The string that had been taut in Zhuyue's mind suddenly snapped.
A massive column of water materialized, enveloping Garan and slamming him to the ground.
The familiar water curtain reappeared.
The room was not as lively as last time; instead, it was filled with a bone-chilling cold.
"Human, do you know what you're saying?"
Yun Lian didn't care at all: "Lord Zhuyue, aren't humans all your playthings on Mermaid Island? I'm just willing to be played by you."
Zhuyue kissed her chattering red lips.
"Playthings? Have you ever seen a real plaything of the merfolk? Since you're so curious, I'll personally show you!"
After Zhuyue finished speaking, she put her arm around Yunlian's waist and led her to a place she had never been before.
Inside the enormous gladiatorial cage.
Humans replaced animals in the fight and biting each other.
They had no weapons, and to survive, they had to fight with all their might. Only one person could get out of each cage.
The stench of blood was strong and lingered for a long time.
Zhu Yue felt the uneasy, squirming body in her arms, and a trace of regret flashed through her heart, but she still gave a cold warning.
"This is the fate that should befall someone who is merely a plaything, not the kind of life you enjoy with me."
Yun Lian rubbed her waist in dissatisfaction.
"Zhuyue, you're hurting me."
This was the first time she had called him by his full name, her tone devoid of any teasing, but rather cold and distant.
Zhu Yue's heart skipped a beat, and she hurriedly looked down at Yun Lian. Her face showed a hint of grievance, but thankfully, she didn't dislike him.
It was only then that I noticed the bright red handprint on her slender waist, which was particularly noticeable.
"Squeamish."
Zhuyue conjured a piece of ice in her palm and touched her waist, trying to ease her pain.
The sudden cold made her instinctively shrink back.
"Zhuyue, if you really hate me that much, then let me leave."
"Who do you want to find after leaving me? Jialan?"
Where could she, a weak human being, go without him?
Even if she had a little bit of talent in pharmaceuticals, it wouldn't be enough to save her life.
Zhu Yue pinched Yun Lian's cheeks; her skin was delicate, and finger marks quickly appeared on both sides of her cheeks.
Yun Lian lowered her head and bit his hand hard, tears welling in her eyes. She looked pitiful, yet also made people want to ravage her.
Don't make me hate you!
Why does she hate him?
She was the one who provoked him first.
Even if... even if he did something wrong.
But Yunlian has stirred his heart, so she has absolutely no right to hate him.
Looking at her changing expression, Yun Lian got the answer in just one glance.
Tired of it.
She preferred the moon hanging high in the sky, not the candle-shaped moon now tinged with other colors.
Zhuyue was very perceptive of emotions; when Zhuyue glanced at her lightly, she felt a sense of panic.
He felt like he was about to lose her.
Fear flickered in Zhuyue's eyes, but he concealed it all by lowering his gaze.
He almost frantically kissed Yun Lian's red lips.
But her red lips, which would usually part slightly when he approached, were now tightly closed, and she did not react no matter how he kissed her.
His large hand also eagerly caressed the delicate body that would move because of him, but the person in his arms was like a piece of wood, unmoved.
Zhuyue's eyelashes trembled slightly as she slowly opened her eyes.
Where was the dazed look in the eyes of the person before him, the one who had once made him dazed at the slightest touch?
At this moment, she was as cold as ice, except for the wetness of her red lips, which silently indicated that what had just happened was not a dream.
"Why did you stop? If insulting me like the other merfolk around you makes you feel better, you can try it."
It was only at this moment that Zhuyue noticed that some mermaids, engrossed in watching the match, were having their servants attend to them as if no one else was there.
The servants, however, only showed numbness and disbelief on their faces.
He had never seen a human being as vibrant as she was.
"That's not what I meant."
He never intended to insult her.
Even if they bring her here, they will set up a barrier to block their view. They can see everyone, but no one can see them.
He just wanted to make her afraid of other mermaids, to let her know that even the seemingly glamorous mermaids were so chaotic in private, and to make her rely on him the only one.
Yun Lian remained unmoved by his explanation.
With cold, unwavering fingers, he slowly unbuttoned her clothes. Zhu Yue's eyes burned as he hurriedly looked away and pulled her into his arms.
Take her away from this place.
He seems to have made a mistake.
But for someone who has been held in high esteem for thousands of years, his apology was difficult to articulate.
"Don't untie it, I won't get in your way anymore."
He put Yun Lian back on the bed, and without even glancing at her, he hurriedly left.
Yun Lian stretched lazily on the bed, all traces of her previous gloom gone.
"Hey, can you check where Zhuyue went?"
003: "Okay, host, do you need me to project your screen?"
"How come I never noticed you had this function before?"
003 smiled sheepishly.
"The host is too outstanding, which is why I was able to upgrade. Now, as long as someone is involved in the host's mission, we can see what they are doing."
"San'er, you're amazing! You're fantastic."
The Garan Palace is completely different from its exquisite appearance.
The interior has a minimalist style.
There was only a blood-red coral ornament and a seashell.
Zhu Yue looked at her disciple with mixed feelings: "I'm going away for a few days. You'll take care of Yun Lian."
Like a puppy that never learns from its mistakes, Jialan completely forgot about the scene of being wrapped in water and thrown out by her master.
