(!! The nagging old woman has something to say: The following is the daily bickering, love-hate relationship between two “stinky” female college graduates. The time point is before Old Jin baby traveled through time. In fact, this chapter has already been posted, because I made a revision as a whole, so this chapter was not kept later, but now I put it out for you to see, oh my (σ′▽‵)′▽‵)σ)
text:
The Windy City is particularly hot in the summer. Shi Shi had just woken up from a nap, and the air conditioner, which had been set before the nap, was already turned off.
The room was very warm in the afternoon. With my hair still unkempt, I pulled out half a watermelon from the refrigerator that I had chilled the night before. I tore off the plastic wrap and, in my flip-flops, went to the kitchen to find a spoon.
When she was alone, she didn't like cutting watermelon; it was too much trouble. She usually just scooped up half a watermelon and ate it directly with a spoon. Before she even reached the kitchen door, her phone rang while she lay in bed.
Shi Shi lived in an old duplex with poor sound insulation. The sobering song "The Most Dazzling National Style" could be heard clearly throughout the entire building. As the phone was about to ring, Shi Shi answered the call, spoon in her left hand and a slightly sweaty watermelon in her right.
"Ancestor, what's the matter?" Shi Shi scooped a large spoonful of watermelon into his mouth and spoke incoherently while chewing.
The voice on the other end of the phone was weak: "Shishi, can you come to my house?"
Shi Shi swallowed the watermelon in her mouth: "Why do you feel so weak? Is your period coming?"
Unlike Shi Shi's joking tone, the voice on the other end was weak and painful: "I can't walk anymore. I don't quite understand why. It just hurts. My stomach hurts. Can you come over?"
Shi Shi paused while scooping the watermelon: "Wait, I'll be right there!"
"good."
Shi Shi hung up the phone, threw the watermelon she had just taken a few bites of on the bedside table, picked up the key and rushed out.
The person who just called Shi Shi was her best friend Jin Suting, whom she had known for five years since college.
Shi Shi was a truly beautiful woman, but her personality wasn't as elegant as her looks. She was carefree and unassuming, a kindred spirit. They'd spent four years of college together, but now, a year after graduation, they'd barely kept in touch, yet Shi Shi and Jin Suting remained close.
Shi Shi took her emerald SUV out of the garage and drove onto the road with ease. Today was the weekend, the weather was hot, and there were few people on the road. Shi Shi drove leisurely.
Jin Suting never mentioned her parents to Shi Shi, but Shi Shi instinctively felt they must be powerful figures. Jin Suting never called home once during her four years of college. Or perhaps she did, but Shi Shi just didn't hear them. After graduation, Jin Suting lived alone in an upscale apartment. This left Shi Shi, a recent graduate who could only afford an old apartment, feeling deeply unbalanced.
Although Jin Suting made money by writing novels when she graduated, her intuition and observations over the past five years told her that her sister was extraordinary.
If someone told her that Jin Suting's family had no background, Shi Shi would not believe it even if she thought with her duodenum.
Shi Shi opened the door with a spare key. In the hallway, she saw Jin Suting huddled up on the sofa, her left hand covering her lower abdomen while her right hand was still scrolling through a certain audio app...
"Hahahahaha, you can't beat me, right? There's nothing I can do. I'm just that powerful..."
It seems he is not dead yet.
Jin Suting heard the noise and looked up from her phone and asked, "So fast?"
Shi Shi rolled her eyes habitually, slammed the door shut, kicked off her slippers and walked in barefoot, fanning herself with her palms as if resentful: "Ms. Jin Suting, I came here on my two-wheeled BMW, how can I not be fast? It's the middle of summer, and I'm racing on that highway under the sun that's nearly 40 degrees Celsius. I almost died of heat." She looked around, looked at the air conditioner in the corner that was not turned on, lifted her long legs and stepped over to get the remote control to turn on the air conditioner.
Jin Suting, who was sitting on the sofa, turned her head to look at her and stopped her: "I have a stomachache, don't turn on the air conditioner."
Really... Shi Shi complained in her heart. Fine, she is a patient, I will bear it.
He withdrew his hand that was about to reach the remote control, sat down at Jin Suting's curled-up feet, wiped the sweat from his forehead and asked, "Do you want to go to the hospital?"
Reaching out and pressing Jin Suting's lower right abdomen, Jin Suting yelled exaggeratedly: "It hurts!" Her pale little face wrinkled into a ball, her mouth pouted, and she turned off the phone that was still playing the video, "Send me to the hospital!"
Shi Shi couldn't suppress the small flame in her heart any longer, but she still forced a smile: "Do you treat me like your mother, Ms. Jin Suting? I came all the way here and you didn't even say thank you. I'm so sad."
Seeing that Shi Shi was angry, Jin Suting immediately put away her domineering look, climbed up, hugged Ms. Shi Shi, who was angry, and acted coquettishly: "Shishi, good Shishi, little Shishi, Shishishishishi~ Look at my face, how white it is? It's so pale, you are the best, accompany me to the hospital~" Shi Shi gave her a displeased look, only to see the big eyes blinking innocently on the "pale" face, and she laughed out of anger.
"Okay, stop joking. Does it really hurt?" Shi Shi is actually very easy to coax, Jin Suting thought.
"Actually, it doesn't hurt much anymore, it's just a bit bloated and painful. Do you think I need surgery?" Jin Suting frowned, looking unhappy.
"Let's go to the hospital first." Shi Shi picked up the key on the table, helped the "patient" Jin Suting out the door.
Shi Shi and Jin Suting entered through the side door. The hospital was packed; summer is peak season for colds and fevers. Children, in particular, could easily find themselves in the hospital. Shi Shi passed through the crowded pediatrics department and headed to the hospital lobby to register.
