Um

"I'm fine, Susu, I'm fine."

Helan Ruizhe tried hard to smile and pretend to be relaxed.

But his clenched fists and pale lips betrayed his true physical condition.

"I'll take you to the infirmary."

She was going to the clinic, not back to the East Palace. She didn't want to go back to that place that irritated her.

Jin Suting helped Helan Ruizhe up and walked towards the clinic on Tingnan Street.

——

"Hey, it's you two again~"

The proprietress of the South Street Clinic seemed to have been disturbed from her sweet dream, with a look of impatience on her face, but when she saw the expressions of Jin Suting and Helan Ruizhe clearly, she put on a teasing smile.

Jin Suting smiled at her embarrassedly. Helan Ruizhe leaned on her and was already unconscious.

"Tsk," the proprietress glanced at Helan Ruizhe and stepped back to make room for him. "Come in quickly."

"Lao Mo—" the proprietress called upstairs, "A patient is here."

"Wait a minute, that old guy is slow." The proprietress poured a pot of tea for Jin Suting. "Little girl, what's wrong with him at this time of night?"

The man glanced at Helan Ruizhe lying on the bed next to him, sighed inwardly, walked over to help him up, and said, "I can't explain this, I suddenly fainted."

Jin Suting carefully put the tea into Helan Ruizhe's mouth. He drank a few sips in a daze, still muttering her name.

"Tsk," the proprietress lowered her head and shook it, "Young people are so good. Even when they're sick, they can still be affectionate. Your husband is so good to you that he still calls your name even when he's unconscious."

Jin Suting paused holding the teacup, smiled, and said, "He is not my husband."

"Hey, how can this be? This shouldn't be the case..." Judging from the genuine concern in their eyes when Helan Ruizhe brought Jin Suting to the clinic last time and Jin Suting brought Helan Ruizhe to the clinic this time, they shouldn't be husband and wife.

Otherwise, they were in love with each other. After a few whispers, the boss lady understood that it must be a quarrel between the young couple!

Doctor Mo staggered down the stairs, yawning. The landlady went up to him and pinched him: "Why are you so slow? Patients can't wait, old man."

Gnashing his teeth, Dr. Mo didn't refute her and waved his hand, "Go, I'm here, isn't it this guy? Oh, he doesn't look well."

He casually glanced at Helan Ruizhe, who was half lying on Jin Suting's shoulder, with a worried look on his face.

"Doctor, please help me take a look. What's wrong with him?" Jin Suting didn't even realize that worry had overflowed from her heart and appeared on her brows.

"Don't be impatient," Doctor Mo walked over slowly, "You young people are just impatient."

As he spoke, he stretched out his left hand, held his breath, and felt Helan Ruizhe's pulse. He pondered, and Jin Suting's heart rose to his throat. He sighed, and Jin Suting was completely panicked.

"How is it, doctor?"

Doctor Mo opened one eye, but didn't stop moving his hands: "Stop chattering, be quiet."

So Jin Ting didn't dare to speak, and didn't even dare to breathe.

After a while, Doctor Mo finally let go of the pulse and stood up, saying, "Don't worry, you won't die."

What does this “cannot die” mean specifically?

Jin Suting was conflicted about whether to ask, but she finally asked politely, "Then what exactly is going on?"

Doctor Mo tutted, put his hands behind his back, and said reluctantly, "I'll prescribe some medicine for you."

"You look so stupid! The girl is worried. You'll die if I let you talk!" The proprietress was furious.

Doctor Mo frowned tightly, closed his eyes and said, "This guy was drugged with an aphrodisiac. What can I say?"
