"There's a monster! Kill her!"
"Help! Help! A monster is eating people!"
As soon as Yun Lian opened her eyes, rakes, hoes, sticks, and stones all came flying at her.
Listening to their talk of monsters, Yun Lian felt inexplicably guilty.
My first instinct was to dive into the mountains and forests.
But there were people all around. The little fox, who had just transformed into human form, had never seen such a terrifying scene before.
The little fox pouted, looking aggrieved, and dodged around everywhere.
"Third Brother, quickly teleport me to the next scene, or your grandma will retaliate!"
"Host, please be patient. The plot is loading and has been completed."
Yun Lian read it almost ten lines at a glance.
The original owner had just transformed into human form and was starving. He ran to a farmer's house and had just grabbed a chicken to eat when he was discovered by the villagers.
Feeling guilty, she transformed into a fox out of fear, making it even harder to explain herself.
She was quickly chased and killed by the villagers who had recovered their senses. The little fox was extremely hungry, and no matter how much she begged for mercy, the villagers were unwilling to let her go.
The little fox was furious and had just started fighting with the villagers when he was spotted by the young Taoist priest who was exorcising demons.
The little fox had just finished eating chicken, and her teeth and face were stained with blood. Thinking that the little Taoist priest had mistaken her for an evil demon, and with the idea of subduing the demon, he seriously injured the little fox.
He captured the little fox and took it back to the Taoist temple. There lived an evil Taoist priest who was said to be able to heal flesh and bones by ingesting a demon core tainted with lust.
He devised a plan to constantly create opportunities for the little fox and the young Taoist priest to meet. The young Taoist priest was naive and inexperienced, while the little fox was just beginning to fall in love. The two quickly fell in love.
The evil sect deliberately devised a plan to deceive the young Taoist priest, making him believe that the little fox had been tainted with human lives. They constantly sowed discord, leading the young Taoist priest to sacrifice his own family and personally extract the little fox's demon core.
The little fox died with its eyes wide open, all its life force merging into the demon core, and the evil scheme succeeded.
Years later, the young Taoist priest realized that he had aided and abetted evil, and had personally killed the innocent little fox. His resolve wavered, and he had no choice but to return to secular life, marry a beautiful wife, and live an ordinary life.
But every time I wake up in the middle of the night, I dream of that fiery red little fox.
After reading the plot, Yun Lian almost ground her teeth to powder.
"Good, good, good, so the world where only the little fox demon is injured has been achieved, right?"
That's really great. I wouldn't have any objection if the little Taoist priest spent the rest of his life in pain, but why should he live an ordinary life?
The little fox took 500 years to gain sentience, 500 years to cultivate into a demon, and a full thousand years to have the chance to transform into a human. And she was given this fate—to be reduced to nothingness?
"So, host, you've arrived. The little fox's resentment lingers, and the evil path will soon have to find new prey again."
This world is peculiar; it contains many animals and plants capable of becoming sentient, and where good and evil are reversed.
"The mission of this world is to ensure that the Taoist priest and the evil sects receive their due punishment, and to give the fairies a world where they can survive."
In the scene where Yun Lian accepts the plot, her crookedly tied hair is shattered by something thrown by the villagers, and her long black hair falls loose.
When the young Taoist priest arrived, he saw a panicked girl helplessly running through the crowd, but no matter how she tried to hide, someone would stop her.
The girl pleaded pitifully, "I'm sorry, I was really too hungry. I didn't mean to steal the chicken. Please let me go, I promise I'll give it back to you."
"Monster, we won't believe your nonsense."
"Quickly capture her, lest she escape and harm others. If we kill her, it will be considered doing justice for Heaven."
The girl's bare shoulders were already bound with hemp rope, and her delicate skin was instantly chafed raw.
The young Taoist priest flew to Yun Lian and pulled her behind him.
"I am a Taoist priest and also an exorcist. Could you hand her over to me?"
"Master Yichan! It really is Master Yichan!"
"We trust you completely. Please, Master, you must destroy this little demon. She stole several of our chickens as soon as she arrived. She's very wicked."
Yun Lian peeked out from behind Yi Chan, her little head timid, but she still whispered in her defense: "I'm not a bad demon. I told you I would return it to you, but you wouldn't listen."
How can you believe what a monster says?
Believe it or not, I'm a good monster!
"Master, please take her away quickly! The village has encountered a monster, and the children are too scared to come out and play."
Yichan, holding the hemp rope, bowed to the villagers and said, "In that case, leave this little demon to me. How many chickens did she damage? I'll compensate for them too."
"Not many, only five or six. You can't believe she's a monster. We humans would be full after just one, but she ate six and still didn't seem to have enough."
Yichan took out a pile of loose silver and took Yunlian away from the village.
Yun Lian's hands and body were tied together, and she could only move her feet with difficulty.
The rough hemp rope made her feel uncomfortable all over.
Yun Lian huffed, "Little Taoist priest, if you're so capable, why can't you untie the rope for me?"
Yichan stared at the hemp rope, stained reddish-brown with blood, his eyes stinging as if they had been burned.
His mission is to exorcise demons and monsters; to sympathize with them is to be irresponsible to oneself.
"Once we take you to the Taoist temple, we will naturally untie you."
