Chapter 12 Chicken Soup

Chapter 12 Chicken Soup

Mrs. Su put the chicken in a basin, then scooped a ladle of water from the pot with a ladle, aimed it at the chicken in the basin, and poured the boiling water. The boiling water flowed down like a waterfall, and soon after the ladle of water was poured out, she scooped another ladle of water and poured it into the basin again until the whole chicken was submerged.

Mrs. Su waited for a while until the water was no longer as hot as before. She rolled up her sleeves and prepared to start plucking the chicken feathers. She held the chicken tightly with both hands and gently pulled with her fingers, and the chicken feathers fell off one by one.

After a while, all the chicken feathers were plucked cleanly. Then, Mrs. Su brought a basin of clean hot water, put the plucked hen in the basin, and then she picked up a kitchen knife and chopped the chicken into small pieces.

After chopping them, Mrs. Su put them back into the basin and poured hot water into it again. She let the chicken pieces soak in the water for a while to let the blood bubble out. After the blood bubbled out, Mrs. Su started to stew the chicken soup.

This is a farm-raised chicken! Paired with the traditional clay stove and firewood, it is a perfect combination. Although only a little salt is added as a seasoning when stewing the soup, the rich aroma is still unstoppable.

It simmered over low heat, and after a while, a fragrance wafted out through the cracks in the door and window. Su Mingyue, who was sleeping soundly, was awakened by the charming aroma.

Su Mingyue sniffed, touched her rumbling stomach, and slowly stood up. She felt much better and not as weak anymore. So she slowly got out of bed, opened the door, and slowly walked towards the kitchen, which was filled with fragrance.

When I arrived at the kitchen, I saw Su Qingfeng squatting at the kitchen door, swallowing his saliva and watching the smoke rising from the pot.

When Old Mrs. Su saw Su Qingfeng like this, her heart ached. It would have been so great if the second son and his wife were still alive!

Mrs. Su was immersed in her own thoughts when she suddenly caught a glimpse of a figure standing quietly at the kitchen door. She looked closely and found that it was Su Mingyue who had been standing there without her knowing when.

Su Mingyue's beautiful eyes were staring at the chicken soup in the pot. Although her eyes revealed an undisguised desire, her fair face was expressionless and wooden.

However, if you look closely, you can still see her eager anticipation for this fragrant chicken soup from the depths of her clear eyes.

The moment Mrs. Su saw Su Mingyue, her heart shuddered. She quickly came to her senses, and a look of concern and anger appeared on her face. She shouted at Su Mingyue: "Oh, my little ancestor, you really scared me to death! Why did you come down for no reason? Why don't you lie down on the bed and rest? How do you feel now? Are you feeling uncomfortable? Are you still dizzy?"

As soon as she finished speaking, Mrs. Su seemed to remember something and couldn't help laughing. She continued, "These days you have been acting like a little adult, pretending to be so serious.

I was wondering if you were going to continue like this. Who would have thought that just after a pot of fragrant chicken soup was cooked, your true face would be revealed! Hahaha, look at your greedy little appearance, you and Qingfeng are just two little greedy cats carved from the same mold!"

As Mrs. Su spoke, she helped Su Mingyue from outside to inside and let her sit on a small chair. Su Mingyue was teased by Mrs. Su, so she pretended to be the original owner and smiled at Mrs. Su shyly.

He said, "The soup my grandma cooked was so delicious. I couldn't help it and had a drink. I don't feel uncomfortable anymore and I'm not dizzy anymore." He then touched his stomach and said, "I'm just a little hungry."

Old Mrs. Su said with a smile on her face: "Don't worry, just wait a little longer, we can eat soon! Just drinking soup won't fill your stomach, grandma will mix some dough and put a few cakes on it for you, and eat it with chicken soup, it will be so delicious that your teeth will fall in love with it, haha!"

As soon as she finished speaking, the old lady walked to the big vat where the flour was placed and scooped out some golden cornmeal and white cornmeal. Then, she poured the two kinds of flour together, added a proper amount of water and began to knead the dough. After a while, a dough ball was ready.

Afterwards, the old lady pinched the dough into small pieces and pressed them repeatedly with both hands until they were in the shape of pancakes. Then, she stuck the pancakes one by one on the edge of the hot iron pot. As time passed, waves of tempting aroma gradually wafted out of the pot.

After a while, the meal was finally ready. It was getting dark. Old Mrs. Su took the cooked meal out of the pot.

The three of them, the grandfather and his grandson, each held a large bowl filled with steaming, delicious chicken soup and golden cakes that had just come out of the pot.

Su Mingyue and Su Qingfeng, brother and sister, could not wait to eat with big mouthfuls, enjoying the food with gusto. The meat in their bowls was obviously much more than that in Old Lady Su's, but Old Lady Su herself was reluctant to eat any, leaving only a small piece of meat in her own bowl.

Despite this, seeing her grandchildren eating happily and contentedly, Mrs. Su's face was always filled with a happy and kind smile.

Su Mingyue noticed that there was only one piece of meat in Mrs. Su's bowl, so she picked out a few pieces of meat from her own bowl and put them into Mrs. Su's bowl, making Mrs. Su so happy that she couldn't stop praising her, "Oh, my Mingyue is so thoughtful!"

Su Qingfeng, who was sitting nearby, saw her sister's actions and followed her example by picking up a few pieces of meat from his own bowl and gently placing them in Mrs. Su's bowl.

At this moment, Old Madam Su was overjoyed and said to Su Mingyue and Su Qingfeng, "You two are really my little sweethearts! It's not in vain that I love you so much!"

After Mrs. Su finished speaking, she looked lovingly at her granddaughter and grandson in front of her, and used chopsticks to pick out two pieces of meat from the bowl that had just been added. She first gave them to Su Mingyue, and then put them into Su Qingfeng's bowl.

She kept saying, "Good boy, grandma is old and can't eat that much meat. Don't waste it. Mingyue, you have such a big wound on your head. You need to eat more to replenish your body. And Qingfeng, you are still growing up. You need to eat more too!"

Su Mingyue stared at Old Lady Su silently, and suddenly a strange emotion surged in her heart. This feeling was too strange for her, who had always lived alone in the distant interstellar space.
