Chapter 12 I Want to Send the Child Away

On the messy paper, there are lines of shocking handwriting.

It made Zhao Yunzhu breathless.

Why did Song Shumin say this to her?

The current situation in the court is uncertain.

The emperor dotes on the ninth prince. The third prince is weak, the fifth prince is a martial and reckless man, and the eighth prince spends his days traveling and does not interfere in state affairs.

Only the ninth prince, Qin Zongzhi, is now the most favored by the emperor.

Moreover, because he had lived outside the palace and suffered a lot in the past, the emperor always felt that he owed him.

The tenth prince is still young, only twelve years old. He is the son of Empress Liu and is raised in the deep palace all day long.

There weren't many rumors about the tenth prince outside. People only knew that this prince was intelligent and had been raised by the queen since birth, as an exception.

In the past, there was a deposed crown prince. This second son of the empress dowager had almost no presence in the palace.

Now the emperor is fully focused on the ninth prince.

People outside only thought that the Ninth Prince was likely to inherit the throne of Crown Prince.

But Zhao Yunzhu knew in her heart that the ninth prince Qin Zongzhi had no powerful maternal family to support him, and he had not asked to marry a noble lady for many years.

Firstly, some of the aristocratic families looked down on the upstart Ninth Prince, fearing that they would send their carefully trained daughter to a mansion where she had no chance of winning.

As the deposed crown prince lost power, Qin Zong often accompanied the emperor.

The aristocratic families in Chang'an underwent a thorough reshuffle.

The remaining aristocratic families did not dare to act rashly.

Zhao Yunzhu threw the paper ball into the charcoal brazier. In an instant, a fire dragon leaped up and swallowed the paper ball up in an instant.

What was Song Shumin's intention in saying this to her?

To force her to leave Qin Zongzhi? Or does she have other ideas?

Her white fingertips tapped lightly on the table.

Zhao Yunzhu frowned and fell into deep thought.

"Auntie Yun?"

Xiao Min knocked on the door gently, with a hint of worry in her tone.

"Xiao Min, I'm fine."

Zhao Yunzhu stood up, walked to the door and opened it. She didn't want Xiao Min to notice anything unusual.

Xiao Min saw her and glanced around the room.

Zhao Yunzhu smiled and turned sideways, knowing what was going on. Xiao Min must be getting suspicious.

Seeing her so straightforward and decisive, Xiao Min felt relieved, thinking that she was just being too suspicious.

That night, Qin Zongzhi came to Lanxiang Garden and talked to Xiaomin in the yard.

Just walked into the house.

Although Zhao Yunzhu applied ointment on her red and swollen cheeks, it would take at least three to five days for them to heal.

Seeing her like this, Qin Zongzhi's heart was gripped.

His eyes were filled with heartache, not a false one, and he gently stroked her swollen cheek, "You have suffered today."

Zhao Yunzhu just felt it was extremely funny.

He asked back, "Can you help me fight back?"

Qin Zongzhi's body stiffened and he was silent for a while.

Zhao Yunzhu laughed dumbly, "I was just joking with you, but you actually took it seriously?"

"By the way, will you stay at my place tonight?"

Zhao Yunzhu specially wore a light orange gauze skirt embroidered with a fiery red phoenix tail today, with a red inner garment underneath.

Under the dim candlelight, her graceful and exquisite figure is so attractive that one cannot take their eyes off her.

Qin Zongzhi curled his lips, his eyes burning with desire.

"Of course I want to stay here with you."

He stepped forward and picked her up horizontally. Zhao Yunzhu was already used to it. She wrapped her arms around his neck with familiarity.

Her voice was charming and her face was bright with a smile. "There is something I want to discuss with you."

Qin Zongzhi raised his eyebrows slightly, "You little fox, do you always make demands on me?"

"No, it's inconvenient to keep Chun'er at home. I'm worried that it will cause you trouble..."

Her eyes dimmed.

Qin Zongzhi put her back on the couch and lay down beside her.

"I want to send Chun'er away."

Qin Zongzhi suddenly turned sideways and looked directly at her. "Where are you sending her? Or should I choose a place?"

Zhao Yunzhu quickly shook her head and replied, "I found a place for Chun'er to go, but I didn't want too many people to know about it. Leaving the house..."

Qin Zongzhi understood that Zhao Yunzhu did not believe him.

"Let Xiao Min follow?"

Zhao Yunzhu declined again. "I want to escort Chun'er out of the house myself."

"become!"

Qin Zongzhi's answer was so clear and straightforward that it surprised Zhao Yunzhu.

The speech I had prepared is now useless.

Seeing that Zhao Yunzhu didn't speak for a long time, Qin Zongzhi could guess what she was thinking.

He reached out and held her in his arms, just quietly feeling the warmth and softness of the person in his arms.

"Aren't you afraid that I'll run away?"

Zhao Yunzhu hummed.

"No."

Qin Zongzhi patted her back and said, "It's late, go to sleep."

He slept with her in his arms all night.

The next morning, Zhao Yunzhu carried Chun'er out of the house through the back door. She saw the carriage at the door, but she didn't get on it.

She hired another carriage outside and asked the driver to drive out of the city.

When they were ten miles away, she asked the driver to wait there.

He turned around and hired another carriage. This time, the carriage sped along the official road without stopping.

After driving for two and a half hours, the carriage finally stopped.

At the entrance of a village at the foot of the mountain, she got off the carriage holding Chun'er.

"Aunt, I'd like to know where Aunt Li's home is."

Zhao Yunzhu asked an aunt who was passing by about it. The aunt looked her up and down and found that although she was dressed in ordinary clothes, her appearance was outstanding.

Such delicate skin and tender flesh, I’m afraid it’s not something that an ordinary family can raise.

Her aunt smiled and pointed to a three-room thatched cottage at the foot of the innermost mountain. "There's only one family surnamed Li in Zhaojia Village. I think that's the family you're looking for."
