Chapter Thirty-Five: Jewelry Shop Robbed

"Xiao Se, Lao Lei just called and said that I can take a long leave, but we have to go back to take the test."

Dry!

There was no escaping it. He had originally planned to take two months off with Ma Fei and Rou Rou, relax at home like couch potatoes, then casually go through a month or two of final exams, and then go on vacation to drive sports cars. Everything was planned in his mind.

"Are we the only ones left who haven't had the test?" Old Lei is so rigid. It's just a mock test, but he's making a big deal out of it like a final exam.

"Oh, you can talk now? Yeah, because of you, our whole class didn't have a test, and we can't even get leave. I haven't spent time with my grandma in ages; she calls me every day, begging me to come home, she's even gone to the school to find me."

So he pushed Xiao Se's wheelchair toward the door, glancing at Lin Weiwei in her hospital gown. She would probably take leave too, right?

Ding-a-ling

The exam had to be held on-site. To ensure exam discipline and fairness, Lao Lei went all out, borrowing the exam room, installing cameras from all angles, and even inviting their favorite teacher, Luo, to proctor the exam.

The atmosphere inside became even more tense. People who usually cheated by writing cheat sheets or passing paper airplanes suddenly had no need for those, and their hands were shaking as they held the test papers.

Old Lei put on his reading glasses and picked up the microphone on the podium. "Knowledge can change your destiny. This is the best foundation for you who will enter society in the future. The exam will begin in two minutes. Please check your exam papers for any missing print or unclear images. Raise your hand if you have any questions."

A quick glance reveals everyone's subtle movements; those trying to whisper to each other are met with a piece of chalk.

When Xiao Se held the exam paper in his hand, he felt for the first time that it was really his graduation exam. He couldn't even hold the pen steady. But Teacher Luo Luo patted him on the shoulder and gave him a thumbs up.

I regained my confidence and carefully read each question. These questions were exactly the same as more than ten of the two hundred questions Lin Weiwei had set. The other fill-in-the-blank, multiple choice, and true/false questions were all very simple.

Looking at Ma Fei and the others, as soon as the bell rang, they immediately picked up their pens and started working, all with victorious expressions on their faces. Even Rou Rou, who was second to last, was writing without lifting her head while lying in her wheelchair.

No, I must write slowly according to her usual instructions. These questions are so difficult when I don't understand them, but once I learn them, my pen moves with more power, and I can start writing them down.

The exam lasted 120 minutes. Time passed slowly, and after 40 minutes, Lin Weiwei got up and handed in her paper.

"Teacher, I would like to ask for leave."

We can't delay any longer; we need to find Xiao's stronghold and wipe out his organization as soon as possible.

After reviewing the test paper three or four times, Lao Lei breathed a sigh of relief. He had forgotten to bring the answers when he left home, but now that he had the template, he nodded in satisfaction. "You don't even need to come to class. Just hand in your homework on time."

Hearing this, the classmates kept expressing their envy, and he tried to shush, but Lao Lei's glare silenced him.

She left the exam room, making those still taking the exam even more anxious, wondering if their time was about to run out.

Ms. Luo noticed what some students were thinking. She glanced at her watch and said, "Only forty minutes have passed. Do your work carefully and check your work slowly."

"Yes, don't assume you're all like Lin Weiwei. Go and do your own test." She rolled her eyes at them and wrote the word 'answer' in red on her test paper. After teaching for many years, she never expected that Lin Weiwei could simplify equations so easily and calculate the answer. She truly surpassed her teacher.

As the exam time passed, students handed in their papers one after another, leaving the exam room in an orderly fashion. In the end, even Rou Rou pushed her wheelchair to hand in her paper. Xiao Se glanced at the clock under the camera; there were still ten minutes left. He checked his paper one last time.

Ding-a-ling

When the time came, he pushed his wheelchair to hand in his exam paper. When he returned to the classroom, it was lunch break time. His classmates were all celebrating by opening cans of Coke. Wanzi went up to him, helped him into his chair, and joined the group celebrating.

"This Lin Weiwei is simply amazing! I felt so refreshed after my first time with her."

"Me too, I think I'll get a high score this time too."

"Come on, let's have a toast! Cheers!"

"cheers!"

...

Everyone in the crowd was chatting and laughing, but Xiao Se remained calm, because she was the one who deserved the most credit this time, but the main character was not there.

While Maruko was taking photos of everyone with her phone, she realized someone was missing. She walked to the middle of the crowd and asked, "Has anyone seen Weiwei? We've been celebrating for ages and nobody's here!"

"I don't know..."

So they all dispersed to look for her.

"What a strange person. Where could she go? Why is she always so withdrawn?" someone in the crowd muttered.

No one knew where she had gone, but Xiao Se knew that when she took out the sketch photos from her pocket, she was definitely going to look for information about those three people again.

Just then, his phone rang. He saw it was his stepmother calling and was about to hang up, but then he thought that since he was injured, Old Man Xiao shouldn't be unresponsive.

"Hey, SeSe, this is your mother. Are you feeling any better? Your father is incredibly busy; there have been too many missing students lately, and he's constantly dealing with the media. My jewelry store was also burglarized. I've transferred 300,000 yuan to you, so be careful with your money."

The sound of police sirens could be heard on the other end of the phone. Looking at the text messages from the bank, I had a feeling that it was the same group of people committing the crimes. Lin Weiwei loves to meddle in other people's business, so she must be there.

He had just made a phone call to the housekeeper when, less than half an hour later, his car arrived, followed by a group of bodyguards who pushed his wheelchair and headed to the Xiao family's gold jewelry store.

At the scene, police tape was put up, and the media were blocked from entering. He spotted a girl in the crowd with a ponytail, holding a phone and taking pictures, wearing headphones and a large watch.
