Extra Extra 2 Reunion (Wei Yingya's perspective)

The first Mid-Autumn Festival after the three-year national mourning ended.

There was no big banquet in the palace, but the Queen Mother granted permission for the relatives of the concubines to visit the palace.

Wei Yingya sat on the couch by the window, staring at the osmanthus branches outside the window, dazed.

Last night I dreamed of my family from another time and space. My parents, brother and sister-in-law were living well.

Being a stranger in a foreign land.

Naturally, she had no family to reunite with, and the original owner's family was also gone.

Wei Yingya has been trying very hard to play an ancient person, but she knows in her heart that she is a foreigner.

This wasn't her home, she was just trying to fit in.

There is always a sense of loneliness.

Oh, life...

Wei Yingya’s sadness did not last for a quarter of an hour.

Tang Miaoling pushed open the door and rushed in, saying excitedly:

"Sister Wei, my aunt brought some delicious snacks from a time-honored snack shop in Beijing. I loved eating them before I entered the palace! Let's go and have a go!"

Along with her came Lian Rui, the head maid beside Ning Wanyin. She bowed and said with a smile:

"The Empress Dowager asked me to invite you two ladies. Today, the wife of the Marquis Shou'an came to the palace and brought some snacks. Please enjoy them together."

When Wei Yingya heard the word "dim sum", her index finger twitched and she immediately stood up and said, "Let's go, let's go!"

When Wei Yingya and Tang Miaoling arrived...

The table was filled with colorful pastries, and the female doctor checked them one by one with ease.

"Wow, these are all my favorites! Aunt, you are so nice. Everything is good in the palace, but these snacks are hard to come by! I think the ones made by the imperial chef don't taste the same!" Tang Miaoling smiled happily.

Cheng smiled and replied, "As long as you like it. Wanwan knows that you are thinking about the snacks outside the palace, so she asked me to prepare it. I hope it suits your taste. Does Concubine Ying like it?"

"Thank you, ma'am. I like it very much." Wei Yingya felt warm in her heart.

There were many snacks on the table that she had talked about. They were delicious in the original owner's memory, but she had never tasted them.

Obviously, Ning Wanyin had asked Cheng to make arrangements according to their preferences.

As the four were talking, Helian Xi arrived.

The family sat down to have a reunion dinner.

Cheng brought her homemade osmanthus honey wine, which was sweet and delicious, but had a strong aftertaste.

Tang Miaoling drank excitedly, dancing and singing...

Wei Yingya giggled, and it turned out that she was the one with the worst alcohol tolerance among the group. Cheng and Ning Wanyin both tolerated more alcohol than her. Helian Xi was only nine years old this year and was not allowed to drink.

Wei Yingya was the first to get drunk.

This year's Mid-Autumn Festival, every family is reunited, and she is also reunited.

Perhaps because she was particularly emotional after getting drunk, Wei Yingya felt an indescribable warmth and touch in her heart, as if she had a home here.

"Sister Miaoling, let's sing together...ah...ah..." Wei Yingya pulled Tang Miaoling and sang like a ghost howling.

"Shen Ning! The eternal God! Thinking back to when I was in the cold palace, I thought I was going to die... Fortunately, you are here... Shen Ning, you must be happy. It has not been easy for you along the way... You must be happy..." Wei Yingya hugged Ning Wanyin's arm and muttered again.

"Xibao, auntie pats my head - so cute hehe -"

When Wei Yingya woke up the next day...

Hearing Tang Miaoling telling her about last night's scene in vivid detail...

Wei Yingya was completely stunned. "I held Ning Shen tightly and refused to let go?"

"Of course not. You howled for a long time, and your tears and snot got on your cousin's sleeves, but she didn't beat you." Tang Miaoling gave her a thumbs up.

Wei Yingya continued to be shocked: "I also rubbed the emperor's head?"

"No, he didn't hit you either." Tang Miaoling raised another thumbs up.

Wei Yingya covered her face with her hands and screamed, "I, I, I..."

"It's okay, it's okay...hahaha...Sister Wei is very cute!" Tang Miaoling grinned.

Wei Yingya finished wailing and lay down, thinking that it was already like this.

Think optimistically, hug the empress dowager and cry, rub the emperor's head, and then ask who else?

I, Wei Yingya, am extraordinary!

"Hey, what are these?" Wei Yingya looked at the pile of gift boxes on the table.

The palace maid Dong Wu, who was trying not to laugh, stepped forward and reported:

"This is the festival gift sent by Concubine De, this is Concubine Shun and Concubine Cao... these are sent by the Mountain Resort..."

Some concubines asked her to help them get along well with her, some asked her to help them get along well with the Queen Mother, and some asked her to help them think of words to praise the screen...

They all gave her Mid-Autumn Festival gifts.

What surprised Wei Yingya the most was...

The Empress Dowager gave her a box of pearls.

Although the Empress Dowager retreated, she would naturally not give up the pair of eyes that remained by Ning Wanyin's side.

Even though I have no use for her at the moment.

However, for someone like the Empress Dowager, chess is something she cannot do without, even if she never uses it in her lifetime.

I always felt like a guest in my dreams.

But Wei Yingya looked at the table full of gifts, looked at the smiling Tang Miaoling beside her, and thought about the lively reunion dinner last night...

She is no longer a passer-by.

She has a boss who is cold on the outside but warm on the inside, a like-minded sister, a generous half-enemy (half-enemy: half the potential to become an enemy), many people who are involved with her, people who remember her...

She is inextricably linked to this world.

She was no longer a spectator, but a person in the story.

Wei Yingya inexplicably felt like she had been working away from home for more than a decade...

I always felt like an outsider.
