Dan Wuxiu

Dan Wuxiu

The members of Thousand Saints Palace had received orders early and were waiting in front of the mountain gate. Their light blue sect uniforms were particularly eye-catching, making them easily visible to the people on the spirit ship.

"There are quite a lot of people here," Wen Zheng remarked, placing the storage bag containing the talismans on her right waist.

It's convenient when you're fighting.

Mu Qing followed her gaze and looked down, his eyes deep: "Qian Sheng Palace is one of the top sects in the cultivation world, so it's not surprising that they have such a grand gesture."

Wen Zheng nodded and said nothing more.

Mu Qing waited a while but didn't hear what she said next, so she glanced at her a few more times.

Is it just my imagination?

I sense that Wen Zheng harbors a great deal of hostility towards Qian Sheng Palace.

Before he could think it through, the spirit ship stopped in front of everyone. Mu Qing and several elders disembarked and greeted the elders who had been in contact with the Thousand Saints Palace.

"The Qingchen Sect elders and their disciples have been invited to participate in the Immortal Sect Grand Competition."

"Elder Ye of Medicine Immortal Valley and his disciples have been invited to participate in the Immortal Sect Grand Competition."

"..."

An elder from the Thousand Saints Palace stepped forward and greeted them, saying, "You've come a long way and must be tired. Your lodgings have been arranged. Please follow me."

The speaker appeared to be an old man, but his cultivation level was terrifyingly high, making him unfathomable. He claimed his surname was Gu.

Mu Qing and the elders walked ahead, chatting with Elder Gu about the Immortal Sect Competition, while Wen Zheng and Ming Xin quietly followed behind.

Upon arriving at their lodgings, Elder Gu gave a few instructions before preparing to leave.

He paused as he passed Wen Zheng, glanced at her, and after receiving a questioning look from her, turned and walked away.

Mingxin whispered, "Did Elder Gu hesitate for a moment in front of you just now?"

Wen Zheng lowered her eyes to conceal the sharpness in them: "It seems so. I guess there's something I forgot to say. I'd like to say a few more words."

Mingxin nodded with some skepticism: "That's true, but why are you wearing a veil today?"

Wen Zheng's face looked fine on the funeral boat before, but she wasn't used to the sudden addition of a veil.

"I've been in seclusion drawing talismans for the past two days, and I'm overworked, so I've developed a rash on my face." Wen Zheng covered her face, and her features were not clearly visible under the veil.

"Is it serious?" Mingxin reached out to look at Wenzheng's face, but she dodged him.

"It was a little scary, I'll be fine after a few days of rest." Wen Zheng covered her face with her hands, not letting Ming Xin see.

There's nothing wrong with her face; wouldn't it be obvious if she took off her veil?

Seeing that Wen Zheng didn't want anyone to touch her face, Ming Xin stopped bringing it up and changed the subject: "Only you and Immortal Venerable Mu Qing from the Immortal Pursuit Sect have come. Are you going to participate in the Immortal Sect Competition?"

Wen Zheng's cultivation level is at the Nascent Soul stage, which would be considered quite good in an outside sect, but in the Thousand Saints Palace, she's not even as good as a sweeping disciple.

It's a huge disadvantage for the Zhuxian Sect to have only her participate in the competition.

“No,” Wen Zheng explained that other people from the sect would also be participating in the Immortal Sect Competition, “but the Sword Peak Elder who brought the group seems to be injured, so I don’t know if they will replace him.”

When dealing with Xu Ximing, Elder Jianfeng was well prepared and hid well. After the matter was resolved, his injuries were not serious and he only needed to rest for two days.

Later, I heard from Mu Qing that Elder Jianfeng tried to pilot a spirit ship on his way back to the Zhuxian Sect. While dodging birds, he crashed into a cliff and broke his leg.

Upon learning of this bizarre encounter, Mingxin's expression froze for a moment, unsure how to react. He chuckled awkwardly and said, "It's alright, he can still participate in the next Immortal Sect Competition."

"...It's hard to say."

After all, it's hard to say whether Thousand Saints Palace can survive this time.

Mingxin: "?"

Wen Zheng: "It's nothing. Let's go back and rest for a while. I'm exhausted from traveling on the funeral ship these past few days."

After chatting for a while, the two went back to their rooms to rest.

After they left, a figure emerged from the shadows not far away. Elder Gu tilted his head and looked in the direction Wen Zheng had gone.

Same name, similar build, could it be her?

The eldest disciple who was killed by the palace master himself.

Hearing the zither.

The orange-red sunset pierced the sky. When Wen Zheng woke up, she was in a daze and couldn't remember where she was for a moment.

She glanced at the unfamiliar scenery outside the window and then remembered that she had arrived at Qian Sheng Palace. The most important thing now was to get the map of Qian Sheng Palace and find the backup plan she had left behind.

There was a loud banging at the door. When Wen Zheng opened it, she saw Ming Xin, who was dressed very elegantly.

"Why are you dressed like this?" Wen Zheng glanced over and noticed that the other person had just as many defensive magical artifacts as Elder Ye.

Mingxin took out several magical artifacts and handed them to Wenzheng, saying, "My master asked me to deliver these to you, saying they are for borrowing."

Wen Zheng examined the magical artifacts in her hand; almost all of them were concealment-type, and their functions were self-evident.

"Elder Ye suddenly gave me these things without asking you to pass on a message?" Wen Zheng asked, puzzled, after accepting the items.

Mingxin shook his head: "Master didn't say, but Qian Sheng Palace will be hosting a banquet for us tonight. Master told me to dress nicely so as not to embarrass Yao Xian Valley."

Wen Zheng: "..."

They can't afford to lose the image of Medicine Fairy Valley as a wealthy place.

“Okay, I understand. Please thank your master for me.” After Wen Zheng finished speaking, she took out a stack of talismans as a thank-you gift and stuffed them into Ming Xin’s hand: “Please help me test the effect of the new talismans.”

Mingxin paused for a moment, holding the talisman, then realized that she had used testing the talisman as an excuse to give him something, and accepted it with a smile.

Before leaving, she instructed, "I heard from the disciples of Qian Sheng Palace who came to inform me that Palace Master Ye will be coming."

Wen Zheng smiled to indicate that she understood, then lowered her eyes and fell into thought.

Shan Fengyu is the current Palace Master of Qian Sheng Palace and is said to be the strongest person in the cultivation world.

Could he be the person from her dreams?

Wen Zheng changed into a set of clothes from the Zhuxian Sect, but didn't remove the veil from her face. Just before the banquet, she popped a pill into her mouth.

Guanghua Hall.

Dan Fengyu leaned back lazily in his chair. With his Mahayana stage cultivation, his appearance was frozen in his youth, making him look much younger than his son standing below.

Elder Gu recounted the person he had seen who resembled Wen Zheng, then looked up at Shan Fengyu: "Palace Master, how about I send my disciple to test him out?"

If she really is Wen Zheng, she might actually have a way to escape from the Palace Master and come back alive.

She's the type who loves to take crooked and unorthodox paths.

Shan Fengyu's son, Shan Wuxiu, sneered: "What's the point of testing him? Regardless of whether he is right or wrong, just kill him."

Upon hearing this, Elder Gu took a deep breath and reminded them, "The Immortal Sect Competition is just around the corner. How can the Thousand Saints Palace explain itself to the other sects by causing such a mess on its first attempt at hosting the competition?"

After saying that, he gave Shan Wuxiu a reproachful look.

The palace master is good in every way, except that he gave birth to a brainless son. If it weren't for his good father, he would have been beaten to death long ago.

Upon receiving the complaint, Shan Wuxiu looked impatient: "I didn't say I was going to kill. It's normal for one or two accidents to happen in such a big event as the Immortal Sect Competition."

Anyway, since the location is Qian Sheng Palace, how the other party dies is up to them.

Elder Gu was rendered speechless by his logic, yet dared not directly refute his suggestion. He glanced at Shan Fengyu from time to time, signaling for him to speak up.

Dan Fengyu remained silent until the two finished arguing, then changed his sitting posture, his brows furrowed with undisguised irritation.

If Shan Wuxiu hadn't been so foolish, he wouldn't have supported Wen Zheng, only to have her run away in the end.

Since Wen Zheng was able to return again, she must have learned something and returned to take revenge. If she could do as Wu Xiu suggested, it wouldn't be a bad idea.

"Elder Gu, you should go back first."

When Shan Fengyu spoke, Elder Gu was momentarily stunned, then gritted his teeth and turned to leave.

After Elder Gu was dismissed, Shan Wuxiu revealed a smug expression: "Father, why don't you take action and kill him under the cover of darkness?" He then looked over hopefully.

Dan Fengyu was so angry at Dan Wuxiu's immature brain that he sighed, "Do you think it's appropriate for me to take action?"

Using a big knife to kill ants, how could he even think of that?

Dan Wuxiu was still holding a grudge against Wen Zheng for the loss he had suffered before and was about to speak up to persuade her again when Dan Fengyu raised his hand to interrupt him.

"That's enough. If you want to kill, do it yourself. Don't hang around me unless you have to."

I have to clean up his messes every day; it's so annoying to watch.

After Shan Fengyu finished speaking, he sent the man away.

The main hall was empty, the doors and windows were tightly closed, but the candlelight flickered.

A lens flew out, revealing Wen Zheng's face, just as repulsive as when she left Qian Sheng Palace.

I just don't know if she's learned her lesson this time.

Anyway, since that idiot Dan Wuxiu is making a move, he can just quietly watch things unfold.

As Shan Wuxiu was walking down the road, he sneezed loudly, tripped and fell, and cursed under his breath, hurling insults at the disciples who were passing by.

"What are you looking at? Be careful or I'll kill you." Shan Wuxiu punched the disciple who helped him up in the face, making him vomit blood before stopping.

The disciple who had been beaten hung his head and silently brushed the dust off the man's clothes. Only after receiving a "get lost" from him did he leave.

Dan Wuxiu returned to his cave dwelling amidst a chorus of curses. As the only son of the Palace Master of the Thousand Saints Palace, his cave dwelling was incredibly luxurious. The mind-controlling herbs that ordinary cultivators would have to save up for years to buy were casually placed in a vase by him.

He lay on the couch, tossing and turning, unable to sleep, and couldn't help but curse a couple more times.

"Young Palace Master, why are you so angry today?" The one who asked the question was a young man, about twenty years old, who looked quite young.

Dan Wuxiu turned his head to look at the newcomer and waved for him to sit down: "Wu Yan, you've come at the right time. Come over and help me analyze this."

He has never liked to think about complicated things; it's best if someone else does it for him.

Wu Yan sat down to the side, casually picked up a spiritual fruit and ate it, his face showing an attentive expression: "Young Palace Master, please speak."

Dan Wuxiu leaned back on the couch, carefully choosing his words, and said, "What if you find that someone you really hate has come back and might even try to take everything from you?"

Wu Yan paused in chewing the spiritual fruit, and asked cautiously, "Does the young palace master mean that Wen Zheng has returned?"

Dan Wuxiu: "..."

That was a very accurate guess.

Seeing through Shan Wuxiu's thoughts, Wu Yan smiled and said, "The young palace master made it very clear, so I guessed that Wen Zheng might have returned."

"You think she's not dead?" Shan Wuxiu asked. When her father tortured Wen Zheng, everyone in the Thousand Saints Palace was there and witnessed Wen Zheng's life force being cut off, with no possibility of resurrection.

Wu Yan shook his head: "Although Wen Zheng lost her sword bone and her cultivation regressed, she stayed in the library for a long time afterward. Perhaps she found a way for evil cultivators to revive her there."

When the Palace Master took Wen Zheng's sword bone and placed it on Shan Wuxiu, he thought Wen Zheng would become depressed. Unexpectedly, she was like a roadside weed with strong vitality.

"What you said makes sense." Shan Wuxiu nodded in deep agreement.

Wu Yan glanced at the sky outside, then, remembering the lessons the elder had given him, steered the conversation back on track: "Does the young palace master mean he wants to kill Wen Zheng by asking this?"

The entire Thousand Saints Palace knew about the conflict between the two, and now that Wen Zheng has returned, Shan Wuxiu will not let her off the hook.

"I've thought about it." Shan Wuxiu clicked his tongue, irritably picking up a spiritual fruit and tossing it around in his hand. "There's a small sect participating in the Immortal Sect Competition; Wen Zheng might be hiding in there."

Wu Yan stared at the spirit fruit, his eyes filled with longing.

All the good things that could prolong life and slow down aging ended up as toys in Shan Wuxiu's spare time.

Thinking of this, Wu Yan lowered his eyes and smiled: "Is the young palace master hesitating or afraid?"

Dissatisfied, Shan Wuxiu threw the fruit at him, speaking in a harsh tone: "What do you mean? Are you looking down on me?"

Wu Yan accepted the fruit and quickly explained that that wasn't what he meant: "I was thinking that the young master's status in the Thousand Saints Palace is only slightly lower than that of the palace master. He can't let others bully him on his own turf."

His words resonated with Shan Wuxiu, who nodded in satisfaction: "You're right."

"In that case, why don't you take advantage of the dark night and kill that man?"

Wu Yan's voice was very soft, almost seductive.

Dan Wuxiu's still-developing brain thought his idea was brilliant and agreed, "That makes sense, I'll do it tonight."
