Chapter 40: Drunk, newlyweds sleeping in separate beds
Lin Xiuzhi saw several men at the table who were very drunk. As soon as they walked out of Luo's door, they started looking for a place to vomit. Lin Xiuzhi was still not satisfied with the vomiting.
Who knew that her family members were also drunk, including her old man and two sons. Lin Xiuzhi asked helplessly, "Can we still leave?"
Father Jiang was dazed and shook off Lin Xiuzhi's hand. He said in a big voice, "Don't worry, I can do it. Look, I'll walk a straight line for you."
Having said this, he walked forward insistently, not allowing anyone to help him.
Seeing that her old man was about to hit the tree in front of them, Lin Xiuzhi pulled him back with a fierce face, "Why are you walking? I told you not to drink so much, but you still drank. It's fine if you drink by yourself, but you brought your two sons with you."
People in the village don't have the money to go to the county town to buy any brand of wine for weddings, so they brew their own grain wine, or use ginseng whiskers, dead snakes and the like picked up from the mountains to make wine.
No one knew what kind of wine the Luo family brewed, but after drinking three or five bowls, Jiang's father became ill.
Jiang Xingyan was better, but not much better. He sat with Jiang's father at the table with Jiang's uncles and aunts, and was often urged to drink.
If one person persuades someone to drink two or three cups, even a person with a good alcohol tolerance will get drunk. Jiang Xingyan is better than his father. He doesn't act crazy when drunk and walks like a normal person.
If Chu Sangning hadn't stared at him for a few seconds, then waved in front of him worriedly, noting that Jiang Xingyan's eyes were lifeless, no one would have noticed that he was also drunk.
Lin Xiuzhi drove all the drunkards in the family into the house and asked her eldest daughter-in-law to follow her to the kitchen to cook hangover soup. When Chu Sangning was playing hide-and-seek with Pan An in the yard, he suddenly looked up and found a head squatting in front of him.
She was so scared that she sat on the ground. She found out it was Jiang Xingyan and covered her heart with her hands: "Jiang Xingyan."
"Huh? What's wrong?" Jiang Xingyan drank too much, and the corners of his eyes were stained with a bit of decadent and gorgeous red. He squatted obediently in front of Chu Sangning, and his misty peach blossom eyes seemed to be covered with mist.
"You scared me. Scaring others can be fatal." Chu Sangning pouted unhappily, refusing to meet Jiang Xingyan's eyes.
The drunk Jiang Xingyan was so adorable, just like the little golden retriever Chu Sangning had seen before, so well-behaved and clever.
"I'm sorry." Jiang Xingyan lowered his proud head, his hair sticking to his forehead, and he stared at her blankly with sleepy eyes.
Chu Sangning raised her head. Under the sunlight, she could clearly see the man's half-drooped eyelids gradually turning red due to the alcohol. His tall figure was squatting in front of her. She didn't know if it was Chu Sangning's illusion, but she actually felt that Jiang Xingyan was a little nice to touch at this moment.
So cute, I want people to touch his head.
Chu Sangning coughed and hooked his finger, "Jiang Xingyan, come here, closer." Chu Sangning's voice was gentle, and the drunk Jiang Xingyan came forward in a daze.
The next second, a hand was placed on his head and rubbed it hard twice. Chu Sangning smiled contentedly. It was just as he imagined, soft and nice to touch.
Jiang Xingyan squatted in front of Chu Sangning, then murmured a few words unconsciously, and fell directly on Chu Sangning's shoulder, with his head on Chu Sangning's shoulder. If you didn't know, you would think the two were hugging each other.
"Sister, why are you still..." Jiang Pan'an was about to fall asleep while hiding, and he hadn't seen Chu Sangning yet. He couldn't hold his temper anymore, so he took the initiative to walk out.
But he found that his uncle was hugging Sister Chu.
Jiang Panan grinned and covered his eyes with his hands, like a thief hiding his ears, "I didn't see it, I didn't see anything."
Chu Sangning was unable to explain herself clearly even though she was right, and Jiang Pan'an had seen it. If she told anyone else, she might not be able to explain herself clearly even if she jumped into the Yellow River.
"Pan An, no, your uncle is drunk. I was holding him back just now, otherwise he would have fallen down."
Seeing that Jiang Pan'an didn't believe it, Chu Sangning threatened him: "If I hadn't stopped your uncle just now, what would have happened if he hit his head on a rock and started bleeding?"
Jiang Pan'an was young, so he believed everything Chu Sangning said. He looked at Chu Sangning with his big eyes and praised her sincerely, "Sister, you are such a nice person."
"It's okay, it's okay. For your uncle's sake, don't tell anyone, or he will definitely cry."
After Jiang Pan'an's repeated assurances, Chu Sangning finally felt relieved and let Jiang Xingyan go back to his room obediently.
The day passed in the blink of an eye. Because they had already had lunch at Luo's house, Lin Xiuzhi only made some soup in the evening and asked everyone to drink it and go to bed.
Chu Sangning was sleeping soundly in bed, but Zhao Jiayun, who had stabbed her today, was not sleepy at all.
In the evening, Zhao Jiayun sat by the bed with great anticipation, waiting for Luo Yiping to return to the room. After waiting for several hours, Luo Yiping finally came.
Without looking away, he picked up the mat from the cupboard and threw it on the ground.
Zhao Jiayun had a bad feeling in his heart. He took a deep breath and his face turned pale. He asked, "What are you doing?"
Luo Yiping quickly spread out the quilt and lay down under the bed without taking off his clothes. "I'll sleep on the floor tonight."
"Why, Luo Yiping, this is the first night of our marriage, and you want to sleep on the floor?" Zhao Jiayun's words were full of disbelief, as if he had seen a ghost.
He got out of bed with a smile on his face and kicked off Luo Yiping's quilt. "Are you humiliating me?"
On the first day of their marriage, the man refused to sleep in the same bed with her. In such a cold day, he would rather sleep on the floor than get up. Zhao Jiayun felt ashamed if she told others about it.
"No, I know you were forced to marry me, and I don't have that kind of thought towards you. As for mom, just keep it a secret from her." Luo Yiping explained.
Zhao Jiayun was furious after hearing this, and was speechless. "Hide it from her, are you going to keep it a secret for the rest of your life?"
Why, Zhao Jiayun didn't understand. She had already married Luo Yiping, why did this happen?
She picked up the pillow on the bed and threw it at Luo Yiping, glaring at him angrily: "Are you attracted to Chu Sangning? Are you still thinking about her?"
If he had not been married, Luo Yiping would have dared to nod and acknowledge it, but now he was already married, and he was planning to go to the county town with Zhao Jiayun to get the marriage certificate tomorrow. If he nodded, he would be destroying Chu Zhiqing's reputation.
Luo Yiping blushed and shouted, "What nonsense are you talking about?"
"Why am I talking nonsense? Which man in the village wouldn't look at her twice? Luo Yiping, I tell you, you're already married to me, so stop thinking about her."
Zhao Jiayun came back to her new life and tried to catch the man of her previous life, Chu Sang Ning. She was suspicious in her heart. Whenever Luo Yiping made the slightest move, she felt nervous that the whole world was out to snatch the man she liked.
Before Luo Yiping could say anything, Zhao Jiayun ran out without even putting on her shoes, crying, "I can't live like this anymore. I'm leaving."
