Chapter Sixty-Seven Prophecy

A ray of morning sunlight fell on her face, birds chirped outside the window, and the fresh scent of the forest grass wafted in, brushing against the cheeks of the beautiful woman lying in bed, revealing her translucent and radiant skin, as well as her delicate hands.

She slept soundly that night, not even noticing the time. When she picked up her phone, she found three missed calls and ten text messages. The earliest one was from Ma Fei, saying that Xiao Se had dropped out of school.

No one knew what he was going to do or where he was going. After returning the ring to his stepmother, the two never contacted each other again. It's painful to admit, but there's still a sense of loss. The accident came too quickly and went too quickly; the child was ultimately a mistake.

"Weiwei, are you awake?" Li Yao knocked on the door for a long time, but she didn't come to open it, so he used his key to open the door.

Seeing her sleepy-eyed state, her tank top revealing her shoulders, he placed a set of clothes on the table. "There's a hot spring here; you can't get wet, but you can wipe yourself down. Here's the gallery key; I have something to do."

He hadn't finished writing the report for the new experiment yet, and he had a slight stiff neck from sleeping in the car. His eyes were bloodshot. He was explaining everything, but Lin Weiwei kept looking at her phone.

"Okay, I understand, thank you."

When did she start saying "thank you"? It wasn't because she liked saying it, but perhaps because of Xiao Se's relationship with Li Yao, and she always maintained a certain distance from him.

After Li Yao left, she slowly got out of bed, looked at the bloodstains on the sheets, and sighed... How embarrassing!

So, she pulled off the bed sheet, put on her slippers, and went to the hot spring he had given her, placing her feet in the water. She felt much more relaxed. The hot spring was completely natural, flowing down from the mountains, with a temperature of over forty degrees Celsius. Why was this man—rich, attentive, successful, and, most importantly, handsome—still single?

She began to doubt the existence of such a perfect man. She picked up a towel and began to wipe her knees, taking off her coat piece by piece until she was completely submerged in the water, except for her head.

After washing up, she returned to the gallery and looked at the medicine on the table. It was prepared in three doses a day. She broke open the pill sac and smelled the cephalosporin component. It was an anti-inflammatory and very effective medicine, but she couldn't drink alcohol.

She was looking around the room for mosquito nets or something, but instead found a lot of scrolls under the bed, which she unfolded to look at.

Footage of a meteorite impacting Earth

There were also spaceships and mermaids, but what amazed her most was a painting, which depicted Lin Weiwei standing on a sky bridge wearing a Mercury suit when she first came to Earth.

Could he... really like me?

She only saw him as an uncle and had no other intentions. Moreover, asking him for help was mutually beneficial; he would get money and she would get what she wanted.

But even her eyes were drawn with such lifelike realism, so incredibly lifelike, that even the barely noticeable dimples at the corners of her mouth were depicted with exquisite detail. The pain in her lower abdomen returned, and she climbed onto the bed.

The first thing I thought of when I picked up my phone was to call Xiao Se. How strange... why was she the first person I wanted to call?

No! I absolutely mustn't call him. A woman must have backbone. Maybe it's because every time I wake up in the hospital, the first person I see is Xiao Se, so I've gotten used to it.

When Li Yao returned, Lin Weiwei was already lying unconscious in bed in pain. He called her name three times, but there was no response. He immediately dropped his bag, picked her up, and started heading to the hospital.

"You men are so careless! Everyone says you can't get it wet, how can you be so careless?"

Her wound became infected after getting wet, so she now has to be hospitalized.

"Little Weiwei, does it still hurt?" Li Yao's enlarged face was only three centimeters away from hers, almost kissing her.

Slap him a few times, "You pervert!"

Li Yao wasn't angry. He gently stroked her skin and, seeing her wary expression, burst into laughter.

"Don't worry, I won't do anything without your permission."

Her face turned bright red; she was so embarrassed.

While she was fast asleep, Li Yao also checked the chip behind Lin Weiwei's ear. She actually had this! His expression turned serious.

"Do you miss home, Weiwei? If you don't mind, you can tell me what's on your mind."

...

She pretended to be sleepy again, closing her eyes slightly. Should she tell him? Forget it, dealing with Xiao Se was annoying enough already.

A memory, like a commercial break, interrupts her when she's struggling with something.

Mercury was engulfed in flames when a rocket from Earth landed directly on civilians, causing fires in the surrounding area. Firefighters piled up fire extinguishers under buildings. A group of people emerged from the rocket, led by the president of the country of Riel. Why did he come down from the rocket, and why was he followed by a group of Earthlings?

Could it be that in the future, the president will be kidnapped by Earthlings? Or is this just a prophecy? In any case, we must go back to Mercury to take a look.

Xiao Se wrote in his diary that his grandfather discovered hematite, a substance that does not exist on Earth and comes from Mercury. Xiao appeared at the same time as her, which means that someone else had arrived on Earth several years earlier.

"Weiwei? What are you thinking about?" Li Yao sat down next to her and asked with concern.

"I've decided to go to Xihong City to see Li Quan. Thank you for taking me to the hospital."

Li Quan? That research fraudster, he's young but incredibly famous. What is she going to do with him?

He didn't stop her, and followed behind her to complete the discharge procedures.

"Nurse, please write out all the prescriptions for Lin Weiwei's IV drips so we can take her home and treat her ourselves." Li Yao smiled as he looked at the dumbfounded person in front of him. This little girl was injured like this; how could she manage without these things?

If I heard correctly, he was talking about us?

She didn't want to be with this person; it was her business. Holding the medicine, she quickly refused, saying, "No need, I can administer it myself."

She slung her backpack over her shoulder and ran out the door. Looking at the man standing at the hospital entrance, she felt a mix of emotions. Li Yao's concern for her seemed to have gone too far.

She booked a room at a hotel near the school, but when she was about to fill in her flight information, she discovered that she didn't have an ID card at all, so she couldn't go. Even if she took the high-speed rail or transferred trains, she would still need to be verified with her real name.

"Am I destined to never find Dr. Li?"

She looked up some information online and found that the school this genius boy attended was a branch campus of Mangxing University? She glanced at the dark-skinned boy in the photo and noticed that he had the Mangxing University emblem on his sleeve.

That's great! It's mainly a branch school, so everything will be much easier! I'll go to the school tomorrow to arrange the transfer procedures. That way, I can find Dr. Li in the new city, and my hope of returning to Mercury will be one step closer.

"Lin Weiwei, you want to transfer schools? Give up, the principal won't agree, just forget about it!" replied Lao Lei, the homeroom teacher.
