Chapter 143 Premeditated
Soon everyone dispersed, leaving only Li Lianhua and Qing'er.
Li Lianhua grinned foolishly at Qing'er. He felt lightheaded, because Qing'er had agreed to marry him.
Qing'er found his expression amusing, then reached out and pinched his cheek. "Hua Hua, snap out of it."
"Qing'er, I'm so happy," Li Lianhua said earnestly, holding Qing'er's hand. Qing'er smiled and said, "I know you're happy, and I'm happy too."
Li Lianhua and Qing'er gazed at each other, their eyes filled with deep affection. Their hearts pounded like drums. Li Lianhua pulled Qing'er into his arms and kissed her. After an unknown amount of time, Li Lianhua slowly pulled away, but then gently pulled her back into his embrace.
"Qing'er, I feel like I'm dreaming," Li Lianhua murmured. Qing'er hugged him back and whispered, "Huahua, it's not a dream, it's all real. I'll always be with you."
“Okay,” Li Lianhua said softly, as if that one word contained a thousand words. His voice was deep and gentle, like a breeze blowing across a calm lake, causing ripples.
He tightened his grip on Qing'er, as if trying to meld her into his very bones.
After a while, Li Lianhua suddenly said, "Qing'er, our wedding will be held a year from now." Ten days ago, he went to see the Queen Mother of the West on his own. They had agreed that as long as Qing'er agreed, the wedding would be held a year from now. He believed that by then, his master and mistress would have ascended to heaven, and it would take time to prepare for the wedding, so it would be just right.
Qing'er curled the corners of her lips and said, "You planned this all along! Aren't you afraid I might not agree?"
"No, Qing'er loves me so much, she definitely wouldn't want me to be sad." Li Lianhua smiled slyly, her eyes sparkling. Qing'er smiled helplessly; it was indeed true.
In the following days, Li Lianhua became very busy. He designed the wedding dress himself and even learned weapon crafting to make it. Qing'er wanted to help, but Li Lianhua refused, saying she didn't need to worry about anything and could just wait to be his bride. So she didn't care about anything.
Time passed quickly, and a month before Li Hua and her husband were to get married, Qi Mushan and Granny Cen finally ascended to heaven.
Qing'er received the message from the Heavenly Dao and arrived at the South Heavenly Gate with Li Lianhua early in the morning to wait.
Soon, two figures appeared at the South Heavenly Gate. Qi Mushan's eyes lit up as he saw Granny Cen standing to the side. He said happily, "Old woman, we have really ascended to heaven."
Granny Cen ignored him and instead looked at Li Lianhua and Qing'er beside her. Then, she pushed aside the lacquered wood mountain blocking her way and strode forward to find them, saying, "Xiangyi, Qing'er." She was in a good mood to see her disciple and his wife as soon as she arrived. She had thought they would have to find their own way to get to this unfamiliar place.
“Master’s wife (Aunt Cen).”
Qi Mushan also walked over and slapped Li Lianhua on the shoulder, saying, "Good lad, looks like you're doing well here."
When Li Lianhua saw his master and mistress again, he was still a little excited. However, upon hearing this, he said proudly, "Of course, your disciple can get by anywhere."
Qi Mushan said with disdain, "Tsk! You're really getting out of control now that I've told you you're fat." Although he said that, he was actually quite happy, which meant that his disciple hadn't been bullied here.
Li Lianhua pouted, turned her head, and looked at Qing'er with her big, watery eyes full of grievance, as if she had suffered a great injustice.
"Qing'er~" His voice carried a slight hint of coquetry, "Look at Master, he actually said I'm fat!"
Seeing this, Qing'er comforted her, "No, Hua Hua isn't fat at all. Master must have just forgotten about you because he hasn't seen you in so long."
Li Lianhua said in a serious tone, "Yes, yes, maybe Master is just getting old and his eyesight isn't very good."
Qing'er: ……
Qi Mushan watched in stunned silence, while Granny Cen opened her mouth as if to say something, but then hesitated to speak.
However, Qi Mushan, who was in a sudden mood, jumped up in anger and said, "You brat, it's been so long, you're still as annoying as ever." After saying that, he was about to go up and beat someone up.
Seeing this, Li Lianhua quickly ran away, while Qi Mushan chased after her, cursing, "You brat, you stop right there!"
Seeing more and more people coming this way, Qing'er quickly stepped forward to stop Qi Mushan, "Uncle Qi, calm down, Huahua is just playing around." Granny Cen also chimed in, "Alright, alright, you're all grown up, yet you're still acting like a child."
Qi Mushan stopped, muttering, "This kid is getting more and more disrespectful." Seeing that Qi Mushan had stopped chasing, Li Lianhua ran back with a grin, "Master, I'm just so happy to see you after so long."
