Chapter 120 Misunderstanding
Si Gu Men
These past few days, Greenie has developed a new hobby: listening to stories about the number one in the world. Originally, she wanted to inquire about Li Xiangxian, but later she discovered that others didn't know much about him either. They only knew that he was temporarily here to help his younger brother manage affairs, and that his younger brother was said to be the number one in the world.
Today she went to the teahouse again to listen to the story of the greatest in the world.
The storyteller on the stage was vividly recounting the tale: "This Master Li, the number one martial arts master in the world, possessed unparalleled skill and graceful movements. He once fought a great battle against the Golden Mandarin Duck Alliance in the East Sea, single-handedly defeating the Alliance's leader, Di Feisheng, and a host of other masters. The scene was truly awe-inspiring! It's just a pity that Master Li was betrayed by those around him, poisoned with the most potent poison in the world, the Jade Tea Poison. In the end, he and the great demon Di Feisheng both fell into the East Sea." The audience below listened with great interest, occasionally letting out gasps of amazement. Greenie was also engrossed, her eyes fixed on the storyteller.
Just then, a man dressed in white walked into the teahouse. He was tall and had an extraordinary air about him, but everyone was so engrossed in the conversation that no one noticed him.
Li Xiangxian had just finished his business when he turned around and found that Lü'er was gone. Remembering where she had been spending the last few days, he came looking for her. Looking at Lü'er, who was listening intently, he felt a pang of sadness. She used to be with him every day, but now she was nowhere to be seen.
He slowly walked over and sat down beside Lü'er. Lü'er didn't react until he sat down, then coughed lightly. Lü'er, who was listening intently, was startled by the cough, turned her head, and saw Li Xiangxian. A hint of surprise appeared on her face, but she quickly became somewhat uncomfortable.
"What, is this story of being the best in the world so appealing?" Li Xiangxian's tone carried a hint of jealousy. (Li Lianhua: Brother, I'm your younger brother. Li Xiangxian: Forgot? Li Lianhua: Am I still your most beloved younger brother? Lan'er: Now you know how I feel, right? Li Lianhua: ...)
Greenie calmly said, "It is quite interesting, and I didn't know you had such a capable younger brother." Li Xiangxian snorted coldly, "Hmph, his capability has nothing to do with you, he already has a fiancée."
Greenie waved her hand. She knew about this. Although she hadn't heard the whole story, she had heard from others that his previous fiancée had broken up with him, and he had found someone else. She heard that the two were very much in love. Li Xiangyi had even planted a whole mountain of flowers just to confess his love to his sweetheart, and now that place had become a popular spot for confessions. Thinking of this, she felt a pang of envy.
Seeing her expression, Li Xiangxian misunderstood. He felt a pang of sadness, thinking that Lü'er liked his younger brother and was therefore envious of Qing'er. With that thought, he suppressed his discomfort and got up to leave.
Greenie watched him arrive and then immediately leave, her face filled with confusion. But by then, Li Xiangxian had already walked out the door, and she couldn't care less about the story anymore; she quickly chased after him. She felt that Li Xiangxian was acting a bit strange today, and she had to find out what was wrong with him.
"Li Xiangxian" Greenie quickly caught up and stopped him.
Li Xiangxian stopped, his eyes lowered, and he forced a calm expression, saying, "You don't need to chase after me. I just have something to do." But Lü'er persisted, tugging at his sleeve, "You're acting strange today. Did I do something to upset you?" She hadn't been a hindrance these past few days; she'd been busy listening to stories. (Author's note: Is it possible that the problem lies in your constant listening to stories?)
Li Xiangxian turned his face away and whispered, "No." Lü'er clearly didn't believe him. She looked around and noticed many people staring. Not wanting to be surrounded by so many people, she quickly pulled Li Xiangxian away.
When they reached a grove of trees, Greenie released him and turned to stare at him. Neither spoke; both remained silent. Finally, Greenie gave in and asked, "Tell me, what's wrong?"
Li Xiangxian opened his mouth, but didn't know what to say. Seeing his expression, Lü'er suddenly became a little angry. "Fine, don't tell me then. I don't want to know anymore." After saying that, she turned and left.
Li Xiangxian panicked and instinctively grabbed her hand.
Greenie turned around and said angrily, "Let go."
Li Xiangxian gripped her hand tighter. He had a premonition that if he let go now, he would lose her forever. He hesitated before asking, "Lü'er, do you...do you like my younger brother?"
Greenie almost laughed in anger upon hearing this; she finally understood why he was being difficult. "I've never even met your brother, which eye of yours saw that I like him?"
