Chapter 80: How does a pet sitter chase people?
"Assistant Zhou and I have an agreement that while I'm protecting you, you can't discover my identity."
He was paid to do the job, so naturally he followed the instructions. However, Zhou Youlan's reaction was beyond his expectations. He had expected Zhou Youlan to be angry when he found out that he had been deceived by him, but he didn't expect him to be so furious.
Zhou Youguan didn't say a few words as usual, but just stared at Wei Wei.
Wei Wei could hardly muster up the patience to explain, "If you're angry because I kept it a secret from you, then I apologize."
"Feel sorry."
Zhou Youguan's expression had obviously eased a lot, but he still seemed to be trying to muster up some strength. "So you only treated me like that because of money."
If there were no interests driving him, Wei Wei would not protect him like the apple of his eye. Doesn't that prove that he was the one who was self-indulgent for more than three months?
He had warned Wei Wei not to like him. It turned out that Wei Wei had no such feelings for him from the beginning. He was like a stupid narcissist, speaking so shamelessly.
Zhou Youguan lowered his eyes, hiding his disappointment. He'd thought it was a two-way relationship, and he'd gone through countless mental preparations to accept that Wei Wei was a man, but he hadn't considered that at all.
He is a clown.
So Wei Wei and he were like playing a game. He thought he won, but in fact Wei Wei didn't care about winning or losing at all, and he, the fool who thought he had won, was the only loser.
He was the only one struggling and falling throughout the whole process.
"Not exactly." Wei Wei said, "If you need my help, I will help you."
Zhou Youxuan sneered and leaned back in his chair, half of his face hidden in the shadows. It was obvious that he didn't want to continue the conversation.
Wei Wei had no choice but to leave first. He didn't see that when he turned around, Zhou Youxuan was leaning here and quietly wiping away the tears from the corners of his eyes.
Zhou Youlan did not attend lunch. Zhou Liyue had lunch with some relatives from his hometown. Wei Wei stayed with Zhou Liyue at the dinner for nearly three hours. It was almost four o'clock before Zhou Liyue returned to the old house to rest.
Without Zhou Liyue's instructions, no one else could follow Zhou Liyue, so Wei Wei accompanied Zhou Liyue all the way.
Zhou Liyue walked very slowly, maybe because he had been drinking.
Seeing that his steps were still steady, Wei Wei did not go forward to support him. He just looked at the layout of the courtyard, which made him feel somewhat familiar.
"No need to follow me." Zhou Liyue waved his hand, "I'll stay by myself for a while."
Wei Wei stopped, nodded slightly, and turned to leave. Zhou Liyue suddenly said, "That brat of mine sometimes gets stuck in a rut. If you don't have that intention, it's best to let him give up as soon as possible."
He still understood his son well. Zhou Youxuan was not only angry because he found out that Wei Wei was the one sent by him, but he was just more annoyed that Wei Wei didn't like him.
After being directly pointed out by Zhou Liyue, Wei Wei's face turned a little unnatural.
Didn't the big monkey say that the Zhou family has strict rules? Even though Zhou Liyue had noticed Zhou Youlan's thoughts, he was still so calm.
…
When Wei Wei returned to the dormitory, his colleagues told him that there was no bed for him in the dormitory and that he lived somewhere else.
"Who arranged this?"
"The young master arranged it."
Wei Wei hesitated for a moment, but still walked towards the inner courtyard.
Wasn't Zhou Youlan angry with him? Why did he still keep him by his side?
When he got downstairs, he ran into Assistant Zhou who was delivering food to Zhou Youguan. Assistant Zhou glanced at him and handed the plate to him, saying, "Take it up to the young master."
Wei Wei: "This is not my job."
"What nonsense." Assistant Zhou looked at him reproachfully. "Our young master has never acted like this before. You're the first person to make him feel this bad. If you don't go, who will?"
“…” Wei Wei felt like he had heard these words in a TV drama he had watched.
Wei Wei had no choice but to go upstairs to deliver food to Zhou Youxuan. After knocking on the door several times but no one answered, he had to open the door and go in. As soon as he opened the door, a furry little thing blocked his way at his feet.
He looked down and couldn't help raising his eyebrows.
It looked like a cat, but he had never seen a cat with such blue eyes. Its eyes were like round blue beads, and its entire body had long snow-white fur. Only its ears and the corners of its eyes were black and gray. It was so pleasing to the eye.
The little guy meowed at him, and Wei Wei couldn't help but curl his lips.
This cat was not actually afraid of him. In the past, when he wore an official uniform, the wild cats in the streets would always run away when they smelled the bloody smell on his body. No matter what kind of livestock saw him, they would not approach him.
People say that those who are disliked by animals are either evil or have a lot of evil spirits. He is both, no wonder those creatures don't want to get close to him.
But unexpectedly, the little guy was not afraid of him. Instead, he surrounded his legs and sniffed and rubbed them.
The cat climbed onto his legs, its long fur fluttering softly, and its paws clean and pink, making it truly irresistible.
Wei Wei put the dinner plate on the table and picked up the cat that was following beside his legs.
"Meow~"
Wei Wei smiled knowingly, and when he picked it up he found that it was actually quite big.
When Zhou Youxuan came out of the room, he saw Wei Wei holding the cat and laughing. He had never seen Wei Wei laugh like that before.
Seeing Zhou Youxuan, the cat jumped off Wei Wei and ran towards Zhou Youxuan. Zhou Youxuan took it and let it sit on his shoulder.
Zhou Youxuan was wearing a tight vest, and his arms were muscular. Such a big cat looked very harmonious on his shoulders.
Zhou Youxuan stroked the cat's fur on his shoulder and asked, "Did it not scratch you?"
"No." Wei Wei couldn't help but look at the cat on his shoulder, "It's very well behaved."
"Good boy?" Zhou Youguan glanced at the rebellious son on his shoulder in surprise. "It fights everywhere within a ten-mile radius. Anyone who touches it will be scratched, including me."
Wei Wei raised his eyebrows, but now it seems that the man and the cat are in harmony.
Zhou Youxuan had a bath fragrance on his body, the same smell as the cat. It seemed that Zhou Youxuan had just given the cat a bath.
"Now it's just because I need to feed it." Zhou Youxuan patted the cat's butt on his shoulder. "Go away. In ten minutes, it still won't let me hold it."
"Assistant Zhou asked me to bring you food."
Zhou Youguan glanced at the dinner plate and took out a cat strip from the cabinet. "You can eat it."
"Need not,"
"My old man is attending a dinner party with relatives, which will last for several hours. Did you grab a sip of hot soup?"
Assistant Zhou didn't arrange for them to eat until the dinner was over, but he had lost his appetite.
Zhou Youxuan squeezed the cat food and said, "It would be a waste if you don't eat it. It might get all over the floor later."
"Since you are working in my Zhou family now, I am your boss, right?"
Wei Wei looked at Zhou Youxuan playing with the cat. He thought that Zhou Youxuan was really angry in the morning, but now it sounded like nothing happened.
The cat jumped off the table and ran to Wei Wei's legs before finishing a cat noodle, as if asking Wei Wei to hug it.
Zhou Youxuan was holding half a cat strip, looking at his own son, who was always arrogant and would not let anyone touch him, and would only pay attention to him when there was food. He was usually happy to be the king, but now he was like a dog, trying to grab other people's trouser legs and begging for hugs. He really couldn't help gritting his teeth.
Wei Wei couldn't help but bent down and held it in his arms. After the little guy rubbed against him a few times, Wei Wei couldn't bear to put it down.
"Dapang, your conscience has been eaten by a dog." Zhou Youxuan threw down half a cat strip, "When I served you, you never gave me a good face."
"Is it called Big Fatty?"
Zhou Youguan curled his lips and said, "As fat as a ball, isn't that Da Pang?"
Seeing Dapang being so well-behaved in Wei Wei's arms, Zhou Youlan began to wonder if all the years he had raised him had been in vain. "He does get along well with you."
Wei Wei's lips curved slightly: "It's very cute."
These little animals had never been willing to get so close to him before, and they were so beautiful, so there was really no way he couldn't like them.
Seeing Wei Wei's whole body softening as he held the cat, Zhou Youguan rolled his eyes and said, "Ordinary people can't control it. If I'm not around, it will get angry when eating."
"If it's willing to follow you, then you should take care of it."
Before Wei Wei could say anything, Zhou Youlan, fearing a rejection, hurriedly said, "I'm your boss now. You should do whatever work I assign you. On top of your original salary, I'll give you an extra salary as a pet sitter."
Wei Wei thought of what Zhou Liyue had said and hesitated.
Zhou Youling continued to tempt him: "Taking care of it isn't that difficult. Just give it a bath once a week, keep it out of dirty places when you take it for a walk, feed it, comb its fur, and play with it every day. Isn't that a difficult job?"
It really doesn't sound difficult. Wei Wei thought of it and immediately agreed.
Zhou Youguan raised the corner of his mouth slightly, and when Wei Wei turned around, he quickly pretended to be calm.
Wei Wei picked up the half cat strip and, imitating Zhou Youguan's behavior, squeezed it out bit by bit to feed Dapang.
Zhou Youlan's heart finally calmed down a little. He was angry that he was deceived by the old man and Wei Wei, and he was also sad that it was just wishful thinking. But he was more afraid that he could not keep Wei Wei.
As long as Wei Wei is still by his side, he still has a chance.
So what if Wei Wei doesn’t like him now? It doesn’t prove that he will never like him. He will let Wei Wei see his sincerity and feelings.
After Zhou Youlan spent the whole afternoon comforting himself, the dejection in his body disappeared and he was replaced by a heart full of energy.
But he has never chased anyone before. How do you chase someone?
He quickly took out his cell phone and asked his friends who were playboys and philanderers for advice. Everyone was shocked and curious about which beauty he had fallen for that made Young Master Zhou so cautious and serious.
I picked and chose during the tour and took notes on a few things that looked reliable based on the advice of a few friends.
The first rule to pursue someone you like: invite them to dinner, get to know their food preferences, and deepen their impression of each other.
Zhou Youxuan looked at the first item and tapped the back of his phone. They couldn't have dinner at home either. They had to create an environment where the two of them could be alone together.
"You should come and live in this bedroom from today." Zhou Youguan used Da Pang as an excuse again, "It will be more convenient for you to take care of Da Pang if you live there. Da Pang is not used to sleeping in a different place."
"I can take care of it even if I live next door," said Wei Wei.
"If the pet next door wants to eat or feels uncomfortable, can you tell in time?" Zhou Youguan's eyes wandered. "If you get paid, you have to do your job well. Do you think being a pet sitter is that easy?"
Wei Wei didn't refuse, "Okay."
