Chapter 107 The Strange Old Lady
The old woman sensed Su Yuyao's gradually increasing aura and hurriedly tried to pull her fingers away, wanting to retreat.
Su Yuyao suddenly opened her eyes, glaring fiercely at the face before her, which, though surprised, remained calm. The pressure in her hand increased...
Bang!
A wisp of yellow dust drifted before Su Yuyao's resolute eyes.
The old woman suddenly took a few steps back, steadied herself, looked at her hand missing a finger, and sneered, "You little brat, you really went all out! You just like her!"
Su Yuyao ignored the old woman's words and focused on sensing the inexplicable power within her body...
Could this be the Qi circulation?
How can I control it? Ah! That's right! When meditating, I use my mind to control the flow of Qi! Do I need to use my mind to control it now too? How do I do that? I can't calm my mind...
Ugh!
Before Su Yuyao could figure it out, a tree branch whistled down and smashed towards her face!
Protecting Fei Hua who was crouching behind her, Su Yuyao dared not dodge easily. She had no choice but to draw the crescent blade from her waist, infuse it with Qi, rotate her wrist, and sweep it horizontally across the tree branch!
clang!
The crescent blade slashed fiercely at the tree branch, producing a sound like metal clashing.
It's not a tree branch?!
Su Yuyao had neither the mood nor the time to figure out what this was.
She increased her Qi again and slashed back with her sword. This time, the sound was louder and the force was stronger, causing her arm to tremble slightly uncontrollably.
Su Yuyao steadied herself, narrowed her eyes and stared intently at the large tree branch that was gradually moving away and then suddenly crashing down. She swung her crescent-shaped blade, which was radiating a golden killing intent, and used its sharpest edge to cut into the steel-like branch!
Squeak—click—!
The piercing sound stabbed at Su Yuyao's eardrums, further disturbing her already panicked state of mind.
puff!
A colorless, foul-smelling liquid sprayed onto Su Yuyao's face!
"Huff! Huff!" Su Yuyao's energy field suddenly weakened. She leaned on the branch she had cut down and kept vomiting while holding her waist.
Honey candy, bone broth... Su Yuyao vomited while expressing her regret.
"Yao'er... stinks..." Fei Hua muttered, squatting not far away, covering her nose.
Su Yuyao wiped her mouth and struggled to stand up. Only then did she realize that the strange old woman was gone and the surrounding scenery had returned to normal.
"Feihua... hurry up!" Su Yuyao leaned weakly on a tree branch, pulled Feihua along, and ran outwards along the mountain path.
"Feihua, remember this! When you get back, whatever you do, don't mention what happened!" Su Yuyao whispered in Feihua's ear, "Especially in front of Xuanfeng and the Empress! Whatever you do, don't say a word!"
"Okay, I won't say." Fei Hua nodded seriously.
"Good! Feihua is so good!" Su Yuyao smiled with satisfaction, then asked, "If Xuanfeng and the Empress ask what we did, just say we played with the children for a while and then went back. Remember that?"
"Yes, I played with the children for a while," Feihua said earnestly.
“That’s right!” Su Yuyao nodded in satisfaction.
“Insect leg.” Fei Hua stared blankly at Su Yuyao’s hand and murmured.
"A bug...leg?! Ah!" Su Yuyao followed Fei Hua's gaze to her hand and was shocked to find that the tree branch she was holding had turned into a bug leg covered in fuzz!
Startled, Su Yuyao threw the leg she was holding into the bushes and, pulling Feihua along, ran back in silence...
Under the century-old tree, Xuanfeng sat on a stone bench with a smile, watching the two children in front of him act out how their candy had been stolen.
"Sister Yao'er just snatched the candy away and then ate it..." A child said, still a little sad, and squeezed out two lines of tears.
"And then?" Xuanfeng stretched out his sleeve to wipe the tears off the child's face and asked with a smile.
"Then, Sister Yao'er took the fairy to the dense forest to ask the old lady for candy!" another child shouted.
"Oh, went to ask for candy..." Xuanfeng patted the child's head and asked gently, "How long were you gone?"
"It's been a while, I guess they've all started eating..." The child, who had been crying, started to feel aggrieved again.
Xuanfeng looked at the child, who looked aggrieved after Su Yuyao snatched his candy, and felt both annoyed and amused.
You brat! You're always causing trouble or bullying children!
Hmm? This Qi field?! Xuanfeng narrowed his eyes slightly, sensing this chaotic, reckless, and panicked Qi field...
Su Yuyao dragged Feihua along as they ran, wiping her face with her sleeve as she ran, "What sprayed all over my face! It smells awful!"
“It stinks,” Fei Hua summed it up succinctly.
Su Yuyao looked back and thankfully, that old hag hadn't caught up with her!
"Sister Yao'er! Sister Yao'er!" The two children saw Su Yuyao running towards them from a distance and rushed over to greet her, asking curiously, "Did you get the candy?"
Su Yuyao stopped, panting, and said, "Want...want my ass! Are you...are you playing me for a fool...?"
She caught her breath and pointed at the two children, scolding, "I'll remember you two! How dare you make up lies to trick me into asking for candy? You almost got me killed! I don't care! You have to give me candy!"
"We don't have any candy! It was really the old lady who gave it to us!" the children said, feeling wronged. "We don't have any candy to give you back!"
"No candy? Then put it on the tab!" Su Yuyao said, pulling Feihua along. "You two! Go home and get some good food! If it suits our tastes, I'll let you off the hook! Otherwise..."
"Otherwise, what do you want to do, Su Yuyao?" A familiar, magnetic voice drifted over.
Su Yuyao trembled, her eyes darting around as she saw a figure in a light green robe approaching gracefully. The figure had her hair tied up high, her hair was neat and tidy, her face was healthy, her lips were pink, and her eyes were resolute and extremely imposing.
She stared, stunned, her heart pounding wildly again, and a blush crept onto her cheeks. "Xuan... Xuanfeng... you're done showering..."
"Xuanfeng! You're back!" Feihua broke free from Su Yuyao's grasp, threw herself into Xuanfeng's arms, and looked at him tenderly. "You've come back to marry me?"
"Feihua!" Su Yuyao angrily stepped forward, pulled Feihua away, and snuggled into Xuanfeng's arms. "Xuanfeng won't marry you! The person he wants to marry is me!"
As she spoke, Su Yuyao raised her face, looked at Xuan Feng's handsome face, and her eyes began to glaze over again.
"Right?" Su Yuyao pursed her lips and asked softly.
Seeing Su Yuyao's infatuated expression, Xuanfeng's anger subsided considerably. He hugged Su Yuyao tightly, but a strong, fishy stench made him frown.
"Where have you been?" he asked coldly.
"Yao'er said she can't tell you and Lady Qingyue," Feihua said, pulling Su Yuyao away.
"Shut up, Fei Hua!" Su Yuyao turned around and shouted at Fei Hua, "I didn't say that!"
"Oh, right, she didn't say that!" Fei Hua snuggled closer to Xuan Feng. "Yao'er said we only played with the children for a little while!"
Su Yuyao dominated Xuanfeng, refusing to back down, but was gradually pushed out by the tall and strong Feihua.
"Feihua!" Su Yuyao shouted angrily, "You're not allowed to let Xuanfeng hug you!"
Feihua nestled her head against Xuanfeng's chest. "Xuanfeng, you said you'd come back and marry me!"
Xuanfeng looked at Feihua in his arms, who was completely different from the person he remembered, and his heart trembled slightly, a bitter feeling welling up inside him.
He gently cradled Feihua and asked softly, "Feihua, were you good when I wasn't around?"
"Good girl!" Fei Hua's empty eyes gleamed slightly.
"Have you kept an eye on the girl for me?" Xuanfeng continued to ask.
“Hmm… Yao’er is disobedient… causing trouble!” A strange smile gradually appeared on Fei Hua’s face. “But… she saved us…”
Xuanfeng frowned slightly as he looked at the deranged Feihua in his arms. "You know... that the girl saved you?"
"Ah, she also... saved you! Hehehehe!" Fei Hua's laughter grew increasingly eerie.
Xuanfeng trembled even more violently. Feihua actually... knew everything?!
Su Yuyao stood aside watching Xuanfeng cling to Feihua, her chest tightening again, and her eyes and nose filled with acid reflux.
She puffed out her belly angrily, frowned, held back her tears, and pursed her lips.
I'm not angry! I'm not angry! Feihua is sick! Xuanfeng should comfort her... he should... why should he? He shouldn't!
Su Yuyao's tears fell down in a steady stream.
"Sister Yao'er, why are you crying?" The two children asked in surprise as they looked at Su Yuyao, who was crying.
"Girl!" Xuanfeng then noticed Su Yuyao's jealous expression and quickly released his grip on Feihua's hand.
Unexpectedly, the flying flower clung tightly to Xuanfeng's waist like a pendant.
Xuanfeng dared not struggle too hard, so he could only hold Feihua with one hand and reach out to hold Su Yuyao with the other.
Su Yuyao dodged Xuanfeng's hand with a swift movement, lifted her skirt, and ran towards the mountaintop.
"Hey!" Xuanfeng wanted to call out to Su Yuyao, but seeing the situation, he knew he couldn't stop his girl, so he awkwardly withdrew his hand.
The two children then understood why and covered their mouths to chuckle.
Xuanfeng looked helplessly at the two children who were watching the drama unfold. He couldn't escape Feihua's enthusiasm, nor could he keep up with Su Yuyao's pace. So he could only drag the infatuated Feihua along, step by step, towards the Vermilion Bird Palace...
Su Yuyao's little courtyard has become lively again!
Qingyue finally agreed to let Langzhi live in the woodshed in the courtyard until the manure drying yard was fully renovated.
Langzhi then happily revealed his true form and hurriedly tidied up the house.
Although this room used to house white rice cakes and smelled a bit bad, it was nothing compared to the hut in the previous manure drying yard.
"Miss, you're back!" Bai Er saw Su Yuyao run into the courtyard and rushed over excitedly, only to find Su Yuyao's face covered in tears. "What... happened?"
"Fairy! Fairy!" Fangchun also came out to greet her, looking around behind Su Yuyao twice, but not seeing Feihua's figure, she immediately became nervous, "Miss, where is our fairy?"
Su Yuyao was so frustrated that she couldn't speak, and could only sob and shed tears.
"Miss?! What happened?!" Fangchun asked anxiously, grabbing Su Yuyao's arm. "You've lost the fairy again?!"
Su Yuyao shook her head, still unable to speak.
"Yao'er!" Langzhi climbed out of the house and asked anxiously, "Yao'er, what's wrong? What happened? Tell Grandpa!"
Upon seeing Lang Zhi's spider-like appearance, Su Yuyao was startled again. Overwhelmed by grievance and fear, she could no longer control her emotions, opened her mouth, and burst into tears.
Qingyue was busy in the kitchen when she suddenly heard Su Yuyao crying. Her heart skipped a beat, and she quickly went out to check.
"Langzhi! Why aren't you tidying up the house properly? Why are you scaring Yao'er?!" Qingyue scolded angrily as Langzhi transformed into a giant spider and brandished its claws in front of Su Yuyao.
"Ah! Oh dear," Langzhi quickly transformed back into human form and used his rough hands to wipe away Su Yuyao's tears. "Grandpa was wrong! Grandpa forgot, our Yao'er was scared... um?"
Langzhi was stunned when he smelled the fishy smell on Su Yuyao's face.
"Yao'er, what happened to you?" Langzhi asked in a low voice.
"Hmm?" Su Yuyao lowered her sobs and looked at Lang Zhi in surprise.
"Is it...a person? Or something else?" Langzhi asked again in a low voice.
Su Yuyao blinked and hesitated before saying, "It was... an old lady... um... a bug..."
"Langzhi! Yao'er is afraid of bugs, and you're scaring her!" Qingyue pushed Langzhi away, pulled Su Yuyao into her arms, and frowned as she said, "Yao'er, why do you... smell like this? Where did you go crazy again? Where's Feihua?" As she spoke, Qingyue took out a handkerchief to wipe away the tears on Su Yuyao's face.
“Feihua…” Su Yuyao thought of Xuanfeng holding Feihua again, and tears fell uncontrollably.
"Girl!" Xuanfeng stepped into the courtyard with Feihua in his arms, immediately attracting everyone's attention.
"Uh..." Xuanfeng felt very uncomfortable under the stares of several pairs of eyes. He tugged at Feihua, who was tightly hugging him, and said helplessly to Fangchun, "Granny Fangchun, could you please help me up..."
"Huh?" Fangchun looked at Su Yuyao, who was pouting and crying, and then at Feihua, who was happily hugging Xuanfeng. "Ah! Yes!"
Fangchun quickly stepped forward and took Feihua's arm, "Fairy! Let's go back inside and rest for a while!"
"No! No!" Feihua cried out, refusing to let go.
"Then... shall we go see what delicious food Her Majesty has made?" Fangchun coaxed softly again.
"Hmm... okay!" Feihua thought for a moment, then readily let go of Fangchun's hand and obediently followed her into the room.
Xuanfeng finally breathed a sigh of relief, straightened his clothes which had been disheveled by the flying petals, and turned to look at Su Yuyao, who was being protected in Qingyue's arms.
He slightly opened his arms, tilted his head, and said with a smile, "Little girl, come on!"
Su Yuyao blinked her moist eyes, looked at Xuan Feng, and her heart suddenly softened.
She pouted and threw herself into Xuanfeng's arms, sniffing the long-lost yet familiar scent, muttering, "You stinky bastard, if you dare hug her again, I'm really going to ignore you!"
Xuanfeng hugged his girl tightly, squeezed her soft waist, and whispered in her blushing ear, "You brat, how dare you speak ill of me like that?"
Su Yuyao secretly glanced at Qingyue, whose face was not good, and Langzhi, whose face was extremely bad, and whispered, "If you say it in your heart, the Empress will find out and I will be scolded! In the future, if you make me angry again, I will scold you directly!"
Xuanfeng looked at Su Yuyao in his arms and said thoughtfully, "Little girl, you've grown up again!"
Su Yuyao smiled happily and said, "The Immortal Master also said I've grown up! I've gotten taller! But I've also gotten fatter..."
“Not this one,” Xuanfeng said, shaking his head.
"What is that?" Su Yuyao tilted her head, thinking, then suddenly blushed and pouted, saying, "You! You...you're so annoying!"
"Huh?" Xuanfeng was stunned for a moment, then suddenly burst into laughter, pressed his body close to Su Yuyao's chest, and whispered in her ear, "They... have indeed grown up! But I'm not talking about them!"
Su Yuyao was tickled by Xuanfeng again. She swayed her body and asked in a coquettish voice, "If it's not those two, then what is it?"
"You... have some nerve!"
Su Yuyao's heart skipped a beat, her body stiffened, and she nervously swallowed, "Ah... courage... courage..."
