Song Zhu produced a ring from who-knows-where as if by magic.
Before Yun Lian could even speak, a smile crept onto her lips.
"Let me think about it. After all, I've heard that things that are too easily obtained are destined not to be cherished. Officer Song, do you agree to let me think about it?"
Song Zhu moved even closer to Yun Lian, their noses almost touching.
“With me, any request Miss Yun makes will be granted.”
The two were too close, and Yun Lian noticed that Song Zhu kept swallowing, his lips slightly opening and closing, and although he was trying to calm himself down, his breathing was getting more and more rapid.
His lips were slightly parted, and some white teeth could be vaguely seen.
Despite being a man, he had rosy lips and white teeth, with a glossy sheen that made him look very approachable.
Yun Lian responded to Song Zhu with a light, fleeting kiss.
Song Zhu froze, staring blankly at her, her eyes filled with helplessness.
Song Zhu's eyes were misty with tears: "Miss Yun..."
His gaze was unfocused, his ears were slightly red, and his eyes were glistening with tears. Yun Lian deepened the kiss.
He ran his fingers through Song Zhu's hair.
He noticed that the person beside him was stiff as a wooden sculpture.
Yun Lian reminded him irritably in his ear.
"Officer Song, didn't your school teach you to breathe while kissing?"
Song Zhu came to her senses, her eyes filled with ecstatic joy.
"Miss Yun, you've agreed to be my girlfriend?"
"Okay, boyfriend, from today onwards, you belong to me. You're not allowed to get hurt, or I'll be heartbroken."
Having gotten the answer he wanted, Song Zhu immediately hugged Yun Lian tightly.
Her waist was so slender; a gentle touch was enough to draw her close into my arms.
Song Zhu gently kissed Yun Lian's earlobe, carefully and tenderly leaving her mark.
Yun Lian's ears were tickled by his teasing, and she couldn't help but curl up in his arms.
"Song Zhu, why are you acting like a big dog? Stop fooling around."
Song Zhu whispered foolishly in her ear.
"Miss Yun, I'm very happy."
The two embraced tightly, but the phone rang at that inopportune moment.
Yun Lian frowned slightly when she saw the name Huo Yuan on the phone.
Why did Huo Yuan want to see her?
Song Zhu assumed that Yun Lian was unable to answer the phone because she was present, so she gently released Yun Lian and said considerately.
"Miss Yun, it's alright, please answer."
Yun Lian gently took his hand in a comforting gesture, and in an instant, their fingers intertwined.
Yun Lian glanced over and saw that beneath Song Zhu's feigned calm face was a hand tightly gripping her thigh.
He was also quite innocent.
Yun Lian felt a subtle sense of guilt.
It gives me the strange feeling that they've abducted some respectable young man.
"Hey, Huo Yuan, what's up so late?"
Huo Yuan raised an eyebrow when he heard the melodious and soothing music coming from Yun Lian's direction.
He said that this stepmother was restless.
I wonder where he's messing around late at night.
"Stepmother, my older brother is drunk and keeps calling your name."
Yun Lian could hear the deafening music coming from his place.
"It's no big deal that the children love to call me 'Mom,' but I've already moved out of the Huo family and have nothing to do with you anymore. Giving him some hangover soup when he's drunk is enough."
"Huo Yuan, I don't want you to disturb my life in the future."
Huo Yuan sneered.
"Stepmother, you really are heartless. It's a wonder that my eldest brother and third brother still can't forget you. How can you do this to them?"
Huo Yuan has always been an enigmatic figure. The original owner of this body had little interaction with him, and Yun Lian couldn't figure out how to get along with him.
He wasn't on a mission, and Yun Lian didn't really want to get involved with him.
"If there's nothing else, I'll hang up. I'll start dating a new boyfriend, and we'll see each other less in the future."
After Yun Lian finished speaking, she hung up the phone with a snap and then called Chen Rou.
The call was answered almost instantly.
"Miss Yun, I heard you've left the Huo family. What brings you calling me so late at night?"
“Miss Shen, Huo Ye is drunk. He’s at a bar. You can find the place yourself. I think he might not mind your presence now.”
Shen Rou sat up, her expression filled with doubt.
"Miss Yun, is your purpose in bringing me and Huo Ye together really just to get rid of the Huo family?"
She didn't want to become someone Huo Ye despised.
"Whether you believe it or not, I hope you can be happy with Huo Ye, Miss Shen. Right now, the only person you can trust is me, isn't that right?"
Yun Lian hung up the phone, but Song Zhu was still playing with her fingers tirelessly.
Yun Lian stretched out her fingers.
"Officer Song, feel free to take her. After all, I'm already your girlfriend."
Song Zhu's thoughts were thwarted, his handsome face flushed red, and his shy eyes were filled with Yun Lian.
"Then I'll really bring it."
Yun Lian looked at him nervously and moved a little closer to him with a smile.
"Did Officer Song and the others plan this all along? Otherwise, how could the rings fit perfectly?"
Song Zhu avoided Yun Lian's gaze.
He felt guilty.
I remember seeing her bravely save a child at the temple and then secretly run away without looking back, and I also learned a few days ago that she had saved a girl who was trying to commit suicide at an amusement park.
And when he inadvertently noticed her job search, her courage to argue with her boss when facing workplace injustice, and her bravery in subduing a pickpocket, almost every aspect of her fascinated him.
He had never seen a woman like her before.
She possesses many admirable qualities, including confidence, courage, enthusiasm, beauty, high combat skills, wisdom, and composure.
During their first meeting, while taking her statement, he almost read through her entire file. When he saw that she had given up university and was trying to marry into a wealthy family, he inevitably harbored prejudice against her.
But the more I got to know her, the more I was captivated by her personal charm.
