Chapter 91 A Final Farewell

At this moment, the group was standing in a remote corner of the river.

There were few people around, so Feng Ran shared her thoughts.

"I'm going to live on an island. You can't come with your families, so this is the only place for you all."

Wang San San gave Feng Ran a deep look.

He understood that if he were alone right now, he could immediately follow Feng Ran to an island or even to the bottom of a lake.

But he has to support his family.

Okay. See you again sometime.

"Okay. Turn your head away."

Wang San San didn't ask why and simply turned her head away. Feng Ran released the dilapidated van. She took ten cans of milk powder from her spatial storage, along with some previously collected baby clothes and some fabric. She stuffed everything into a sack and took it out.

"Here. It's a small token of my appreciation. We've known each other for so long."

"This... I cannot accept it. I cannot accept a reward without merit."

"How could that be? Besides, this is for your second sister's child. If there's no milk after the baby is born, it can help temporarily."

Take it.

"……Um."

"Then let's say goodbye."

"good."

Wang San watched as the group drove off. This time they took the main road. Although the road surface was damaged, it was still drivable.

When they encountered sections of road that were impassable, the group would get out of the car, park it, walk a short distance, and then continue driving.

It wasn't until they were driving that Feng Ran asked for the opinions of the others.

"I follow you."

"I have nowhere else to go, so I'll follow you."

"Li Luo said he wanted to follow Ji Xiang."

"Then you'll have no choice but to come with me to the island."

"Can."

"Which island are you planning to go to?" Feng Nangui asked.

"We were originally planning to go to the place where we used to fish. What do you think? Should we go to the islands in the north of our country instead?"

"The city we are in now is in the middle zone."

"Why don't we give it a shot and head to Qing City this time!" Bai Lian suggested.

“I think it’s a good idea,” Feng Ran said.

"Um."

"If no one objects, let's go to Qing City. I happen to have a motorhome in my space."

Let's drive there in our RV, taking our time. We can enjoy the scenery along the way. It's been so long since the apocalypse, we haven't really left the house much.

After everyone agreed, the RV was released. The group even covered the roof with tattered sheets and plastered the sides with layers of mud.

Unfortunately, this RV is too new for the current environment!

"Is it done?" Bai Lian asked after wiping away the last bit of mud.

"Okay. Let's get in the car. Who's driving?"

"I'll go first. You guys take over later," Qi Xie said.

The group nodded in agreement; after all, it was a long journey. The current route would take several days and nights to reach their destination. They would proceed slowly along the way, and any unexpected events would slow them down even further.

The map was no longer usable. Luckily, Qi Xie had served in the army there before. He knew the general route, and after checking the road signs along the way, he figured it would be fine.

Driving has another advantage: air conditioning.

Qi Xie started the car. Feng Ran brought out a small table and began cutting fruit for everyone. She mainly wanted some herself.

First, I poured out a bucket of ice to freeze a large watermelon, along with grapes, peaches, and other fruits.

Then I made a big bucket of fruit juice drinks.

A ready-made water dispenser bucket. I put half a bucket of ice in it.

Then chop up the fruit and throw it in.

Honey, on a mineral water pipe.

Feng Nangui took it, sealed the opening, and shook it vigorously. He let it ferment for another ten minutes or so—perfect!

"Alright! Let me pour you all a glass first. We'll eat watermelon and fruit later."

"I'll have less," Bai Lian said, holding up her cup.

"Okay. By the way, it's almost noon. Shall we just eat what's ready in the car?"

"Can."

"OK."

...

Feng Ran took out the multigrain pancakes, roujiamo (Chinese hamburger), mung bean porridge, ice jelly, large meat buns, and pickled radishes that she had made in the space before.

The group ate first, and after they finished eating, Feng Nangui would go and bring Qi Xie over to eat.

Jixiang and Liluo couldn't drive, so after they finished eating, they went straight to bed in the cool car.

As Feng Nangui drove, Feng Ran sat by the window, watching the scenery pass by.

No one.

There are no vehicles.

All that could be seen was devastation.

All I could see were collapsed houses and broken fields.

Whenever they encountered a blocked road, the group had to get out of the car and check that no one was around before they could put the car back in and continue.

In the end, whether it was because they found it troublesome or for some other reason, Li Luo and Ji Xiang went straight into the space.

That night, the group drove their RV to a secluded spot in the fields and stopped.

Except for those who were on night watch during the first and second halves of the night, everyone else went to sleep.

However, before going to bed, the group started a fire and had a picnic.

Take two marinated rabbits, one chicken, and a few fish that you previously stored in your storage space. Arrange them around the fire and start slow-roasting them over the charcoal.

In no time, the aroma filled the air, and the chicken and rabbit were sizzling and dripping with oil.

The group started brushing on oil and sprinkling seasoning.

Luckily, they were in a deserted area. Otherwise, the aroma would have spread and caused quite a stir!

"Brother, give me a rabbit leg."

"Hmm." Feng Nangui gently pried the rabbit's leg off its body.

It has a spicy aroma upon first bite. It's absolutely delicious.

Speaking of which, we've used up a lot of seasonings in the space. Looks like I'll have to grow some spice ingredients when I have time.

The others started eating. They ate whatever they wanted.

After finishing her meal, Fengran ate a chicken leg and a grilled fish. She was finally full. On the small stove next to her, corn porridge was cooking. The corn kernels were shaved off, cooked, and a pot of water was added. Flour batter was then stirred in.
