Chapter 48 In His Palm

Inside the Ganxin Hall.

When Wang Degui received the news from the Cining Palace, he immediately walked quickly into the inner hall.

The previous experience taught him that His Majesty would not care if the Queen Mother made things difficult for Concubine Ning.

However, what His Majesty thinks is one thing, and as subordinates, we must report it in a timely manner.

"Your Majesty, today all the concubines went to the Cining Palace to pay their respects. The Empress Dowager asked Concubine Ning to stay and kowtow and pray..." Wang Degui reported tentatively.

Helian Qi, who was reviewing the memorials, frowned and looked at Wang Degui, "What do you mean by kowtow? What do you mean by praying?"

"The abbot of the pagoda said..." Wang Degui repeated the empress dowager's words: "It is raining heavily outside, and Concubine Ning is kneeling and kowtowing..."

It was like a bolt from the blue.

Helian Qi suddenly figured out something.

These days, he has been blinded by one thing and has forgotten this point.

Helian Qi stood up from the dragon throne and walked out immediately.

"Your Majesty, it's raining heavily outside..." Wang Degui hurriedly caught up.

When Concubine Zhuang's procession arrived at Ganxin Palace, they saw the back of His Majesty leaving the palace...

"Your Majesty, aren't you here to see His Majesty? Why don't you go up and pay your respects?" the maid asked in confusion.

Concubine Zhuang looked at Helian Qi's departing back and bit her lip silently, "He already knows, there's no need for me to come again..."

The emperor never cared about the empress dowager's punishment of the concubines...

She was not sure whether Helian Qi would save Ning Wanyin, so she came to plead for Ning Wanyin...

She herself couldn't speak in front of the Queen Mother.

The only one who can help Ning Wanyin now is Helian Qi.

But when she saw Helian Qi's hurriedly leaving, she couldn't suppress the loss in her heart.

His Majesty really likes her.

"Let's go back to Linlang Palace." Concubine Zhuang lowered her eyes unhappily.

It was raining heavily.

Xue Jinyan rode in the phoenix sedan chair that the empress dowager had specially sent to pick her up and arrived at the Cining Palace. Xue Jinyan stepped on a spring stool to get off the carriage, and the maid hurriedly held up an oil-paper umbrella to prevent the raindrops from wetting her clothes.

Xue Jinyan immediately saw Ning Wanyin kneeling in front of the door.

She bowed and kowtowed towards the direction of the pagoda.

"Didn't you say that it had to fall to the ground with a loud noise? Why didn't I hear any sound?" Xue Jinyan walked straight to Ning Wanyin and sneered condescendingly.

How dare such a lowly person slap himself?

Xue Jinyan has always been proud of her noble status and never thought that she would suffer such a great humiliation!

"The rain is too loud, so the sound of the kowtow cannot be heard clearly." Liu Zhen answered diligently.

Xue Jinyan was surprised. "Then she was just being lazy. Didn't you guys notice it? How could she be so careless in praying for the good fortune of the Great Yan Kingdom?"

"My master is right. This is just my negligence..." Liu Zhen understood what he meant and said to the two eunuchs on his left and right:

"It seems that Concubine Ning is not very good at kowtow. You should go and teach her."

The two eunuchs understood what he meant and immediately stepped forward, holding Ning Wanyin's shoulders on the left and right, pressing her head and slamming it to the ground.

Lian Rui tried desperately to stop him, "Let go! Let go..."

Xue Jinyan looked at this scene and felt much relieved.

But the next moment...

"Stop!" a cold male voice came.

Everyone turned around and saw the bright yellow ceremonial guard, and quickly knelt down to salute:

"Your Majesty, may your Majesty be well and safe."

Helian Qi saw the woman kneeling in the rain, her hair disheveled, her forehead bruised and swollen, blood just flowing out and flowing down with the rain.

The little girl looked at him with a hint of expectation in her eyes, but then she lowered her eyes and did not call him.

Helian Qi felt a little blocked in his heart. He walked straight to Ning Wanyin and stretched out his hand to her, "Get up."

"I want to pray for Dayan..." Ning Wanyin said in a low voice.

Helian Qi frowned, picked her up from the ground, and went straight to the dragon chariot, instructing Wang Degui:

"Go to Lingxue Pavilion and call the female doctor over."

Then he casually glanced at the group of people kneeling on the ground:

"Anyone who disrespects Concubine Ning will be beaten to death."

"The most important affairs of the country are war and sacrifice. Praying for blessings cannot be neglected. But it seems that my mother has found the wrong person. Old Madam Ning is praying for her. In the final analysis, the person praying for blessings is still my mother. Then the palace should find a concubine who is related to my mother by blood. This blessing must belong to Concubine Xue."

"I'll leave this matter to you." Helian Qi said this while staring at Xue Jinyan.

He turned around and got on the dragon chariot.

Xue Jinyan's face turned pale instantly.

Several eunuchs also cried out, "Your Majesty, please spare my life..."

In Lingxue Pavilion.

Helian Qi carried Ning Wanyin into the bedroom.

The female doctor rushed over and applied medicine to Ning Wanyin. She reported:

"Your Majesty, the wound on Concubine Jie's forehead is only superficial, not serious. The wound is shallow and will not leave a scar, but be careful not to get it wet."

"Very good, you can go down." Helian Qi nodded and instructed Lian Rui:

"Help your master change his clothes, and don't get your forehead wet."

Lian Rui obeyed the order.

Ning Wanyin knelt down respectfully and saluted, "Thank you for your concern, Your Majesty. I am fine now. Your Majesty's health is the most important thing. Please go back and change your clothes first."

Ning Wanyin was wet all over, and after the emperor hugged her, most of her body was also wet.

"Are you chasing me away?" Helian Qi clearly heard the strangeness in her tone.

"I dare not. I don't know what I did wrong, but I must have made His Majesty dislike me, so His Majesty is unwilling to come to Lingxue Pavilion. Today, I am grateful to Your Majesty for his mercy and saving me once. How dare I continue to be an eyesore in front of His Majesty?" Ning Wanyin's eyes were red and tears fell.
