Lido Beauty Nightclub
Xiao Se lay in the empty private room. It was the same room, the same spot. She had sat next to him in an evening gown back then, as if it were just yesterday. He gently stroked the spot where she had sat. He realized that from this spot, he could see everyone in the room out of the corner of his eye. The songs he had chosen played randomly, but he didn't want to sing.
Then the leader knocked on the door and brought in a group of people, each with more exquisite makeup than the last, wearing clothes that were shorter than the last, and carrying numbers from different places.
"Distinguished guest, is there anything you like? If not, we can change to something else. What type do you prefer?"
He swirled his wine glass, paused the song, and sighed. He thought to himself, "Why do all these women look so alike, like templates for plastic surgery?" He continued, "Are there any cool, aloof types who don't wear makeup but seem unapproachable, seemingly ordinary yet incredibly charming, with long black hair? Uh… and some who are really rude."
The team leader was exasperated. They were in the service business, and this customer, who was supposed to be drinking with them, was being difficult, like he was looking for a wife. Putting aside personality, which girl who came to their nightclub didn't wear makeup? Otherwise, with those bright lights, who could clearly see their delicate features? All those clothes and accessories were just for show. Long hair was available, but that unattainable feeling made her even more difficult to approach.
"Um... why don't you listen to this singer? She also happened to hear a girl singing in room 102."
Room 102 seemed to be the starting point of a memory. They came to the nightclub to arrest Xiao's accomplices. She rushed in and never came out again. What happened inside was completely unknown to them in the other room.
Sometimes, I ask myself...
Do I really love you?
Sometimes... I want to call you.
Are you listening carefully? I miss you.
...
After he finished singing "With Heart" a cappella, his eyes were dazed. He grabbed the person in front of him and called out a familiar name: "Weiwei?"
"Well, you really haven't changed your roguish ways! Lin Weiwei is already with Li Yao, and you're still going to nightclubs."
After receiving the text message, Ma Fei and Kuai Zui rushed over. When they opened the door to find so many beautiful women in the room, they couldn't help but want to rush up and beat him up.
"How did she meet Li Yao? A transfer student who loves to meddle in other people's business. Come sit down and have a drink. I bought Corona and betel nuts."
Xiao Se has lost his memory again!
Ma Fei exchanged a glance with Kuai Zui, nodded in agreement, and began rummaging through his schoolbag.
"Where's your Golmud medication, Xiao Se?"
"What 'Golmodo drug'? What are you talking about? I don't understand! Stop going through my bag!"
By the time the quick-talker found it, he opened the bottle, only to find it empty. He started searching various websites by the drug's name, but couldn't find any results. How could he have forgotten at this crucial moment! Such an important thing, and now it's all over… even the protagonist is completely doomed. He's back to his old ways of remembering and forgetting things.
"Weiwei, why isn't she back? That stupid woman, she's going to fight all by herself. Let's go, brothers, let's go together."
Xiao Se anxiously glanced at the clock on the projection screen. She had been gone for half an hour and hadn't returned. He'd pretty much figured out what was going on. Had she been caught? No, he couldn't let a girl like her take such a risk. Just as he was about to open the door, his two brothers stopped him.
"Xiao Se, Xiao and the others are dead. Our class's final battle is over."
It seems they can't function without medication; their memories are easily confused, and they can't distinguish what happened. They both sighed deeply. It's no use doing anything now; Lin Weiwei is already Li Yao's girlfriend. They're a perfect couple, both intelligent and good-looking, like a couple from a comic book cover. Dejected, they picked up their glasses and took a sip, but even just one sip was incredibly strong, making them dizzy and disoriented.
A rabbit pushed open the door to the private room, tugged at its ears, and watched them wobble.
"Where did this rabbit come from? Rabbit!"
"Hey? Ma Fei, why are you shaking?"
The two men were passed out drunk and fast asleep on the floor. Xiao Se looked at the rabbit in front of him and felt it was particularly strange. This was a high-end private nightclub where pets were not allowed. Who would bring a brown rabbit to a nightclub? He hadn't drunk a drop of his newly bought Corona; he had only been drinking his stock before they arrived. He went over and patted their cheeks, but they lay motionless on the floor without any reaction.
"Your death is just around the corner, after midnight. How do you feel about that?"
The prophecy rabbit can predict things that haven't happened yet, so of course it can know your location too, tsk tsk tsk... What a pitiful heartbroken boy, drinking alone in a private room, not singing or requesting songs. He pulls a carrot from his sleeve, flaps its ears, and flies it beside him.
"The rabbit can talk! Or am I just too drunk?"
Xiao Se looked at the suited rabbit chewing on a carrot and crossing his legs, glanced at the clock, and saw that it would be twelve o'clock in ten minutes. What? He would die after twelve o'clock? Who would come to kill him? This must be a prank. He opened the door and saw people lying asleep in the corridor. He went to push open the doors of the next private rooms one by one, and rushed to the lobby. It was the same. Everyone was sleeping on the floor, with only the DJ playing music.
He felt a chill run down his spine as a pair of red eyes stared at him. When he turned around, it was still the same rabbit, chewing on a carrot.
"Who would kill me? Why would they want to kill me?"
"One carrot for every problem, no credit allowed."
He felt like he was dreaming, and he slapped himself hard, trying to stay awake and not let the alcohol numb him.
Sigh, rich people are so stingy. He glanced at the clock; only three minutes left. All this fussing had wasted so much time. He took out a handkerchief to wipe his mouth. Fresh radishes are still the best; this one was too old. This young man, how long is he going to dawdle? Midnight is his death day. But coming to this place, even as a ghost, he'll have a romantic life.
Xiao Se, breathing heavily, saw the waiter lying on the ground, picked up the bucket of popcorn, and handed it to the rabbit in front of him. The rabbit, smelling the sweet aroma, grabbed a kernel and put it in its mouth, its ears perking up. "Delicious! It even has honey flavor, so it's sweet."
"I killed you because you hindered his master's future. Xiao Se, you are a loser. You are useless except for having some money at home. You will go bankrupt soon."
He is indeed a loser, unlucky in love and unlucky in life. But he's just a nobody, how could that affect his future? Who is this person anyway? Wait! Did it just say "master"?
As soon as the clock struck twelve, the shadow cast on the wall lengthened. He stared at this strange phenomenon in horror, so frightened that he collapsed to the ground. No matter how hard he tried to stand up, his legs were too weak.
