Lecture

Lecture

The largest lecture hall at the Medical School of J City University was packed.

The students whispered among themselves, their eyes constantly glancing at the empty podium—the lecture on "Modern Forensic Medicine and Neurological Injury Identification," originally scheduled to begin at nine o'clock in the morning, had been delayed by twenty minutes.

"I heard that Fan Jinci is here today!" a girl wearing glasses said in a low voice. "He's the genius who performed complex autopsies at the age of twenty, and the youngest visiting professor in J University's history!"

"Isn't he in the Special Criminal Investigation Department? Why would he suddenly come back to give lectures?" The boy next to me flipped through his notes. "My advisor said that being able to attend one of his lectures would add ten years of merit to your forensic qualification exam..."

The back door of the classroom was suddenly pushed open.

A whiff of cold disinfectant wafted in first, followed by Fan Jinci walking in expressionlessly, a section of her turtleneck sweater peeking out from under her white coat—covering the teeth marks someone had left behind the night before.

The entire room fell silent instantly.

Then a burst of excited commotion erupted—

"It really is him!!!"

"That legendary genius forensic doctor!!!"

Fan Jinci coldly swept his gaze across the entire room, his eyes lingering for a second on a certain corner—Li Weimian was sitting in the last row wearing a baseball cap.

Meanwhile, Wen Lin was grinning and had his arm around the shoulder of the male classmate next to him.

He closed his eyes, resisting the urge to roll them back.

Just as Fan Jinci plugged the USB drive into the computer, the classroom front door opened again.

Yu Yan, dressed in a sharp black suit with the collar deliberately unbuttoned, swaggered onto the podium holding a cup of coffee: "Excuse me, students, my professor last night—"

"Shut up." Fan Jinci snatched the coffee away, his voice extremely low.

"Don't you dare say another word."

Yu Yan raised an eyebrow, but instead of restraining himself, he stood next to him and smiled into the microphone, saying, "Hello everyone, I'm Yu Yan, your temporary assistant for today."

The audience erupted in cheers.

"Wait, isn't that Captain Yu from the Special Criminal Investigation Department?!"

"Why is he working as an assistant? Where is Teacher Situ?"

"Teacher Situ must be busy... After all, he's a genius..."

In the corner, a boy wearing glasses muttered quietly, "I heard that Teacher Situ was 'invited' to coffee by Captain Yu this morning..."

The girl next to her was shocked: "Really? A threat?"

The boy blinked frantically: "I didn't say anything!"

Fan Jinci glanced at it, then sent a message to Situ Jin with a sneer: "Situ Jin, if you're being threatened, blink twice."

The entire audience: "..."

The air pressure seems to have dropped considerably.

Situ Jin was quietly organizing files in the Criminal Investigation Department at the moment, and decided that she would not reply to Fan Jinci's message today.

Fan Jinci: Hehe.

The entire audience: "..."

Why is it lower again?

Fan Jinci's lectures are always sharp and precise, with not a single wasted word.

He pulled up a neuroanatomical diagram, his voice cold: "Temporal lobe damage can lead to memory distortion, and the murderer exploited this by interfering with the victim's judgment with electric shocks of a specific frequency before his death—"

Before he could finish speaking, Yu Yan suddenly leaned over, pretending to adjust the projector, but actually whispered in his ear, "Wife, your eyelashes flutter when you're lecturing."

Fan Jinci remained expressionless and struck him in the abdomen with his elbow.

Yu Yan grunted, laughed, and stepped back, causing the students below the stage to gasp in surprise.

"Are they fighting?!"

"No...I think it's more like flirting..."

"So the rumors were true!!!"

Li Weimian sat in the back row, rubbing her forehead.

Wen Lin was already laughing so hard she was practically slumped over the table, not forgetting to wink at the male classmate next to her: "Hey classmate, do you like watching crime dramas? I have a 'case' I'd like to discuss with you in depth..."

The male student blushed: "Ah? I, I actually..."

Wen Lin blinked: "Hmm?"

The straight male classmate: "...Actually, I..."

Wen Lin: "!!!"

I'm happy.

Halfway through the lecture, Fan Jinci was explaining a rare case of brainstem injury when a girl suddenly raised her hand:

"Professor, I have a question... Is that person in the last row Senior Li?"

Everyone turned to look. Li Weimian calmly removed her baseball cap, revealing a gleaming silver earring beneath her short, ear-length hair: "Is there a problem?"

The girl's voice trembled with excitement: "Aren't you a criminal psychology consultant? What brings you to a forensic lecture?"

Li Weimian smiled slightly: "Serial killers don't kill people according to academic disciplines, so why can't I listen?"

The entire audience: "..."

That makes perfect sense; there's no way to refute it.

Wen Lin raised his hand from the side: "What about me? Does anyone recognize me?"

Everyone fell silent.

Wen Lin: "..."

In the end, it was all for naught.

As soon as the lecture ended, students swarmed around him; some wanted Fan Jinci's autograph, some wanted to ask questions, and others simply wanted to get a close look at the legendary figure.

Then, Yu Yan froze them in place with just one look.

"Stand in line." He smiled dangerously. "Keep two meters away and don't touch him."

Students: "..."

Is this the legendary mad dog guarding its food?

Fan Jinci ignored him and continued organizing his documents. Suddenly, a boy mustered up his courage and asked:

"Professor Fan! Back when you were at J University, did you really go two days without sleep to dissect a highly decomposed corpse?!"

Fan Jinci didn't even look up: "Mm."

"So how do you stay focused?!"

"Corpses don't talk nonsense."

The entire audience: "..."

That's too ruthless, too powerful.

Yu Yan chuckled softly beside him: "But the fact that he finds me noisy now means that I'm more important than the corpse."

Fan Jinci finally looked up and said coldly, "You're annoying."

Yu Yan: "That's the special one too."

Everyone: "..."

This dog food was forced on me!

After the event, Wen Lin successfully arranged to meet up with his "straight male" classmate for milk tea.

"Actually, I was faking it," the boy said, scratching his head sheepishly. "But I'm genuinely interested in criminal investigation..."

Wen Lin leaned closer with a smile: "So, do you like 'in-depth investigations'?"

Boy: "...?"

Not far away, Li Weimian walked by carrying her bag and sneered, "Wen Lin, do you want me to send him the photos of you in women's clothing in your file?"

Wen Lin: "Sister Mian! I was wrong!!!"

Happiness is always fleeting.

He never dared to pretend to be gay and flirt with straight men again.

At that moment, a message popped up on Li Weimian's phone.

From a starred account.

Just one sentence made Li Weimian's hand tremble.

Q: Long time no see, I see you.

Li Weimian opened the chat box and looked at it for a long time, but ultimately didn't send anything.

Inside the lecture room, Yu Yan was pinning Fan Jinci against the wall, his fingertips tracing the bite marks beneath Fan's turtleneck sweater, chuckling softly, "Professor, shall we continue the 'tutoring' tonight?"

Fan Jinci looked at him coldly: "Get lost."

Yu Yan kissed the tip of his ear: "Yes, Professor."

The lecture ended successfully, and someone got what they wanted.

At 10 p.m., there was a knock on the door of Fan Jinci's apartment.

Fan Jinci had just finished showering; his black hair was still dripping wet, and his white shirt hung loosely on his shoulders, revealing a faint mechanical butterfly tattoo beneath his collarbone. He glanced through the peephole.

Yu Yan leaned against the door, carrying two boxes. One was a double matcha tiramisu from the shop on the back street of J University (the only dessert Fan Jinci would eat), and the other box…

Fan Jinci saw it clearly.

yes.

condom.

Fan Jinci closed his eyes, turned around and left.

The mad dog outside started scratching at the door: "Wife, I was wrong."

"roll."

"I brought you a cake."

"unnecessary."

"Situ Jin asked me to deliver the documents."

He's dead.

Yu Yan paused for two seconds, then suddenly lowered his voice: "Professor Fan, your computer is still connected to the projector in the lecture hall. I just saw in your search history that there is a search for 'how to soothe a large dog'."

The door was suddenly pulled open.

Fan Jinci stood at the door with a cold face, the tips of his ears turning red beneath his wet hair: "You hacked the school system."

Yu Yan seized the opportunity to squeeze through the door, locked it behind him, and grinned like a triumphant wolf: "I hacked your heart rate, now it's 120, very soon."

The cake was placed on the table, and Yu Yan sat properly at the other end of the sofa, not even rushing over as usual.

“I was very well-behaved during the lecture today, wasn’t I?” He winked. “I didn’t sabotage you, I didn’t lay a hand on you, and I didn’t even touch your waist in public.”

Fan Jinci sneered: "You called me 'wife' in front of three hundred people."

"That doesn't count."

Yu Yan leaned closer, her fingertips hooking around his shirt cuff, "...Are you really angry?"

The shirt was tugged, the collar slipped down the shoulder, revealing the still-present bite mark on the side of the neck.

Fan Jinci immediately pulled his clothes back, but Yu Yan's eyes had already darkened.

"Let me see." He suddenly grabbed Fan Jinci's wrist, his fingertips tracing the red mark. "Yesterday..."

"If you know that, then get lost."

"I'll disinfect it for you."

"No need."

"Then the compensation."

slightly.

"Yu Yan!" He pushed the person away, but bumped into the other person's pre-planned embrace.

“I’m here.” Yu Yan took the opportunity to bite his earlobe: “Professor, after-class tutoring… it’s time to hand in the homework.”

slightly.

Fan Jinci has a very small mole in the dimple of his waist, a location known only to Yu Yan.

When the fingertips touched the skin, the person in my arms visibly stiffened for a moment.

"Don't touch it..."

"Why?" Yu Yan chuckled softly.

slightly.

Fan Jinci raised his knee to strike, but Yu Yan intercepted it beforehand and pressed him into the sofa.

The projector was still on, its blue light reflecting off the two intertwined figures. The last slide of the PowerPoint presentation, "Pathological Characteristics of Brainstem Injury," cast a blurry shadow on the wall.

"Turn it off." Fan Jinci turned his head away from the kiss.

"No, it's fine." Yu Yan grabbed his wrist and pressed it above his head, while loosening his own tie with his other hand. "Perfect for studying."

"You said that visual stimulation can enhance memory."

When the tie wrapped around Fan Jinci's wrist, his pupils contracted slightly: "You..."

court death.….…"

"I've been looking for you." Yu Yan leaned down and bit his Adam's apple.

(The review process did not allow this to be written. [Omitted])

At 2 a.m., the double matcha tiramisu melted into a puddle of cream on the table.

"Enough..." Fan Jinci's voice was hoarse as he kicked the man, "Get out."

Yu Yan seized the opportunity to grab his ankle: "Who just said 'the last time'? This is only the third one—"

The pillow hit my face.

Fan Jinci tried to get up by supporting himself on the bed, but the soreness in his waist made him groan, and he was immediately pulled back into Yu Yan's arms.

"It was my fault."

Yu Yan nuzzled against the back of his neck in apology, but his hands slid down restlessly, saying, "Let me rub it for you."

"Get out... um!"

When his fingertips suddenly pressed on a certain spot, Fan Jinci tensed his back and scratched red marks on Yu Yan's arm with his fingernails.

"Here," Yu Yan laughed triumphantly, kneading the area even more vigorously, "Professor, didn't you teach us this in your anatomy class? Compression of the sacral nerve plexus will..."

The remaining words were silenced by Fan Jinci's kiss.

After all, he should have known the best way to shut someone up.

slightly.

As sunlight streamed through the curtains, Yu Yan was throwing the box into the trash can—it was empty.

On the bed, Fan Jinci was sleeping with his back to him, his shoulder blades covered in hickeys, and his wrists still bearing the faint red marks left by his tie.

Yu Yan quietly climbed onto the bed, and just as he was about to hug someone, he was kicked in the thigh.

"Get out, don't disturb my sleep," Fan Jinci said coldly with his eyes closed.

Yu Yan smiled and kissed the back of his neck: "Yes, sir, Brother Fan."

She verbally admitted defeat, but her hands honestly wrapped around his waist.

Fan Jinci:

Whatever, whatever.
