Aunt Lan told Zhao Yunzhu everything she had heard.
Zhao Yunzhu's heart sank and he quickened his pace to catch up.
He went straight to Princess Song's main courtyard, only to find that the courtyard had been taken under control.
The old women and maids were busy coming in and out.
The curtain of the west wing of the main house was lifted by the maid, and an old woman was seen carrying out a basin of scarlet blood.
The scene looked extremely terrifying.
Zhao Yunzhu's heart sank.
Then a maid came out of the room and shouted outside, "Where's the doctor? The doctor is here!"
"Mammy, I've already called them. They'll be here soon."
"Have you also gone to invite the prince?"
"I'm going."
The old woman frowned and only went back into the house after getting the answer she wanted.
Aunt Lan led Zhao Yunzhu into the west wing.
I saw the old women and maids in the room in chaos.
The maidservant standing by the bed was secretly wiping away tears. The girl on the bed had a pale face, and half of a dazzling red gold hairpin was exposed on her chest.
The other half of the red gold hairpin that was stuck in the body must have been stained with blood.
The clothes on Song Shumin's chest had already been soaked with bright red, which looked extremely creepy.
Zhao Yunzhu felt relieved and followed Aunt Lan forward.
"Princess?"
Aunt Lan squatted beside the couch and called out with sobs.
But the girl on the bed didn't react at all.
This huge gap is hard to accept. The girl who was alive and well just a moment ago is now in such a miserable state.
"The doctor is here, the doctor is here."
There was a hint of joy in the anxious and choked voice of the maid outside the room.
The curtain was drawn again, and the doctor, surrounded by his maids and servants, hurried into the house.
The doctor was old after all, with gray hair. He hurried all the way, and his forehead was covered with fine beads of sweat.
The doctor raised his hand and casually wiped the sweat from his forehead with his sleeve.
Putting down the medicine box, the maid brought a stool over. The doctor sat down and began to treat Song Shumin.
In just a moment, the doctor wrote out a prescription and told someone to boil the medicine immediately. He also told someone to boil hot water and prepare white wine for disinfection.
"Doctor, what's wrong?"
After receiving the news, King Song put aside his work and rushed over. He just saw the doctor pulling out the golden hairpin. Then, the old woman followed the doctor's instructions, cleaned and disinfected the wound, applied hemostatic medicine, bandaged it, and put on clothes.
The curtain in front of the bed had been drawn early, and King Song couldn't see Song Shumin's condition, so he couldn't help but feel mixed emotions.
I can only call the doctor to ask.
"Don't worry, Your Majesty. The princess is blessed with good fortune and nothing serious will happen. Fortunately, the hairpin wasn't deeply embedded in her body, otherwise—"
"If it sinks even a little bit, it will break my heart. At that time, even a great immortal will be unable to save me."
The doctor told the truth.
King Song's heart finally relaxed a little.
"Thank you for your help today, Doctor. I will certainly not treat you unfairly."
"Your Highness, there is no need to be like this. It is the duty of a doctor to save the dying and the wounded."
The doctor left a few more prescriptions, and King Song ordered his men to prepare generous gifts and escort the doctor out of the palace.
"If you take good care of the princess, you will be rewarded."
"yes!"
King Song glanced at the servants serving in the room and spoke loudly.
The old women and maids bowed respectfully before the King of Song left.
As for why Song Shumin was injured, King Song did not mention a word.
Aunt Lan saw this and sighed secretly.
Zhao Yunzhu stayed by the bed while the maid sent all the extra servants out of the room. The doors and windows of the room were closed, and the nanny just lifted the curtain beside the bed.
Zhao Yunzhu looked at the girl on the couch. Her face, which was pale just now, now had a slight blush.
My heart, which had been hanging in the air, was secretly relieved.
"Why are you here..."
Song Shumin was in a state of confusion and felt a tearing pain in her chest.
It was as if she had been sleeping for a long time. The sunlight coming through the window shone directly on the bed, making it difficult for her to open her eyes.
She narrowed her eyes and saw the person next to her, and she tried her best to force a smile.
Zhao Yunzhu was a little surprised. She didn't expect her to wake up so quickly.
He hurriedly stood up and went forward to tuck the quilt tightly around Song Shumin.
His tone was filled with pity. "Don't say anything. The most important thing right now is for you to get more rest."
Song Shumin nodded, and the next second, her eyelids drooped and she fell asleep again.
Zhao Yunzhu and Aunt Lan went to the outer room to sit and talk.
The two old women and three maids left in the house had all been serving Song Shumin since childhood.
The maid brought hot tea, and the two of them picked up the teacups, lowered their heads and drank the tea.
The room was eerily quiet; one could faintly hear the faint breathing of the crowd and the crackling of burning charcoal in the charcoal basin inside the room.
"How did the princess get hurt?"
Aunt Lan put down the teacup in her hand and glanced at the servants in the room.
The leading nanny was thinking secretly.
"Why? Do you really want me to go to the prince?"
Aunt Lan's voice suddenly rose, and there was a hint of sharpness in her shrill voice.
The timidity that was previously revealed in his eyes was no longer there, and he seemed like a completely different person.
Zhao Yunzhu looked at Aunt Lan in surprise, and her understanding of her was refreshed.
He thought to himself that his guess when they first met was not wrong after all.
"To answer Aunt Lan, it was the princess who forbade me to tell you. She didn't want you to worry, so I dared not to tell you."
The nanny bent over, and there was a hint of evasion in her eyes.
Aunt Lan frowned and said unhappily, "Don't worry, I'll explain to you when you wake up."
