"Who wants to capture me and threaten my father?" Jin Suting asked casually.
"I don't know about that either. The master only told me this much and asked me to protect the young lady." Tan Er honestly told her everything she knew. "Tan Er really doesn't know anything else."
"Alright, alright, be good, I won't ask anymore." Jin Suting lowered her voice: "Who is that person outside the carriage now?"
"That's the coachman the master hired."
He was just an ordinary driver who would drop them off and then pay and leave.
"Yeah." Jin Suting nodded to show that she understood.
Then let's leave the city. After all, she's going to a safe place, and Qin'er will protect her. More importantly, if staying in Funing City will cause her father any concern, then she might as well leave for a while. She doesn't want to be a burden to anyone.
After a while, Jin Suting's hands were really hurt, and she whispered, "But why do you have to tie it so tightly? My wrist is almost broken."
Tan Er said, "The master was afraid that the young lady would run back to Funing City after waking up, so he kidnapped her."
Jin Suting: "..."
She no longer wanted to run away. How could she be so ignorant? However, she hadn't told Helan Ruizhe about leaving the city in advance...
"But it's tied so tightly, how can I untie it?"
Qin'er had a helpless look on her face, and nodded her chin behind her: "Miss, I'm tied up too." She had no choice.
Okay, okay, Jin Suting continued to lean against the wall of the carriage, thinking that her hands would not hurt if she had a big chicken leg and braised fish, but she was really a little hungry. She didn't have any midnight snack when she came back last night, and she hadn't had breakfast this morning.
“Ouch—”
The carriage was suddenly forced to stop, and the driver outside reined in the horse. The horse let out a long neigh, scaring away a flock of birds in the woods.
Before they left the forest, their carriage was stopped.
"What's going on?"
Jin Suting propped herself up and wanted to look out the window to see what was happening outside, but was stopped by Qin'er.
Qin'er hadn't known when she had positioned herself in front of Jin Suting, looking outside vigilantly.
It was obvious that the coachman outside was not very strong. After all, he was just an ordinary citizen and didn't even know the basic skills. He was quickly dealt with by the people who stopped the carriage.
Jin Suting and the others only heard a scream inside, and then silence returned.
"Ms. Jin, please come out by yourself." This voice was not unfamiliar. She was very sensitive to sounds, but for a moment she couldn't remember where she had heard it.
That person asked her to go out, so she went out? Well, that depends on whether she is willing to do so.
"You let me out without even telling me who you are. What are you thinking? Who knows if you will kill me on the spot after I get out!" Jin Suting was very panicked because she couldn't see the person coming and was afraid of the unknown danger, but she couldn't admit defeat, so she pretended not to be afraid.
"Heh." The people outside sneered, "Do you think I can't get in if you stay inside and don't come out?"
In the carriage, Qin'er bit off Jin Suting's hairpin, held it in her mouth and handed it to Jin Suting, asking her to cut the rope.
Jin Suting understood and did as she was told. After getting the hairpin, she and Qin'er rubbed the rope back to back while she dealt with someone outside who was either a human or a ghost.
"Didn't your mother teach you not to just enter a girl's sedan?"
The man outside still sneered. He didn't seem to want to kill Jin Suting right away and was still talking nonsense to her: "It seems that the girl really doesn't remember me?"
Jin Suting was confused. Did she know this guy? No, she didn't know many people in Funing City, and even fewer men. She hadn't caused any trouble or had any enemies.
Could it be that Lu Xiaoxiao was causing trouble again? But Lu Xiaoxiao hadn't bothered her in a long time...
"I don't know many people. If the handsome guy out there says his name, I'll definitely recognize who you are!"
"You never remember my name, so what's the point of saying it over and over again?"
Oh, has this guy been hurt by her before? Or has he suffered some emotional trauma from her? But she's only been around a few men, Jin Suting's mind raced. But besides Helan Ruizhe, she hasn't had any romantic developments with other men. That guy outside can't be Helan Yinsheng, right? He doesn't sound like that.
The person outside just called herself "Miss Jin", so could it be that she was not "Jin Suting" but another girl with the same surname as her? He stopped the wrong carriage and found the wrong person.
"Hey, young man out there," Jin Suting said cheerfully, seeing the rope was about to fray. "Which 'Miss Jin' are you talking about? My name is Jin Suting. I've never done anything harmful, and I've never been involved in any romantic affairs. So, are you, are you looking for the wrong person?"
"Impossible." The person outside continued to sneer and said in a certain tone, "I'm looking for you, Jin Suting."
"There's still so much nonsense."
Jin Suting was startled. "Still?" Had she spoken much to the people outside?! It looked like someone she knew was the perpetrator! Before she could cut the rope, the people outside came towards the carriage.
He was moving so fast that the people in the carriage only felt a gust of wind coming in front of them.
Qin'er finally broke free from the rope, grabbed the hairpin in Jin Suting's hand, and rushed out like a gust of wind, leaving a sentence to Jin Suting, "Miss, stay in the carriage and don't move."
Even Jin Suting didn't have time to say that her rope had not been untied yet, so how could she move?
She had no choice but to pick up the hairpin herself and use the pointed end to rub the rope on her wrist.
