Chapter 104 Absence Makes the Heart Blossom

Chapter 104 Absence Makes the Heart Blossom

The door opened, and Qingyue was waiting anxiously at the door.

"Yao'er!" Qingyue rushed into the room, grabbed the unusually calm Su Yuyao, and asked softly, "Did Grandpa hit you?"

Su Yuyao shook her head.

Qingyue breathed a sigh of relief, looked at Langzhi, and complained, "You! Can't you change your temper?! You're always raising your hand to slap people!"

Lang Zhi resumed his cheeky expression, pulled Qing Yue close, and said, "I only raised my hand to slap her, I never actually hit her! How could I bear to!"

"You're so unserious!" Qingyue smiled and pushed Langzhi aside, then called out towards the door, "Su'e! Go make breakfast! Lord Langzhi is eating here!"

"Yes, Your Majesty!"

Su Yuyao was led back to her room by Bai Er to wash and dress up, Fei Hua was staring blankly in the courtyard with her chin in her hand, Fang Chun was helping Su E in the kitchen, and the doors and windows of the main house were tightly closed again...

Su Yuyao's feelings began to become very complicated.

She thought she would be praised for her meritorious service, but she almost got slapped instead; and Grandpa Langzhi, whom she thought would never get angry with her, just revealed his true colors in anger...

She couldn't describe the feeling of being wronged and disappointed; she felt as if everything she had done was wrong, even though she had given so much.

The breakfast was very plentiful!

Feihua hid in her room, watching Langzhi's expression, and refused to sit at the table.

Langzhi ate with relish, his face still flushed from Qingyue's meal.

Qingyue, calming her earlier excitement, served food to Su Yuyao under Lang Zhi's ardent gaze.

Su Yuyao had no appetite and just stared blankly while stirring the congee in her bowl.

Qingyue noticed Su Yuyao's unusual behavior and quickly touched Su Yuyao's forehead, "Yao'er, are you feeling unwell?"

“No…” Su Yuyao said, her head lowered.

Looking at the dejected Su Yuyao, Langzhi felt extremely guilty and gently coaxed her, "Yao'er, Grandpa was wrong! Grandpa promises! I'll never lose my temper again!"

Qingyue glanced at Langzhi, "Now you know you were wrong? No matter how I tried to persuade you, I couldn't stop you! If it weren't for Yao'er, how could we have resolved the flood crisis so quickly?!"

"Yes! Yes!" Langzhi nodded and said with a smile, "Yao'er is truly remarkable! However, you really took too much of a risk this time! Without an adult by your side, what if something happened..."

"Cough! Cough!" Qingyue cleared her throat and glared at Langzhi.

Seeing Qingyue's expression, Langzhi quickly apologized, "Ah... Yao'er, this time Grandpa was really wrong! Grandpa was rash! Grandpa didn't think things through! Please... forgive Grandpa!"

Su Yuyao raised her head, forced a smile, took a breath, and said, "I...I'm not angry with you..."

Lang Zhi also sensed Su Yuyao's unusual behavior. He stroked Su Yuyao's head, frowned, and asked carefully, "Yao'er... why... don't you call me Grandpa anymore?"

"Oh, Grandpa Langzhi, I'm really not angry..." Su Yuyao's cold words were like a thorn piercing Langzhi's heart.

Langzhi's eyes instantly welled up with tears. He rubbed his face in self-reproach and said in a low voice, "Yao'er, listen to Grandpa. Grandpa lost his temper just now because what you did was too dangerous! And not only did you put yourself in danger, you almost harmed the other children too! Baihu, Zangmao, and Fengzhan's parents are just as angry as Grandpa about your dangerous actions! So..."

"It won't happen again..." Su Yuyao didn't want to hear Lang Zhi's explanation because Lang Zhi's scolding this time was indeed beyond her tolerance.

Lang Zhi felt extremely regretful for his recklessness. Looking at Su Yuyao, whose mood had never been so low, he wished he could slap himself.

Qingyue sensed Su Yuyao's disappointment and sadness. She gently tucked a stray hair behind Su Yuyao's ear and said softly, "Yao'er, Grandpa Langzhi dotes on you the most, so he was so angry when he heard you did something dangerous..."

"Hmm..." Su Yuyao picked up a few grains of porridge, put them in her mouth, and replied softly, "I understand."

“Yao’er, how about…” Langzhi glanced at Qingyue, “I’ll have… someone make some chicken soup?”

Qingyue's aura gradually intensified, and she glared at Langzhi with sidelong glances.

Langzhi smiled obsequiously and said, "Look at you! You're just... trying to coax Yao'er..."

Su Yuyao raised her eyes and looked at Lang Zhi and Qing Yue, whose atmosphere was subtly tense. Suddenly, she felt incredibly lonely and helpless, and even a little like she couldn't hold on any longer...

She glanced at the seemingly peaceful courtyard outside the door, then at the sky framed by the door frame...

Why do I need to add unnecessary burdens to myself? Why do I have to live so cautiously? What should I do to avoid being criticized? What should I do to avoid making mistakes?

If my mother and father were still alive, I would be living a much happier life now!

If... I hadn't left Qianlong Town, even if no one loved me, I wouldn't have gone through all those twists and turns, and I wouldn't have lived in constant fear and anxiety every day!

If... I abandon my obsession and leave this place, will I be able to live the life I want?

But... can I still leave now?

How should I leave?

Su Yuyao lowered her head, lost in thought, her heart growing heavier.

Qingyue and Langzhi, having heard Su Yuyao's heartfelt words, were already heartbroken and deeply pained.

"Yao'er..." Qingyue gently stroked Su Yuyao's head, but she couldn't bring herself to express the bond between the three of them. She could only ask softly, "What... are you thinking about?"

"Your Majesty," Su Yuyao said, stirring the now-cold porridge in her bowl, "I...miss my mother and father..."

Qingyue felt as if she had been struck a heavy blow, and tears welled up in her eyes uncontrollably...

Suddenly, the cry of an eagle pierced the heavy, damp morning.

Everyone was shocked!

There were a few fluttering sounds, and then the area outside the courtyard became lively.

Qingyue and Langzhi quickly stood up and ran out.

Su Yuyao sat blankly at the table, watching the courtyard outside gradually become lively, then slowly stood up and walked out...

A crowd had gathered in the open space in front of the Vermilion Bird Palace.

In the middle of the crowd, the eagle shook off the dust, retracted its wings, and transformed into human form.

The tall figure in a dark cloak standing next to Flying Eagle was talking to the others.

"Sorry everyone! I'm late!" The familiar voice, though gentle, struck Su Yuyao's heart clearly.

She stood blankly at the courtyard gate, watching the crowd slowly part, and the figure she had been longing for gradually appeared!

Tears welled in her eyes, while his gaze was filled with longing; she looked at his weathered face and dark beard, while he looked at her fair and rounded figure; she looked at him, travel-worn and covered in dust, while he looked at her delicate and ethereal beauty; she looked at his resolute face and pouted, while he looked at her powerful aura and frowned; she sobbed softly, and he hurried forward…

"Xuanfeng! You're back!" Feihua rushed past Su Yuyao and threw herself into Xuanfeng's arms.

"Ugh! It stinks!" Fei Hua gagged again and ran back to the yard.

Xuanfeng smiled awkwardly, walked up to Su Yuyao, tilted his head to look at his girl, and said, "Girl, I'm back!"

He slightly opened his arms, raised an eyebrow at Su Yuyao, and asked with a smile, "Aren't you coming? Or do you dislike me too?"

Su Yuyao was already in tears, and choked out, "You bad guy... why did you... only come back now?"

Seeing Su Yuyao's pitiful appearance, Xuanfeng quickly stepped forward, hugged her in his arms, and said softly, "Girl, I'm sorry I'm late. Were you waiting anxiously?"

"Hmm... I'm anxious..." In an instant, all the longing, all the grievances, all the fear and worry burst forth at the same time.

"Ah—! Ah—!" Su Yuyao hugged Xuanfeng tightly, opened her mouth wide, and cried loudly without caring about anything else.

The deafening cries made Xuanfeng hug his girl even tighter. He gently shook Su Yuyao and whispered, "You've worked so hard, my girl, you've worked so hard..."

"Hmm... It's tough... Ah—! Ah—!" Xuan Feng's few words completely shattered all of Su Yuyao's negative emotions.

She let out a loud cry and sobbed uncontrollably. For so many days, she had never dared to cry so freely, nor had she ever cried so comfortably.

Xuanfeng did not stop Su Yuyao from crying; he simply held her quietly and gently comforted her.

Qingyue glanced at the crowd gathered to the side, waiting to report to Xuanfeng, and then at Su Yuyao, who was crying incessantly. Although she felt very sorry for her, she had no choice but to say, "Yao'er, so many people are waiting for Xuanfeng, perhaps..."

“Aunt!” Xuanfeng frowned, stopping Qingyue from speaking.

"Excuse me, sirs! I'm late!" Qi Men's voice came just in time from the air. "Please follow me, sirs!"

Xuanfeng turned around, looked at Qimen who had just landed behind him, smiled knowingly, and said, "Immortal Master, thank you for your trouble."

Qi Men looked at Xuan Feng, who was holding Su Yuyao tightly and reluctant to let go, nodded, and then led everyone into the Vermilion Bird Palace.

Su Yuyao leaned against Xuanfeng's chest, pressing her head tightly against his chest, listening to his strong heartbeat, smelling his familiar scent, and venting all her grievances without restraint.

After a long while, my empty and restless heart finally settled down.

"Little girl, why have you stopped crying?" Xuanfeng gently asked, stroking Su Yuyao's back. "Are you tired?"

I'm really tired!

Last night's panic, fear, and relief, and this morning's dread, depression, and turmoil, have exhausted all of Su Yuyao's strength to put on a brave face.

"Do you want me to carry you back to your room?" Xuanfeng asked softly, sniffing Su Yuyao's neck.

"Hmm?" Su Yuyao felt the warm breath of Xuanfeng, and her heart began to beat faster.

She recalled the comfort of melting in Xuanfeng's arms, and blushed, letting out a soft "hmm."

Xuan Feng's lips curled slightly. He placed one hand on Su Yuyao's shoulder and the other under her buttocks, and with a little force, he easily pulled Su Yuyao into his arms.

Bai Er smiled and led Xuan Feng into Su Yu Yao's bedroom, then closed the doors and windows for the two of them.

Xuanfeng gently placed Su Yuyao on the bed, then knelt on one knee beside it, holding Su Yuyao's chubby little hand in his palm. He looked tenderly into Su Yuyao's fluffy eyes and asked softly, "Little girl, do you still want to cry?"

Looking at the masculine face before her, weathered by wind and sun, Su Yuyao couldn't suppress her flustered heartbeat and shook her head slightly.

“Well…” Xuanfeng looked thoughtfully at the rosy-cheeked girl, then smiled and said, “You get some rest, I have some things to take care of…”

"Huh?!" Su Yuyao abruptly pulled her hand away, gripped Xuanfeng's collar tightly, and frowned as she asked, "Are you leaving already?"

"Then..." Xuanfeng narrowed his eyes, scrutinizing Su Yuyao's increasingly alluring face, and slowly moved his face closer. "Tell me, when should I leave?"

Su Yuyao was instantly enveloped by Xuan Feng's strong masculine aura. Her heart seemed to stop beating, her throat tightened, and her body gradually went limp.

As Xuan Feng drew closer, Su Yuyao retreated a step; as Xuan Feng pressed closer, Su Yuyao succumbed a step... until finally, Su Yuyao was pinned tightly to the bed by Xuan Feng.

"Little girl, do you know how much I miss you?" Xuan Feng's breath brushed against Su Yuyao's nose. "But right now, I don't have time..."

Su Yuyao's heart stopped beating, and her ears were ringing.

She couldn't hear what Xuanfeng was saying, but his scent entered her nostrils, arousing Su Yuyao's sensitive body.

She closed her eyes, sniffed the source of the scent, raised her chin, and gently kissed it.

The smell suddenly stopped, replaced by increasingly rapid breathing.

Su Yuyao stuck out her tongue and used the tip of her tongue to pry open Xuanfeng's dry lips, gently probing into his hot mouth.

Xuanfeng was somewhat surprised, and also a little delighted. He tried to control his body with reason, but Su Yuyao's peach-flavored tongue kept arousing his instinctive desires, causing this once abstinent Heavenly Lord to gradually break free from his conscious control.

Su Yuyao extended a warm invitation, which was met with an enthusiastic response in no time.

A whirlwind of kisses swept across her neck; her eyes were glazed, she bit her lip, trying to stifle a sound. Dew-laden peach blossoms slowly bloomed, and the whirlwind gently caressed her moist doorway.

Xuanfeng looked at the rapidly heaving belly in front of him, savoring the sweet peach juice in his mouth, then stood up, lifted his robe, and slowly leaned down to whisper in Su Yuyao's ear, "Little girl, do you want it?"

"Yes!" Su Yuyao replied softly.

The gentle breeze, calm and unhurried, caresses every inch of skin, whispers every thought of longing, and fills every void.

He spoke tenderly, and she responded to every word; each response led to a deeper and more profound expression of his feelings…

Xuanfeng quickened his pace, and Su Yuyao took the opportunity to catch up.

The sticky sounds grew louder and louder. Su Yuyao's legs trembled, she arched her body, gripped Xuanfeng's arm tightly, and loudly responded to Xuanfeng's profound and affectionate confession...

Until Xuanfeng once again lit the long-lost fireworks in Su Yuyao's mountain valley.

Su Yuyao felt the fireworks spreading through her body like ripples on water, wave after wave...

After a long while, she slowly calmed her pounding body and came to her senses.

Su Yuyao slightly opened her eyes and saw Xuan Feng admiring her with a smile on his face.

"What...are you looking at..." Su Yuyao felt a little embarrassed by Xuanfeng's stare.

Xuanfeng smiled and slowly withdrew from Su Yuyao's body.

Su Yuyao couldn't help but hum softly again.

Xuanfeng suppressed a laugh and said, "It seems you really miss me!"

Su Yuyao blushed and pouted, saying, "I think it's you who misses me more!"

Xuanfeng chuckled, pressing himself back onto Su Yuyao's body, feeling her softness and strength. "Girl, you're right, it's me who missed you more! Otherwise, how could I have surrendered so easily after you seduced me?"

"Giggle, giggle!" Su Yuyao was amused by Xuanfeng and couldn't stop laughing.

"Alright," Xuanfeng kissed Su Yuyao's smile, "I have to go take care of some important things. There are so many things to deal with! And..."

Xuanfeng asked with a somewhat grave expression, "Does this mean... we still can't have children?"

Su Yuyao nodded solemnly as well.

Xuanfeng sighed and placed his palm on Su Yuyao's lower abdomen.

Su Yuyao felt a heat in her lower abdomen, and a warm current surged out instantly.

Su Yuyao shyly pulled the blanket over herself.

Xuanfeng smiled as he looked at Su Yuyao, who seemed to have grown up yet still looked childish. He stood up, straightened his clothes, and called out, "Bai Er! Come in!"

"Yes, sir!" Bai Er cheerfully carried a basin of warm water and pushed open the door to enter.

"My lord!" Bai Er slightly curtsied and said, "Please wash your face!"

"Okay." Xuanfeng unfolded his wrist guard and washed away the dust that had accumulated over the past few days.

Bai Er looked at Su Yuyao hiding under the covers and said with a smile, "Miss, let me help you take a bath in a little while!"

"I don't want to take a bath!" Su Yuyao pointed at Xuanfeng, who was washing his face, and said, "He should be the one washing! He's covered in sweat and mud!"

Bai Er covered her lips with her fingertips and chuckled to herself.

"Girl! Why didn't you complain about my stench just now?" Xuan Feng wiped his face, leaned down to look at Su Yuyao, and pinched Su Yuyao's nose, saying, "Now that you've fed me, you start complaining about me!"

"Hehe..." Su Yuyao chuckled warmly, reaching out to pinch Xuanfeng's earlobe and saying, "Today is an exception. Next time you smell like this, you're not allowed to come near me!"

Xuanfeng reached out and pinched Su Yuyao's chubby cheeks, asking with a smile, "You... can resist?"

Su Yuyao's face flushed red, and she buried her head under the covers.

Xuanfeng smiled and turned to Bai'er, who was covering her mouth and chuckling, and said, "Let the girl rest a little longer, don't disturb her."

"Yes, sir!" White Ears replied cheerfully.

Xuanfeng straightened his clothes and regained his majestic demeanor as the Heavenly Emperor. He turned to look at Su Yuyao on the bed.

Su Yuyao's long, black hair cascaded down her chest, making her skin appear even whiter. Her bright, blinking eyes touched Xuanfeng's heart with every blink.

Xuanfeng couldn't suppress the upturn of his lips as he looked at the elfin-like Su Yuyao. His once lonely heart was now filled with happiness, and his tireless body was instantly brimming with strength.

"Girl, get some rest. I'll be back as soon as I've finished taking care of things!"

Su Yuyao pouted and said in a sweet voice, "Then come back quickly!"

“Alright!” Xuanfeng replied with a smile.
