Hua Ansu blinked. "I guess so."
"Grandma, I have guests tomorrow."
The minister's wife knew very well, "Aigoo?"
She nodded.
"That's great! Young people should spend more time together; feelings develop through interaction."
Hua Ansu hesitated before speaking, "I want to cook him a meal, but I don't know how to cook..."
She had never touched kitchen utensils before, and she felt it was so difficult.
Every time she watched the old lady cook, she felt that if it were her, she would blow up the kitchen.
For some reason, she felt uneasy and lacked confidence whenever she thought about cooking.
When the minister's wife heard that she wanted to cook, she smiled and said, "That's great! Grandma will teach you later, and she can even help you tomorrow."
Then--
In one afternoon, Hua Ansu broke three plates and a bowl belonging to the minister's wife, burned the food twice, and made it too salty three times, but finally managed to make two finished dishes.
Braised lamb belly with potatoes.
Braised chicken with chestnuts.
After tasting it, the minister's wife praised it, saying, "Not bad, not bad, a great improvement."
After trying it, Hua Ansu couldn't believe how good it tasted. "It's still not as good as yours, Grandma. I need to do some more research."
Hua Ansu wrapped her little skirt up again and went back to work.
The minister's wife couldn't help but chuckle as she watched her busy figure.
then--
Minister Dorenda, returning home for dinner, looked at the table laden with dishes and exclaimed, "Madam, why are there so many dishes today?"
Even during Chinese New Year, the feast wasn't this lavish.
The minister's wife spoke mysteriously, "You've really benefited from this."
"Benefiting from the situation?"
"Yes, all of these were made by Ansu."
Minister Dorenda raised an eyebrow in surprise, "Ansu made this?"
"It looks good, but how can we finish so much?"
The minister's wife patted his hand as he reached for his chopsticks, saying, "It's none of your business if you can't finish it."
"Sit still, the girl hasn't arrived yet."
Minister Dorenda then remembered, "Where is Ansu?"
"It's still in the kitchen."
Minister Torrenda was shocked: "The dishes aren't all served yet?"
"There's also a soup."
Chahua Ansu brought in the soup, and Minister Dorenda got up to take it, but Chahua Ansu refused, saying, "Grandpa Minister, please sit down, I'll do it."
Minister Dorenda had never seen such a lavish meal before. "Ansu, how did you come up with the idea of preparing so many dishes..."
He felt a little sorry for himself; this meal could have lasted for several days.
This is a consequence of the tribe's long-term food shortage, caused by a good minister who was dedicated to serving the people.
Oh, we're short of them now too.
Hua Ansu knew that her actions today were a bit of a waste, but there was nothing she could do. It was better to learn how to cook once and for all; she was too lazy to learn it a second time.
Miss Hua Ansu, whose cooking skills have greatly improved, is now a little overconfident. "Today I asked my grandma to teach me how to cook, so I just made a little more than usual."
Looking at the table full of dishes, she suggested, "Why don't we send some to Aunt Wang's house? She has three children who are growing up."
Aunt Wang was the kind aunt who insisted on giving Hua Ansu steamed buns when she and Babu visited the tribe. She was always very enthusiastic towards Hua Ansu and was also a skilled farmer. She worked very hard during the day, leading the women.
The minister and his wife had no objections; they couldn't finish the food anyway, and they couldn't bear to waste it.
The minister's wife carried the food box to Aunt Wang's house.
Neither Hua Ansu nor Minister Dorenda touched their chopsticks, waiting for the minister's wife to return so they could eat together.
During this time, Hua Ansu touched his nose and said, "Grandpa Minister, please come back for lunch tomorrow."
"Is there something you want to discuss?"
“No,” Hua Ansu shook her head. “It’s just that I’m treating everyone to dinner tomorrow, and I have some friends coming over.”
