The world of cultivation.
The Great Leiyin Buddhist Sect, the head of Buddhism, is not as majestic as the Wanfo Mountain in the past. It is just a few emerald green hills with quaint temples on them. However, there are no incense sticks or golden Buddhas in the temples.
There is only the faint sound of wooden fish and Buddhist chants, and a peaceful and harmonious atmosphere.
The Great Leiyin Buddhist Sect was founded by Master Red Buddha Du Shi. It does not rely on incense and worship, but emphasizes cultivating one's own mind first, and practicing precepts, concentration, and wisdom.
Before he was ordained as a monk, Du Can could not tell the difference between monks and non-monks. He thought that all monks had to eat offerings from mortals, otherwise they would not be able to survive, even those who were called the Great Thunder Sound Buddhist Sect had to eat offerings.
In his opinion, a true Buddha should not take money from the people.
Later, he realized that nothing can be generalized, and that the monks of the Great Thunder Sound Buddhist Sect did eat offerings from mortals. This was because not all monks were transcendental, and many Buddhists needed Wugu.
The Great Thunder Sound Buddhist Sect is not a specific sect, it is more like an idea. As long as you agree with and practice this idea, you can call yourself the Great Thunder Sound Buddhist Sect.
Although I need things, I am not greedy and I don’t grab them. I seek a state of having no desires and no demands.
The monks of the Great Thunder Sound Buddhist Sect do not accept money, do not accept extra things, and do not take the initiative to rob. If you ask how much money the monks of the Great Thunder Sound Buddhist Sect have in their pockets, I'm afraid it's just a few mouthfuls of dry rice. If you say there is no money, but it does benefit the people of the world.
Good and evil are not classified into different categories, and both good and bad need to be examined comprehensively.
Du Can finished his homework for the day and was walking on the bluestone road of the temple. Suddenly, a strong wind blew and heavy rain fell from the sky, hitting the tiles with a crisp sound.
He slightly exerted his magic power, and the rain turned into a water curtain that enveloped him.
"Amitabha, it rains heavily every other day, and the mortal world is going to suffer from disasters again."
Du Can began to consider whether he should go down the mountain again recently. With the amount of rain recently, if it continues like this, floods will inevitably break out. By then, mortals will be unable to resist, and monks may not be able to arrive in time.
After all, even they need time to rest and practice. It is impossible for them to guard mortals day and night, nor is it possible for them to completely protect everyone in the world.
Even the immortals don’t dare to say that there will be no disasters in the world, let alone them?
If you can save as many people as possible, then that’s a good thing. If you can’t, then don’t blame yourself.
Du Can continued to walk along the road, stepping on the water without leaving any traces, and soon arrived at the Great Leiyin Palace. The palace stood on the top of the mountain, with red walls and yellow tiles, and was a rare and imposing building.
Outside the Great Leiyin Palace, through the open door and the falling rain, several figures could be vaguely seen standing inside, and the sound of fierce quarreling could be heard from inside.
"The true Buddhahood! The master of the sect cannot be lost, and once lost, it can never be found again."
"Lin Zi Jue, this is not the so-called Lin Zi Jue at all, it is the fruition of great wisdom, the position of the World Honored One! The ancient saints sought but could not obtain it, and the ancient saint kings only got one of them."
"All paths are the paths of all Buddhas. All seeds are the seeds of causes of all sentient beings. That is, to understand the ultimate emptiness of all dharmas of form and mind. The presence is the mind of wisdom."
"A great opportunity, a great opportunity never seen before in the ages. Why are you still hesitating? As long as you become a Buddha, you can save the world."
"Master?" Du Can called out, and the sounds inside stopped instantly, and those blurry figures suddenly froze.
For a long time, there was no response from the palace.
He called out again, "Master, are you in there?"
Still no one answered, but those blurry figures still existed.
"Master, I'm coming in."
Du Can walked into the palace in the heavy rain. The scene in front of him became increasingly blurry for some reason, and he lost control of his magic power. The moment he stepped into the palace, his magic power was restored.
Drops of water dripped onto the wooden board and seeped into the cracks.
Du Can breathed in a cold breath, and saw green lamps and ancient Buddhas hidden in the darkness, while his master sat in the candlelight with a peaceful face.
As usual, he asked, "Du Can, have you finished your homework for today?"
Du Can breathed a sigh of relief and replied, "Master, I have finished all my homework. By the way, I seemed to hear a quarrel here just now. Master, are you quarreling with someone?"
Du Shi just shook his head slightly and did not give any further explanation.
Instead, he continued to ask, "Du Can, your master is almost 2,000 years old. With the life span of a god, he should be dying soon..."
Before he could finish his words, Du Can's expression suddenly changed. He said, "You...you are going to die? What should we do? What should we do? This...this is right! Let's go ask the immortal for help. He has great magical powers and will definitely be able to do it."
Over the years, Du Shi has been like a teacher and a father to him. In the world of cultivation, the word "master" is often more important than a biological father. First, it is the grace of teaching, and second, it is the long-term companionship and care.
Neither of these two things can be given by a biological father. He taught me how to transcend the mundane world and I have been with him for a hundred years. Even raising animals can develop feelings for them, let alone a master who lives with me day and night.
"Du Can's cultivation is not good enough. Everything that exists is false. Why should we be afraid of life and death?" Du Shi showed a faint smile, looking very free and easy.
…
On the eighteenth day of the twelfth lunar month, heavy rains fell and floods continued.
Du Can had just returned from disaster relief work. He looked at the heavy rain in the sky and sighed deeply, "Amitabha, when will the flood end?"
In recent years, there have been many disasters. Floods have occurred one after another, and all places near water have been submerged, and a large amount of fertile farmland has been washed away. Now the great masters of the Moon Palace Buddhism and Taoism have begun to gather together to discuss how to deal with the famine next year.
Jiuzhou has no harvest this year, and next year will be a famine. Relying on the surplus grain from previous years' harvests may be able to support it for a while, but if the heavy rain continues, it will be useless if the spring seedlings cannot be planted.
