Chapter Seventy-Three: Heartache

If we could do it all over again, you would be you, and I would be me, completely unrelated and indifferent to each other.

Lin Weiwei pried his fingers apart, raised her hand and inserted it under his armpit. This spot could stimulate the expansion of the muscles, causing him to immediately pull his hand back. She then covered his head, kneed him in the stomach, and elbowed him in the back.

"So easily defeated! You may not be tired, but I am truly exhausted. I've already bought this house, so get out!"

He was beaten to a pulp for the fifth time. She still didn't understand what he was clinging to. Sometimes lucid, sometimes confused, why did he only remember all her faults, and remember them all so clearly? She was exhausted. Seeing the person lying beneath her, she opened the door, pointed in a direction, and asked him to leave.

Xiao Se's wings fell to the ground, flapping his wings. A pair of icy hands gripped her ankles, and he cried out in pain, "Weiwei..."

His voice trembled, his eyes filled with sorrow and pleading. He coughed twice, and blood splattered on the ground. You hit him so hard, is your heart made of stone?

All the fighting scenes flashed through his mind: bruises, fractures, vomiting blood, scrapes... every wound was left by her. "Why? Your appearance causes me so much pain. Where did you come from? Go back to where you came from."

Even if I have to exert my last bit of effort, I will deliver the final blow.

He took flight, and the once clear sky was now covered with dark clouds. Thunder and lightning flashed, and a bolt of lightning split the large tree outside the door, sparks flying from her house.

"Feiyu can even summon..." Lin Weiwei couldn't believe his mutation. Seeing the house on fire, she immediately rushed into the bathroom, grabbed a hose, and sprayed water.

"flaw!"

Just as she was spraying water at the heart of the fire, a thunderclap struck, and lightning struck the top of her head, causing her to stare wide-eyed at those green pupils.

A cool breeze blew, and strands of hair danced in the air; time seemed to pass so slowly…

How strange, I can clearly hear my heartbeat and a call.

"Lin Weiwei, Lin Weiwei, stop bothering him! He has forgotten you, and you have forgotten her. You two were originally from two different worlds."

This longing to go home grew even stronger. She slowly closed her eyes. "Is this how I can go home? I'm so tired."

thud

Lin Weiwei lay on the cement ground, the flames from the roof doused in the fire. Her neighbor, Uncle Er, panicked and knocked on the door, "Weiwei! Your house is on fire! Are you alright? Should we call 120?"

...

It really was her house! Xiao Se's wings disappeared, and he jumped down, walking step by step to her side. This time, he had won. But why? She could have fought back, yet she rushed to put out the fire, her hair smelling burnt. Strange, why were his tears falling? Xiao Se wiped the tears from his cheeks. "I just wanted to teach you a lesson, not kill you!" He kicked away the water pipe, picked up Lin Weiwei, and rushed out the door. As soon as he opened the door, he saw many people. They were all residents from the neighborhood who had come out after hearing the commotion and blocked his way. So many people lived here. Why didn't she say so earlier?

"Tell me, where is the nearest hospital around here?"

"We'll take you there. This single mother is so pitiful; it must be the ghost of the homeowner causing this."

A ghost? What exactly happened this past month? Why did Han Han's house become a haunted house? Why did Lin Weiwei insist on buying this house instead of other places? Didn't she win five million? He hurriedly held the cold body and headed to the hospital.

emergency room

"Male postpartum hemorrhage, increase medication dosage."

"Doctor, her heartbeat is slow."

"Turn everything up to the maximum!"

All the urgent sounds were clearly audible to the person outside the door, and their heart tightened as well.

When Ma Fei and Kuai Zui arrived, all the lights in the hospital were off, except for the emergency room, which was still lit. The doctor hadn't come out since he went in, and five hours had passed with no word on whether he was alive or dead.

"Let's break up, Xiao Se. I didn't expect you to be such a heartless person. You said you would get better and not forget. Where is your diary?" His brother, who had protected him the most, now hated him the most, punched him in the right cheek, but Xiao Se did not fight back.

Wings, green eyes, where did all that magical power come from? That diary… he remembered it was in the butler’s car when he opened his bag.

"You'd better not attend my wedding with Li Tao; she doesn't want to see you."

Then, under the lamplight, watching the two brothers' departing figures, he felt a sharp pain in his heart. In his diary… he crouched by the door, head in his hands, trembling all over. "I killed someone! I killed my classmate."

She was putting out the fire to prevent it from spreading and injuring nearby residents, while all he wanted at the time was for her to die, so that the monster could leave once she was dead.

As dawn broke, the person who had been on the operating table for eight hours was wheeled out and transferred to the inpatient department. Her long black hair had been shaved off, and her entire head was wrapped in gauze.

"May I ask who you are to this patient? In this emergency, the child could not be saved, but we saved the adult instead, because you were making a scene outside!" The attending surgeon was furious. All the nurses who were busy with shift changes came to the intensive care unit to perform emergency treatment.

This patient, Lin Weiwei, had her skull struck by lightning, requiring stitches, so her hair had to be shaved. She had also suffered excessive bleeding and was at risk of miscarriage, so the gynecologist was called in to assist. To prevent the mother from waking up paralyzed, the only option was to abort the child. This was originally intended to be told to the family, but seeing a group of teenagers filled her with utter disappointment. Such a severe injury, and no family members by her side—it was truly heartbreaking. She sighed, wiped the sweat from her brow, and left.

"I am……"

You just give birth, I'll take care of the baby.

He remembered—the child was his! He'd only thought about how the child in her belly was Li Yao's, so he'd shown no mercy. Now he was filled with regret. "I think I've gone mad," he thought, "I killed Weiwei and my own child with my own hands." His lips were pale as he lay unconscious outside the ICU. As her boyfriend, he should have taken care of her. How could he have made her search for a place all night, living alone in such a large, haunted house, and even hit her while she was fighting? Lin Weiwei was a woman too! Who's the leader of Class 7 in the preparatory program isn't important; what's important is whether they can do it well, caring for and showing concern for their classmates. What was he so angry about? That liar, Li Yao! He actually lied to me, saying the child was his.

I deserve to die!

"I was wrong, Dad, Weiwei miscarried."

Why should he take Li Yao's money? He's so rich, and he knows Li Yao is a bad person. Tears streamed down his face uncontrollably. He cried silently that night, and his eyes became dry.

Unfortunately, there are no "what ifs," and nothing can be undone; I've already missed my chance.
