"What? You want me to be the female lead? And you're the second lead?" Wanzi pushed up her pink glasses. Lin Weiwei's idea was really strange. She was an internet celebrity, not the female lead, yet she wanted to be the one to play the role.
“That’s right. I remember you got a major demerit for fighting, and your credits were reduced to only two. You know that making a school promotional video can add ten credits, and as long as you do well in your exams this semester, Principal Lin can remove the major demerit from your credits.”
Lin Weiwei glanced at Wanzi's outfit; it was very fashionable and perfectly suited the image of a rebellious agent. Coupled with her own personality—quick-witted and quick to adapt to new things—it shouldn't be hard to understand.
Such temptation made Li Tao hesitate. She knew that the eldest sister Han Han did not like Weiwei, but she was about to graduate and take her exams this year. Her parents had high expectations for her because she came from the countryside.
During the break, Han Han watched curiously as he twirled his pen in the distance, wondering what Lin Weiwei was up to now.
When the school bell rang, the two of them entered the classroom one after the other. Weiwei handed the manuscript in her hand to Kuaizui, who glanced at the script and covered his mouth to chuckle.
Rou Rou nudged Han's shoulder. "Big Sister, this Weiwei seems to be very interested in the dumplings." With rice grains still stuck to her lips, she hid the sushi in the drawer.
When Ms. Luo Luo came to teach Chinese class, she closed the door as soon as she entered the classroom, holding the test papers in her hands.
"Ugh, another test!" The forty students in the class started muttering and throwing their pens on the ground in frustration.
But then Xiao Se stood up, slammed his hand on the table, and yelled, "Pick up the pens on the floor! Otherwise, you'll have to stay and do chores tonight. It's just a test, what's there to complain about?" He was unusually irritated. Fine, he wouldn't be the lead actor, let the other students do it, but he was given a script. The script only had two words: "Begin." A timed running instructor, his face barely appearing on screen for ten seconds—it was infuriating!
Who did Lin Weiwei give the male lead role to? Is she supposed to direct and star in the entire show all by herself?
As expected, Xiao Se's words stunned the students. Why was he suddenly so angry? They picked up the test paper, muttered a few words, and started passing it around, taking out their pens to write.
However, when it was passed to Lin Weiwei, she hesitated for a long time before the classmate behind her urged her to come back to her senses.
Xiao Se picked up his pen, glanced at Lin Weiwei, who used to sit at the desk to his right, and hesitated for a long time before putting pen to paper. "Really? Even top students have problems they can't solve?"
The first question he looked at was a multiple-choice question: 1. Which group has all the pronunciations and forms of the underlined characters in the text correct?
A. 了 (liáo) 望天暮 (mù) 俯俯 (kàn)
B. Dark and swaying, lingering
C. The bright moon shines down; exactly the same.
The answer is obviously B. How could she not understand such a simple question? Does she not have a solid foundation in Chinese? No wonder her script is full of punctuation mistakes and typos. She even called Maruko away just now, thinking that Maruko had written it for her.
He didn't care about the woman's grades; he just wanted to be a couch potato with some screen time.
The class ended just like that. During the self-study period, when Teacher Luo Luo asked them to go to the meeting room to rehearse, he took his script, went in, opened the door, and took a look.
The male lead is a fast talker, the female lead is a dumpling, and she is the second female lead. The character card on her chest makes him feel unbelievable.
"Xiao Se, hurry up! We're all waiting for you!" Wanzi said irritably, hands on her hips, while holding the manuscript in her hand. She then turned to Lin Weiwei and grinned sheepishly.
"Fine, you Li Tao, you opportunist." He gritted his teeth and closed the door, just as Xiao Fei followed him in.
"Sorry everyone, I'm late too," Xiao Fei said awkwardly as he walked past him, patting him on the shoulder. "Xiao Se, give the new student some face, hurry up!"
Even his best friend Xiaofei stood beside him, holding a tape measure, raising an eyebrow, and looking at him with a smug smile, "Even though you're an extra, you can't be late."
The extras... looking at the empty conference room, without even a decent prop, this is what they call a rehearsal? It's utterly ridiculous. They threw the script on the floor.
"Lin Weiwei, you're just trying to sniff me out. I, the class monitor and the group's darling, only get to appear on screen for less than 10 seconds. Don't forget I'm the leader of Preparatory Class 7. It was just that you weren't here that day. So, I'm still the leader!" She glared at these traitors every now and then; their expressions changed so quickly. At first, everyone disliked her. How did she manage to get so many people to participate in the filming in just one day?
"Oh? That was my fault. After school, we'll still be at the old factory. If you win, we'll follow your original script. If I win, you and Xiao Se will have to listen to me." She grabbed Xiao Se's tie, stood on tiptoe, and stared into his face.
However, his companion behind him gave him a signal. When he turned around, he saw Principal Lin standing behind him, holding a video camera. The old man, the captain, was holding a fill light and a microphone, watching the two of them.
"Alright, whoever wins is the boss!"
