Chapter 414: Immortal and Shushu

That's why she doesn't grow tall.

————————

Yundong City means clouds and mist are floating from the east.

A high-sounding name, a simple and unpretentious way of naming, this is the usual practice of the Immortal Palace.

There were two million people in the city, and the air was filled with foul air and mountains of garbage. Every day, monks used Taoist magic to throw countless feces out of the city, half of which was used for composting and the other half was left uncultivated.

As the wind blew, a foul smell came over us and the whole city could not live in peace.

Life was a bit bad, but under the rule of the Fairy Palace, everyone at least had something to eat.

Even some people who are in their forties or fifties and have experienced the era before the great flood feel that things may be better now.

At that time, there was neither food nor dignity.

A thin little girl with pigtails squatted at the door of her house, looking at her peers playing in the distance with some envy.

Suddenly a white-haired old man came from a distance and picked up the girl.

"Shushu, grandpa is back. Did you miss him?"

"Grandpa, I'm hungry."

"Eat a piece of naan first."

The girl took a piece of sac and immediately lowered her head to start chewing it, eating very hard like a squirrel.

She was so hungry that she woke up hungry in the morning, fell asleep hungry at noon, and fainted from hunger at night.

Little did he know that behind the old man was an ordinary young man wearing a plain white robe and his hair was simply tied up with a cloth bag.

"Is this your granddaughter?"

"Please help me, sir, what's wrong with my granddaughter? She can't even eat four meals a day."

The young man observed for a few seconds and gave the answer without looking, smelling, asking or taking the patient's pulse.

"She is not ill, but has a special constitution that requires a large amount of spiritual energy, or what you call immortal power. If it were 100 years ago, this little girl would have attracted a lot of competition from all the major sects."

"Sir, you mean my granddaughter can become a deity?!"

The old man was delighted when he heard this. He thought that if he could become a monk, he would have no problem eating 20 meals a day!

And every meal is meat.

The Immortal Palace advocates equality but not equality. Ordinary people can have a meal as long as they are willing to work. Monks can do more, so they can naturally enjoy a better environment, more food, and a more refined life.

For example, the only place in this city that doesn’t smell like shit is the cave area where the monks live.

But then the old man asked again in confusion

"But I sent it to the gods a few years ago, and they all said Shushu has no talent for cultivation."

"If you don't have enough experience, you naturally can't see it. Many geniuses are buried in this way. True gold is not afraid of fire, but it also needs a furnace to prove it."

The nonchalant manner in which the young man spoke of other gods made the old man even more certain that he was a god.

He put the girl down and knelt on the ground

"Please ask the immortal master to accept Shushu as his disciple."

"I am neither a master nor a deity. I am just a mortal." The young man shook his head and refused. Then he changed the subject and said, "But I can help you cure her and introduce her to the sect."

As a result, there was a lazy person who didn't work in the family.

According to her grandfather's instructions, Shushu served tea and water, and even washed the feet of this big brother who appeared out of nowhere.

Shushu was very dissatisfied at first because there was an extra mouth to feed at home for no reason and the child often liked to snatch her food.

Although she had never been hungry since the young man came, and would be full after two meals a day, children are jealous. They may be generous in other aspects, but they are basically not generous when it comes to food.

Shushu thought this lazy man was very strange. He liked to curse the gods, saying things like "taking kickbacks", "taking money but not doing anything", "wasting people's money" and so on.

In the end, he made a very arrogant comment that there were mistakes, but things were not messed up.

Shushu, as usual, held a basin of water to wash the young man's feet, and raised her head to ask, "Big bad guy, are you a god?"

"It could be."

The young man nodded nonchalantly, and such an attitude made Shushu mutter in dissatisfaction, "Yes, it is, and no, it is not."

"Most of the time I am just an ordinary person, just like now, I am living in the same room, sitting at the same table with you, neither higher nor lower than you." The young man replied, "But I don't think I am a god."

Shushu blinked, her young face full of confusion. She was still too young to understand what was being said.

"So when did you become a god?"

"When the world is in trouble." The young man smiled and patted her head lightly with his big hand.

The voice was soft and calm. It was the first time Shushu heard such a beautiful voice.

"I am a deity."

"What if I'm in trouble? Can you turn into a god and save me?"

"If you can give me a rub on the back, I can be saved."

"Oh! Shushu is giving you a back massage. Remember to save Shushu next time."

After that, Shushu had more work to do as a back massager. As time went by, she felt that she had been cheated by a bad guy.

She said she wanted to live with the gods, but she didn't want to eat delicacies from the mountains and the sea, or anything else. Every time the bad guy said you can overcome it yourself, you can fight for it yourself.

It was probably until New Year's Eve that Shushu went out to watch others set off fireworks, and then the tiger-head hat that her grandfather bought for her was snatched away.

The murderer is the fat boy next door. His father is a butcher. He has a muscular body and is very fierce in daily life.

The old man thought it was better to do more than not, so he let Shushu forget it.

Shushu ran home crying and found the young man.

"You big bad guy, wuwuwuwu, please turn into a god and help me."

This time the young man did not refuse. He held her in his arms and walked all the way to the next door. As soon as he walked in, he saw a whole family having New Year's Eve dinner.
