Chapter 12 Arena

Xie Sen sat in the co-pilot seat of Maine's shuttle. Thinking of the examination schedule of the Department of Botany, he asked curiously, "Didn't you take the graduation exam yesterday? Why do you have to go today?"

Maine set up the route and tilted his head to answer, "The Information Department will take three days to take the exam."

So you are from the Information Department, Xie Sen thought to himself, and then laughed: "We in the Botany Department finished the exam in the morning, it was much easier than you."

Maine looked at him with complicated eyes: "Don't you know that the Department of Botany has the easiest courses among all the departments?"

Xie Sen laughed to cover up the past. How could he forget it? He never knew it.

The shuttle landed in the school parking lot. Xie Sen said, "My exam room is in Teaching Building No. 8. What about you?"

"Number one, in the opposite direction."

"Is that so? Then let's go our separate ways. I need to check out my shuttle first," Xie Sen said. "By the way, let's exchange contact information!"

Maine nodded, and after exchanging contact information, he entered the school first.

Xie Sen found the shuttle through the positioning of the traffic software. The shuttle was light blue, the most common style on the street.

He noted the location, left the parking lot, opened the school map, located Teaching Building No. 8, and walked to the examination room according to the map.

Not long after entering the school, Xie Sen realized something was wrong. His classmates who passed by and saw him always had a look of surprise on their faces, and most of his companions would look at him and whisper about something.

He faintly heard the words 'neither male nor female', 'suicidal', 'eccentric', 'stay away from him'.

He rolled his eyes. These people probably didn't know that their words had caused a person to disappear from this world.

"Boy, how dare you roll your eyes at me!" A boy with a maroon crew cut and over 1.9 meters tall stepped in front of Xie Sen, speaking angrily.

He was wearing a loose orange shirt with three buttons left undone, revealing half of his chest. He looked like a middle school gangster.

He had wolfhound patterns on his chest, so it was obvious that he was a male.

The man was too close, and Xie Sen was shorter than him. This position made Xie Sen very uncomfortable. He took a step back and explained, "I didn't roll my eyes at you."

This person was walking opposite him in front of him. He rolled his eyes at the people who were talking and was not targeting anyone at all. This person probably happened to see it and was standing in front of him, so he misunderstood it as being directed at him.

"You dare not admit it?" The boy said with disdain, "Don't think I won't touch you because you're going to commit suicide. If people knew that you even rolled your eyes at me, I'd have no use in school."

Xie Sen was helpless: "I said I didn't roll my eyes at you but you didn't believe me, what do you want?"

"See you at the sparring stage after the exam. I'm going to teach you a lesson in front of everyone in the school. This is an open and fair sparring match. If you feel wronged and commit suicide afterwards, it has nothing to do with me!"

Comparing the sizes of the two men, Xie Sen felt that he had no chance of winning. However, the man was adamant and if he didn't agree, it would be difficult for him to escape now.

"Do you have a contracted beast?" he asked after thinking for a while.

"Of course, who is like you, neither male nor female, who hasn't even awakened her contracted beast at the age of eighteen."

Xie Sen pouted: "You were able to find the contracted beast so early, it seems that the level of the contracted beast is not high!"

"What did you say?" The boy shouted angrily when his ability was questioned.

Xie Sen had seen all kinds of people who looked strong but were actually weak in the end times. As long as they didn't take action, he wasn't afraid. He said, "Anyway, you have awakened your contracted beast, so you are more powerful than me."

"Are you scared now?" the boy said proudly. "I am now formally proposing to you a competition. We will have a competition at the school competition platform at 12:15. Do you accept?"

"If I fight you, you have a contracted beast, so it's like I'm fighting one against two. Even if you win, it won't be glorious." Xie Sen said with disdain.

"To deal with you, I don't even need to release the contracted beast."

"Is it because your contracted beast is of low level and you are afraid that your contracted beast will lose to me?" Xie Sen provoked.

"Are you kidding me? Would I be afraid of losing to you? My contracted beast can beat you even with only its front paws."

"I don't believe it," Xie Sen shrugged, "If you let your contracted beast fight me, I will accept your request for a sparring match."

"Okay, a quarter past twelve, don't run away!"

Xie Sen waved his hand: "See you at noon."

His reaction was too calm. The boy stared at his back in a daze. After a while, he came to his senses and said angrily, "Dare to look down on me? I'll let you know how powerful I am at noon."

Xie Sen didn't know that the other party had threatened him behind his back. There were only ten minutes left before the exam, so he didn't dare to delay. He ignored the pointing and whispering on the way and walked quickly to the examination room.

He scanned his wristband at the entrance of the examination room to confirm his identity. After entering, he was stunned. Were there too few people?

He had read the exam introduction and knew that the graduation exam was a unified test. He glanced at the large classroom that could hold 200 people, but there were only forty or fifty people at most.

Maybe he came here just like him, he thought.

He found a seat and sat down. The originally quiet classroom was suddenly filled with whispers. He turned his head and met the gaze of a classmate on his right who was talking to the student in the back row.

The classmate immediately retracted his gaze and sat back in his original seat, as if to say 'I didn't say anything'.

Xie Sen shrugged and ignored it.

"Are you feeling better?" A teacher walked up to him and asked softly.

Xie Sen nodded quickly: "Okay, thank you for your concern, teacher."

The teacher's eyes flashed with surprise, and he said gently: "That's good. You can tell me if you have anything in the future. You are still young, don't be impulsive."

"Yeah, I know." Xie Sen nodded, like a good student.

The teacher saw that he looked happy and cheerful, no longer gloomy as before, and no longer silent as before when talking to him. He felt relieved and walked to the podium to prepare for the exam.

When the exam time arrives, all candidates' wristbands are disconnected from the star network, and the test paper appears on the LED screen on the desktop.

The candidate information has been entered and you can answer the questions directly.

Xie Sen looked at the test questions and could hardly believe that this was the graduation test for the Department of Botany. The test paper was divided into basic questions and advanced questions, with a ratio of six to four.

The basic questions all require identifying plants by looking at pictures. They are all common modern vegetables, fruits and various shrubs. Modern primary school students can probably answer half of these questions correctly.

The advanced questions are a bit more difficult. They require you to write down the planting conditions of three plants: Chinese cabbage, orange trees, and roses, including the appropriate climate, soil, water, light, etc.

All three plants are common in modern times. Xie Sen worked in a flower shop and had a clearer understanding of roses, so his answer was quite comprehensive. He wrote about the other two based on his general impression.

For text questions, the principle is to write as much as you can, and fill in the blanks if you can't write. Xie Sen did not leave a single question blank.

After he finished answering the questions, he checked them, clicked the "Submit" button, confirmed that the paper was submitted successfully, and then he stood up and left the classroom.

"Wow! He handed in the paper so quickly. Did he hand in a blank paper?"

"You're so brave."

Hearing a surprised voice from behind, Xie Sen's mouth twitched. Young people just love to fantasize. His test paper is full, how can it be a blank paper? Nonsense!

He looked at the time, it was only half past eleven. After thinking for a while, he opened the map to find the cafeteria, bought a fast food meal for ten star coins, and sat in the corner to eat.

"Have you heard? Xie Feicai from the Plant Department will be sparring with Ah Meng from the Combat Department at noon."

"Is this true? Is he looking for death?"

"It's true. Ah Meng posted a message on the school forum, asking everyone who has time to go and have a look. He is ready to teach Xie the useless guy a lesson."

"I bet Xie Feicai will definitely run away and dare not go!"

"I bet too that he won't dare to go."

"I heard he promised it himself. I bet he'll go!"

"I'll go to the forum and open the market, and place your bets."

Xie Sen's eyes lit up, the opportunity to make money had come!

He silently opened the forum, found the forum gambling module, and when he saw the maximum bet amount was two thousand, he suddenly realized that it was no wonder that the school did not stop it.

He checked his account and found a balance of more than 400 yuan. He watched the forum for five minutes, watching the odds of 1 to 100 still rising. He opened his address book and sent a message to the contact marked "handsome guy".

"Can you lend me 1,600 star coins? I'll return it to you double this afternoon (^o^)/~."
