Wow

"Hey, wait a minute, write your wish..." Si Shuo shouted at Shi Qingmiao who stomped away.

The old man selling lanterns handed him a pen and ink, smacking his lips as if he felt the same way as Si Shuo, "Isn't your wife's temper bad? She must have suffered a lot. My old lady used to have a bad temper too..."

Si Shuo didn't know whether to laugh or cry, and quickly wrote a few words he wanted to say, "Thank you for your concern, Grandpa, but I just like her temper."

Even after Si Shuo paid and left, the old man was still standing there, marveling, "How could there be a man in this world who is willing to be abused for no reason? It's love, love."

"What are you mumbling about?" The old woman squinted her eyes, trying to find the eye of the needle. "Come and help me pass the thread."

"The old woman is such a trouble!" The old man said this, but with a smile on his face he willingly went to help the old woman thread the needle.

"Where did you hear that you can release flowers under the Jiyue Bridge?" Shi Qingmiao was no longer angry. Now she only regretted not writing her wish on the lantern.

"I heard it from the palace maids in Fengluan Palace." Si Shuo squatted on the bank of Jiyue River and lit the lantern with the small matches he had just bought.

"I didn't expect you to have such a gentle hobby." As a woman, she didn't have much of a feeling about things like setting off lanterns, but Si Shuo was very superstitious.

"Help me push it." Si Shuo didn't respond to her. He just put the lantern into the water and instructed Shi Qingmiao to create some ripples on the river surface.

She likes playing in the water, and even if Si Shuo didn't tell her, she would push the lantern. As soon as she pushed hard, the lantern would be blown far away by the wind.

After staggering to the middle of the river, he stopped rushing forward so quickly and walked slowly towards the other side.

It's even a little magical. There is no wind on the river. Perhaps it is the moon that makes it move forward. The moon really helps people achieve their goals.

"Aren't you going to ask me what I wrote in it?" Both of them squatted, watching the lanterns go away as if they were watching a child leaving home.

The moon cast the shadows of two people on the river bank, swaying back and forth on the wet mud, appearing real and unreal.

The shorter shadow tilted his head and asked honestly, "What did you write on it?"

The tall man also glanced at her, then turned his head away and replied in a provocative tone, "I won't tell you."

"There's something wrong with you." Shi Qingmiao concluded that Si Shuo was really boring.

I went to look at the lantern flying away again. It seemed to be motionless, stopped on the shimmering lake, but then it seemed to move again, and I couldn't see or tell clearly.

"Okay, I'll tell you." Si Shuo's serious expression successfully attracted Shi Qingmiao and diverted her attention from the lanterns. "Shi Qingmiao gained ten pounds just by drinking water!"

"Si! Shuo!"

The short man chased the tall man all along the riverbank in a rage, shouting loudly and anxiously, "You're finished!"

At this moment, there happened to be a few couples walking under the Jiyue Bridge. They all thought that these two people were crazy, so they consciously made way for them.

Si Shuo ran around laughing and making a fuss for a while before asking for a ceasefire. He didn't care about being laughed at by Shi Qingmiao as a weakling, and sat under the marriage tree that was hung with red strings, cloth strips, and purses.

"You are too weak. You can't run anymore." As expected, he was laughed at. Shi Qingmiao sat down on the clean little green grass under the marriage tree that was not affected by the wetness of the river bank.

Si Shuo, on the other hand, didn't breathe much. Shi Qingmiao was so tired that she was sweating. She wiped the sweat off her face with her hands. Si Shuo took out a handkerchief and gave it to Shi Qingmiao, but didn't let her do it herself. Instead, he did it himself.

He moved closer to her and wiped away all the sweat on her head caused by the temperature and exercise. His movements were gentle and focused. Shi Qingmiao felt the temperature on her face getting higher.

"No, no, no need to wipe it." She dodged and began to stutter.

Si Shuo leaned against a very thick tree trunk. There were no such majestic trees in Simu Kingdom. There were very few green plants to be seen, and some were just single seedlings with thin arms and legs.

"I'm going to tell you a secret, do you want to listen?" Si Shuo suddenly looked at Shi Qingmiao mysteriously, but he could only see the back of her head - she straightened her back because of nervousness, and then she realized that it seemed a little too embarrassing, so she turned around and smiled and answered, "Let me tell you."

Si Shuo didn't pay any attention to Shi Qingmiao's suddenly stiff exterior and her deeply entangled and complicated heart. "Haven't you always wanted to know when my birthday is? In two days, June 14th."

Shi Qingmiao was no longer nervous. She turned around and looked at him with an interested expression, "Really? That's great! You can celebrate your birthday in Funing City!"

"June 14th is also my mother's death anniversary." Si Shuo said this without any emotion, almost making Shi Qingmiao stiffen again.

"Although it's offensive, but, isn't Mrs. Si still alive..." His voice became weaker and weaker for some reason. Shi Qingmiao looked at him with a sweet look, not knowing what to say.

"Ah, Madam Si is my adopted mother." Si Shuo's voice was flat, as if he was telling someone else's story. "Perhaps you don't know, but twenty years ago, there was a national teacher in the Simu Kingdom who killed all the children born to his concubines. That's why, despite having more than sixty concubines, not a single child was born. This is the reason. When I was born nineteen years ago, my biological mother died of complications during childbirth. To protect me, the king placed me in the Si family and announced to the public that there were two lives lost."

"What happened next?" Shi Qingmiao listened intently, her entire mind filled with curiosity about the aftermath of this incident. "Was the Imperial Master eliminated?"

Si Shuo found it funny. He had said so much before, but Shi Qingmiao only cared about whether the bad guys were eliminated.

"When I was two years old, he was struck by lightning while performing a sacrifice to pray for rain."
