Eunuch Bai didn't know what the Queen Mother was referring to, but she was certainly not wrong. He immediately continued, "You do all this for the sake of peace and prosperity for the country and the people, and for the greater good. His Royal Highness the Crown Prince will one day recognize your kindness."
"Really?" The Queen Mother closed her eyes, her head starting to ache again. "But I always feel like this is retribution from Heaven. A woman ruling a country is unprecedented. Is it because I broke the rules that Heaven is punishing me by having both my son and husband die on the battlefield?"
Eunuch Bai was panicking. The Queen Mother rarely complained like this; she was always incredibly confident. He didn't know how to respond, so he resorted to his usual servile tactics to curry favor: "Queen Mother, you're worrying too much. Look, the people of Fuding have lived and worked in peace and contentment for the past thirty years, without any major disasters. Even the recent invasion by Simu was resolved through a marriage alliance, and the people are praising your wise decision!"
"Really?" The Queen Mother's head ached. She called out to Eunuch Bai, "Give me a massage. It's getting more painful lately. Where's the medicine?"

But it became increasingly clear under her feet that there were countless corpses, flowing with disgusting unknown liquid.
The bodies were rotten and the hands were covered in blood.
The glaring red color woke her up suddenly. The surroundings were extremely dark, just like the long pavilion.
She suddenly broke out in a cold sweat, and a feeling of panic swirled in her mind.
Eunuch Bai just walked in with a bowl of medicine. Seeing that the light was out, he relit it.
He put down the medicine and said to the Queen Mother, "It was a windy summer evening and the lights went out. I hope you weren't frightened, Queen Mother."
"Little White, I just dreamt that my hands were covered in a lot of blood!" The Queen Mother looked at her hands, her tone full of despair, "My hands are all over, so much blood!"
