't it be better if I just bought it over there? I have to buy it anyway, and it would save me a lot of trouble over there, what do you think?"

Mother Sun had nothing to say and nodded thoughtfully.

Now, Sun Ye started to work with all his strength, saying he didn't want this, he didn't want that...

In the end, there were only four sacks left that could not be thrown away, but this was within Sun's father's tolerance.

Before dawn the next day, Sun Ye and his father ate the dumplings specially made for them by their mother, left home, and blended into the night.

Dad Sun had a sack hanging on his shoulder and held a sack in each hand. Sun Ye only took one, and it was only after Sun Ye strongly requested Dad Sun to give it to her.

The brigade specially sent a bullock cart to take Sun Ye and his group away, otherwise it would have been difficult for them to walk the distance from the brigade to the town.

There were several large packages in the ox cart. Sun Ye sat on the cart, looking at the village slowly moving backwards. For a moment he felt a little sad, with melancholy filling his heart.

Secretly wiping away her unknown tears, Sun Ye sat on a bumpy ox cart and left the brigade where she was born and raised on an unremarkable night.

When they arrived at the town, it was sparsely populated, so the ox cart took them directly to the bus station. Dad Sun said goodbye to the driver and found a bus bound for the city, carrying his bags and getting on.

The winter morning light was slightly dim, and just as half of its face was revealed, the car started.

It was Sun Ye’s first time riding in a car. It was cold in winter and she was wrapped up tightly. The scarf covered half of her face, leaving only a pair of bright eyes exposed.

The car was moving, and Sun Ye was quite interested at first, but as the journey became longer and the unpleasant smell of car exhaust made her want to vomit.

Sun Ye was holding it in all the way, and it was not until he stood up and his trembling feet landed on the ground that he felt alive again.

I staggered to a tree and vomited out everything I had eaten in the morning. I felt much better after vomiting, but I was still a little dizzy. I found a big rock to hold on to, lowered my head and slowly adjusted myself.

Dad Sun couldn't take care of Sun Ye for the moment. He had to take the luggage down, otherwise he would be taken away and he wouldn't even be able to cry.

We could take a short break in the city. The train would not depart until after two in the afternoon. Only then did Sun Ye feel lucky that he did not have to change trains and that this was a direct train to the capital.

The bus station and the train station are right next to each other, so there is no need to look for them specifically. Sun Ye didn't have the time to look at what the station looked like at the moment, as he was busy with his own business.

Dad Sun didn't expect that Sun Ye would be so carsick. He just hoped that he wouldn't be train sick, otherwise he would be in big trouble.

"Ye Zi, come here, drink some water. You will feel better if you drink some water."

Sun Ye drank some and felt much better.

It was noon now and the bus would not leave for another two hours. Dad Sun bought a bun for Sun Ye and ate the pancake prepared by Mom Sun.

It was not easy to get on the bus. Sun Ye was squeezed in. It was only because his father held Sun Ye's hand tightly that he was not swept away by the crowd.

When she got to her seat, someone was already sitting there. Sun Ye didn't care about anything else at the moment. She was not feeling well and didn't have the time to argue with others. She just squeezed over and sat down steadily in her own seat.

When Sun Ye and his father stood at the gate of Shuimu University, they sighed at the same time. They felt like they were almost exhausted from the journey.

There was a greeting person at the door, and Sun Ye and his father went forward to ask.

Sun Ye ignored the man's astonished look and took out the admission letter from the lining of his clothes and handed it to the person in front of him.
