A group of people stopped at the post station, and the family retainers and personal guards immediately got to work. The accompanying maids and nannies were also busy and immediately began their work in an orderly manner.
A young man with a short beard walked around the post station before heading towards the side room.
Zhu Xi was holding her two children. She looked a little travel-worn, but thankfully her two sons were still very lively.
"father!"
"father!"
Mu Qi and Mu Lin immediately ran towards Mu Chun; the two children were now very dependent on their father.
Zhu Xi smiled and said with a hint of reproach, "My husband is too worried. You don't need to do these things; the people below can handle them. My brother always tells me that you just need to do your job well."
Mu Chun laughed and picked up his two sons, one on each side. "Your Majesty, I do not possess your great talent, and can only observe every detail."
"We've been gone for three months, and we're almost back." Zhu Xi looked in the direction of Yingtian Prefecture, full of anticipation. "We haven't seen our elder brother for so many years. I wonder if he's gained weight. And we still haven't been able to see our nephew..."
Mu Chun coughed twice and said, "Um, you should address him as His Highness the Crown Prince."
Zhu Xi gave Mu Chun a playful glare and then said, "That's how you should address someone in court. If you're still so distant in private, your brother will definitely kick you out! Although he's only a year older than me, he always protected me when I was young."
Mu Chun had heard countless times over the years about how wise and capable her "elder brother" was, or how much he loved and cared for his younger siblings. In fact, since Zhu Xi's marriage, she had received a constant stream of honors and rewards, and letters and imperial edicts had never stopped being sent to her family. It seemed that Princess Zhu Xi was very favored.
However, Mu Chun sometimes felt that perhaps it was just the royal family trying to win over and appease the Mu family. Moreover, even if His Majesty the Emperor had doted on his younger siblings before, now that His Majesty was sitting on the dragon throne, things might have changed.
Watching her youngest son crawling around on the bed, Zhu Xi had a headache. "This kid is no good either, just like your uncle! Qi'er, if you keep making a fuss like this, see if your uncle will spank you later!"
......
Zhu Yunwen rushed back to Yingtian Prefecture to represent Zhu Yunying and the Ming imperial family at Zhu Gang's funeral. In reality, Zhu Gang had not yet been buried, but some of the funeral arrangements had been finalized.
Zhu Yunwen, who had rushed back, hadn't even had a proper rest when he was summoned to the palace again. He brought his wife and children for a 'family banquet'.
"Second sister, what brings you all here?" The lazy Zhu Yunwen had just stepped off the carriage when she laughed, "Where's our nephew? Let's carry him."
Zhu Yue said irritably, "You and Sang Shi should just keep an eye on Wengeng. Qi'er and the others can't follow their good-for-nothing uncle."
Zhu Yunwen didn't take it to heart, slouching and swaying as he walked ahead, saying, "Sister should be back by now, right? We miss her."
"I suppose it's because my eldest sister is coming back that my brother summoned us here," Zhu Yue said, looking at Zhu Yunwen with some affection. "How happy my eldest sister would be if she saw that you are now married with children!"
Zhu Yunwen said irritably, "You're only a year older than us, and my eldest sister is only two years older than us..."
"That's because we and your eldest sister are watching over you!" Zhu Yue grabbed Zhu Yunwen's ear and scolded, "Your elder brother is only three years older than you, tell me yourself, your elder brother..."
Zhu Yunwen quickly begged for mercy, and said with a hint of pride, "Who told me to be the youngest? I'm the most favored!"
Suddenly, Little Zhu appeared, riding a small pony. He was dressed in a little suit of armor, which was actually cloth armor. Holding a small wooden sword, he rushed over excitedly.
"Aunt, Imperial Uncle, let's go to the Qianqing Palace!"
Zhu Yunwen's expression turned bitter, and he quickly asked, "Why are we going to the Qianqing Palace? Not to your father's place?"
"Great-grandfather wants you to go!" Zhu Yunwen hurriedly pulled on the reins, but the little pony wouldn't turn around.
Since he couldn't make the pony turn around with his superior riding skills, Little Zhu immediately dismounted, startling the maids, eunuchs, and guards around him. The pony wasn't too slow, especially since His Highness the Crown Prince wasn't very old.
"Get out of the way, we'll do it ourselves!" Little Zhu pushed the horse's head, waving away the crowd who wanted to help. "We can do it ourselves!"
Zhu Yunwen actually disliked going to see his grandfather, Zhu Yuanzhang, because he was sure to get scolded. Although his grandfather treated him well because of his elder brother, Zhu Yunwen was genuinely afraid of Zhu Yuanzhang.
With a quick glance, Zhu Yunwen trotted forward, saying, "You sit down, I'll help you lead the horse."
"Cousin, let's ride a horse!" Little Zhu shouted as if he had just remembered something.
There were originally only three people allowed to ride horses in the palace, but Emperor Zhu and Emperor Xiao Zhu rarely rode horses. It was only Emperor Xiao Zhu who would ride his ponies around whenever he had free time. His ponies were even more valued than the imperial horses of Emperor Zhu and Emperor Xiao Zhu.
But now little Zhu is very generous. His two older cousins can ride horses, but his younger cousin is too young to ride a horse and can only be carried by his aunt.
Old Zhu was very happy, cheerfully preparing dinner. Seeing his 'little grandson' leading a horse over, he immediately beamed, for sitting atop the horse was his beloved great-grandson. As for Zhu Wengeng, he wanted to see him too. A great-grandson, he just needed some respect.
"Second Uncle, we're the best at riding horses!" Little Zhu shouted, brandishing his wooden sword. "And we can even stand up!"
