Chapter 194 [Extra] Diverse Travel · 2 [Extra]

"Oh, he's Jason, so he's definitely not a bad guy."

It was not difficult to guess what the words of the child next to the Joker meant, so many guesses came to Red Hood's mind in an instant, but no matter which one, it made his scalp tingle and he felt creepy.

The eyes behind the hood were fixed on the Joker. Even though he didn't know much about this visitor from another world, his sensitivity to the aura of crime was enough to confirm that the Joker was also a vicious and cruel lunatic. Even though he had a child with him and was willing to tolerate and forgive her, it didn't mean that he could change his ways and become a good person from now on. Red Hood was absolutely sure of this.

He watched as the little girl spoke out against the Joker's stance, but the man in a tuxedo next to her didn't get angry, and even curled his lips as if he was used to it. In fact, he was so angry that he wanted to laugh, but he didn't forcefully stop Megan from playing with Robin, and later compromised with her wish...

The clown frowned deeply and said unhappily, "Didn't you see how he attacked your good daddy just now?" Wasn't that enough for her to stand with him temporarily?

He really found it funny and couldn't help laughing. In that sharp and piercing laughter, he remembered that before Megan understood what was happening, she rushed out and shouted at the cynical boy to get lost. She even ignored the possible danger and exposed their relationship and insisted on running to his side. At that moment, she even stood in front of the Red Hood to prevent him from attacking the Joker.

Well, her attitude had been clearly shown long ago and there was no room for doubt.

The Joker calmly looked down at Megan, unfazed by the possibility of an attack from the enemy. The situation couldn't get any more complicated. He believed the older boy had this understanding, and his Megan hadn't gotten involved in the games of vigilantes and lunatics. Strange, wasn't it? He'd actually raised a child like this!

Megan looked up at him, a thoughtful look on her young face. After a while, the Joker felt something was wrong. Sure enough, the child attacked him directly, slapping him fiercely, and obviously there was some resentment. The Joker said: "Do you really have to take the same stance as Robin and think that I am an unforgivable villain?"

"You're the best dad." But Megan thought she shouldn't be asked whether he was a bad man.

She stood beside the clown, furious, waiting for him to look away before secretly kicking him. Didn't the clown know she was up to something? But he casually tolerated it, glancing off with interest. "My dear friend, you've been watching this for so long, why don't you give us some comments on this wonderful or cheesy play? Or perhaps share your thoughts?"

Sure enough, as soon as he finished speaking, a tall dark figure walked out from behind the corner in front, with a long cloak hanging behind him. The armor on his body had a texture similar to metal, and he wore a pointed helmet on his head, revealing only the lower half of his face. He was the same as Robin's partner that Megan had seen twice in her memory. She looked around and found that Big Red Head and Batman had surrounded them, but no one spoke.

Megan: "Wow! This is the third time I've seen Robin's partner!" The first time was the night the Joker attacked the port building, and the second time was in Jason's safe house, when he saw Batman hanging out the window.

However, the clown patted her fluffy head and said, "Alas, you didn't remember it at the time, but this is actually the fourth time you have seen him."

They had just suddenly and strangely appeared in Gotham today, so the first three times the little girl had seen Batman were from their world, and the focus of her words was on 'Robin', which clearly showed that she was not very familiar with Batman.

Batman standing here can undoubtedly get information from their conversation and summarize it quickly. For him, he has truly watched the whole process. The Batcomputer is connected to countless surveillance cameras, among which there are programs that are set up to track and lock the figures and whereabouts of everyone in Arkham. Among them, the Joker has the highest priority. When his figure first appears in the surveillance screen, he is quickly locked.

Batman happened to be in the Batcave at the time. Without hesitation, he sent his location to the other vigilantes, including Red Hood. He saw Red Hood nearby from the surveillance footage and rushed over, then launched an attack.

But the clown's action was clearly an inducement!

Red Hood doesn't know as much about the Joker as Batman does. When he realized in the Batcave that this incident was not simple, he forced the others to go back, and he rushed to the scene in the Batplane. However, not long after he started, he saw a little girl popping out from behind the Joker, and she was undoubtedly heading towards the Joker.

Even though the surveillance footage wasn't very clear, he subconsciously thought it was an intimate gesture. He suddenly thought... there was also a child following him, eager to launch a surprise attack.

After Batman came to his senses, he saw that subsequent developments indeed confirmed this. The Joker raised an innocent and harmless child and was unexpectedly patient with her, but her mental state was obviously different. She relied on the Joker's pills to maintain a normal daily life. Judging from the way they got along, they definitely lived together for quite a while.

What really shocked him was the child's words, "He's Jason." She knew Jason was the second Robin, and even hinted at being close friends with him. So, did the Joker know the second Robin's true identity? It sounded like the Joker already knew and tolerated their friendship.

Now when he stood in front of them, the clown only greeted him with that one sentence, and then continued to talk to the child as if no one was around. "You can even call the little bat your 'savior'!"

The Joker had a half-smile on his face, as he thought of something happy. At that time, Batman had just captured him, the instigator of the riot, and then on the other side, the first generation Robin came out with the child that he had deliberately hidden. The temperature was cold at that time, and her skin had been frozen purple, and she was also running a fever. If Robin had found her later, the high fever would really burn her brain.

He didn't know why he was so happy. Megan was still thinking about when she was so old that she was saved by Batman, but she couldn't think of anything. So she looked up at her father and asked, "Then you're not here?"

Megan wondered confusedly, if the Joker was there, how could Batman save her?

The Joker glanced down at her. Megan hadn't yet discerned his emotion, but Batman, standing opposite her, had already sensed a subtle unease in him. Clearly, something had happened between them. Perhaps they weren't as close as they are now back then? He made various assumptions, and seeing the situation at a stalemate, he stepped forward and asked, "Where are you from, and what's your purpose?"

The Dark Knight's voice was low and hoarse, and because it sounded strange, it easily attracted Megan's attention. She asked her father, "Oh, Dad, this is not our world? Then where do we live and how do we pay for daily expenses?"

She is still a child and has no way to work to earn money. Even if she has cash and bank cards in her pocket, she doesn't know if they can be used in another world.

Her thoughts were completely different from what Batman said, but it was obvious that the child was very worried about this matter. She lowered her eyes and looked unhappy. She raised her hand and grabbed the Joker's arm, "Dad, are you going to work to support me again?"

The information revealed from the child was enough for Red Hood to sneer uncontrollably. He watched coldly, completely unaware of why his former self in that world would become friends with such a little girl. He especially didn't believe that he was so dull as to not notice anything unusual about this child.

What on earth is going on in that kid's head?

The Joker answered Megan slowly, "Let's follow your Uncle Bat and visit Wayne Manor? If he's stingy..."

Megan: "I still want to go back to Arkham." She didn't understand what the change of world meant yet, because she hadn't really seen how things and people had changed. She just had an unconscious rejection and fear of the world outside this deserted and abandoned alley, and subconsciously wanted to return to the place she thought was safest.

"But you will be disappointed, just like your good friend Robin has grown up and changed. He doesn't recognize you, and those old acquaintances in Arkham don't recognize you either. My dear," he explained to the child with a grim smile and comforted her.

"In this world, only you and I depend on each other."

Megan seemed stunned, and the Joker looked at Batman, his smile deepening as he said, "Haven't you made up your mind yet? Bat, don't be so stingy."

"If I separate from little Megan, she'll definitely cry for her daddy. But me? This is my beloved child!" He lowered his head and saw the child's pitiful expression, so he pinched her cheeks. "You are mine. This may comfort you now, but maybe when you grow up a little, you will be impatient with the supervision of the head of the family."

Meghan didn't want to argue with him at all. She looked at him with moist eyes and asked sullenly, "Then I am still your child. You won't abandon me, right?"

As the father and daughter were cuddling, Batman exchanged a glance with the Red Hood. Even though they were both wearing helmets, the tacit understanding they had built from years of fighting side by side remained. What to do with this Joker and his child, Megan, was a major dilemma. There was no way they could imprison the Joker in Arkham, as there was already a Joker there. And what about separating them? The Joker's message was clear: don't do something so outrageous as to separate father and daughter, or he'd go mad.

So should we follow the Joker's suggestion and 'invite' them to Wayne Manor?

Batman looked down at the child beside the Joker. Unlike Robin, she had not received professional training. She had the physique of an ordinary child, weak and powerless, and had mental problems. She was also extremely dependent on the adults around her. However, what was more certain than these was that she was unscrupulous in her interactions with the Joker and did not seem to have been abused or hurt at all.

But if she stayed with the Joker long enough, wouldn't the madmen in that world's Arkham be unaware of her existence? Megan's own words just now proved that she had lived in Arkham before, but how many normal people could there be in that place? Only Killer Croc and Poison Ivy were tolerant of children and might even offer her shelter, but what about the others?

Someone must have tried to attack Megan, but the Joker handled those things neatly and efficiently, so Megan was not hurt. This is the only reason that can explain it.

Moreover, Megan is too fragile. She needs "love" and a sense of security in her growth. No matter what the Joker's purpose in raising her is, he has extraordinary patience and care for her, so much so that he said nonchalantly: Judging from Megan's ideas, Red Hood is not a bad person.

They have smoothly weathered the ideological battle and it was the Joker who compromised.

Batman said, "You can't enter Wayne Manor as the Joker."

The author has something to say:

Didn't expect this? Hehe.

Megan: Red Hood or Joker, I'll beat them all up! (punching and kicking, seriously hey ha.gif)
