The sunlight coming in from the window slowly moved across the ground until no trace of light or shadow could be seen.
Miss Liu San just came back to her senses.
"I've been in this cold palace for so many years, I had no idea that such great changes had taken place outside."
She let out a breath, and her cloudy eyes gradually regained clarity.
It turned out that Miss Liu San had been renamed Lin Qing by the Liu family since she was a child. The servants in the Queen's Palace all called her Aunt Yishengqing. Many years ago, she was favored by the Emperor for one night.
This angered the Queen Mother, and she was subsequently imprisoned in the cold palace.
I have never heard that this queen is jealous before, and it seems that she is particularly harsh on the servants in the house.
Perhaps because she hadn't had anyone to talk to for many years, Aunt Qing pulled her to sleep with her.
Zhao Yunzhu told Aunt Qing in a disjointed manner many things that had happened in Chang'an over the years.
Even though her eyelids were heavy and she yawned frequently, Aunt Qing was still in very good spirits.
Until the sky turned pale outside, Zhao Yunzhu could no longer bear it and fell into a deep sleep with her eyes closed.
Aunt Qing called out several times, "Yunzhu, Yunzhu,"
Seeing that she still didn't respond, he simply stopped calling her.
Zhao Yunzhu slept until after dusk.
"You are finally awake, get up and eat something."
When Aunt Qing saw that she had woken up, she dropped her needle and thread, brought the food that had been warming on the charcoal basin to the table with a handkerchief, and waved to urge Zhao Yunzhu.
She nodded, stood up, put on her clothes and walked over.
There were two bowls of porridge, two plates of side dishes, and a plate of minced meat and eggs on the table.
Seeing her sit down, Aunt Qing immediately handed her the chopsticks.
After dinner, Aunt Qing took her to sit in the yard again.
There are seven rooms in the cold palace, but now only she and Aunt Qing live there.
The sky was filled with rosy clouds. Aunt Qing looked up and sighed, "I can't remember how long it has been since I last spoke to anyone. For years, I've been alone here."
"Does the Empress really intend to keep Auntie in the cold palace for the rest of her life? Didn't the Emperor stand up for Auntie?"
"My elder sister looks gentle and kind, but she actually has a dark and vicious personality. She can still pretend to be nice to others, but to me? I'm afraid she wishes I'd die in the cold palace!"
"The Emperor? Haha... I'm afraid he never thought of me at all."
"My elder sister is still keeping me alive because of my brother who is from the same mother."
When Aunt Qing mentioned the Queen, there was a hint of resentment in her eyes.
After he finished speaking, the atmosphere fell into silence again.
Suddenly, the iron chain of the gate was pulled, and the two of them looked towards the gate at the same time.
The door to the cold palace was opened, and Queen Liu walked into the cold palace in a graceful and elegant manner, surrounded by a group of palace maids.
"Her Majesty the Queen, be safe and sound."
Zhao Yunzhu knelt down and saluted, but saw that Aunt Qing beside her did not respond.
She tugged at Aunt Qing's sleeve, but when she saw that Aunt Qing didn't react at all, she looked up and saw Aunt Qing standing there in a daze.
When Queen Liu approached, she suddenly stepped forward with a silly smile, pointed at the Queen, and muttered, "Hehe, hehe, child, child."
When Queen Liu heard this, her pupils trembled.
His figure swayed, as if there was some secret hidden in it.
Queen Liu, who had looked so proud when she entered the room just now, turned pale in an instant.
"Walk!"
Queen Liu's back looked obviously a bit flustered as she hurriedly left.
The door to the cold palace was closed again, as if nothing had happened.
"It's okay. I think my elder sister won't come here again these days."
As soon as Queen Liu left, Aunt Qing immediately returned to normal.
Zhao Yunzhu was a little stunned.
"Aunt, why was the Queen so flustered just now?"
"Because that was her inner demon, and she did something wrong."
Seeing that Zhao Yunzhu wanted to ask more questions, Aunt Qing waved her hand and refused to say anything more.
At night, Aunt Qing was sleeping soundly when suddenly a strange noise came from the window.
Zhao Yunzhu looked at herself, stood up, put on her dress, and walked out the door.
"Concubine Yun."
The man in black outside the door bowed respectfully when he saw her come out.
Zhao Yunzhu nodded slightly and pointed to the dark room opposite, indicating that they should go in to talk.
The guard understood and followed carefully.
"His Highness has sent a letter. He is on his way back at full speed. Please bear with me for a few more days."
"Okay, I see. What else?"
"Replying to Concubine Yun, His Highness also told you not to worry."
There is no difference between saying it and not saying it.
The next morning, the sun was shining brightly, and Aunt Qing took her to the yard to bask in the sun.
Bang!
"Huh? What's that?"
Aunt Qing looked curiously at the jade pendant that fell from Zhao Yunzhu and broke into two pieces.
He squatted down and reached out to pick it up.
Aunt Qing suddenly looked serious, turned her head and looked at her, and asked, "Where did you get this thing?"
Zhao Yunzhu recalled that this jade pendant was given to her by the deposed prince when she went to see him, and it was also given to him by her father.
She told him everything.
"Why, auntie, do you know the origin of this thing?"
Aunt Qing handed the broken jade pendant to Zhao Yunzhu and sighed softly, "Ah, it turns out to be a relic of an old friend."
Zhao Yunzhu vaguely heard a hint of loss in Aunt Qing's words.
"Aunt, can you tell me about it?"
"I haven't thought about this for a long time. Now this old thing reminds me of the old friend."
Zhao Yunzhu never imagined that this jade pendant was actually a relic of Qin Zongzhi's biological mother.
