Chapter 30 has an ambush.
Before Qing'er could even see her surroundings clearly, she heard someone shout, "Oh no, there's an ambush!" Then she heard a loud bang. Instinctively, she threw out a few barriers, creating one for herself as well. When she looked around, she saw everyone staring at her in disbelief. The barriers she had thrown out had separated those who were close to the explosion.
The reason the people around her looked at her like that was because she suddenly appeared, and then her body emitted a blue light. Several blue lights then enveloped them. They originally thought that they would be seriously injured or killed, but who knew that the blue light saved them and they were completely unharmed.
"Um... excuse me, where is this place?" Qing'er felt a little uncomfortable being stared at, and silently withdrew the barrier.
Hearing Qing'er's question, they all came to their senses. One of them stepped forward and bowed, saying, "Thank you for saving my life, young lady. I am Liu Rujing from the Si Gu Sect. This is the Golden Mandarin Duck Alliance. We were fighting with the Golden Mandarin Duck Alliance members here, but who knew they would be so unethical and plant explosives." The people behind him also bowed, saying, "Thank you for saving my life, young lady." After regaining their senses, the people from the Si Gu Sect gathered together.
"Yeah, I don't know what they were thinking, planting explosives on their own turf. Don't they want to live? Do they know they can't beat us? Are they trying to take us all down with them?" one of the disciples said suspiciously.
"Bullshit, how could we possibly lose to you?" The Golden Mandarin Alliance members on the other side were also puzzled. How could they possibly plant explosives on their own territory?
"Putting aside whether they can win or not, just look at planting explosives on their own turf. If they don't want to die together with their own people, what kind of operation is this?" someone from Sigumen questioned.
Qing'er finally understood. It was a fight between two groups that she happened to stumble upon. But… Si Gu Men… Jin Yuan Meng? Why did those names sound so familiar? She racked her brains. Finally, she found it in a corner of her memory: wasn't this the Lotus Pavilion from a popular TV drama in the world where her wisp of soul had previously resided? So this was the time when Shan Gu Dao had faked his death, and Li Xiangyi and Di Feisheng were locked in battle. And this was the place where the fifty-eight members of Si Gu Men had been killed in the explosion. She had saved them without knowing it.
While Qing'er was thinking, the two sides were still deadlocked. The people from Si Gu Men said that the Jin Yuan Alliance had planted the explosives themselves, but the Jin Yuan Alliance denied it and thought that Si Gu Men had planted them secretly.
"Heh! You guys are really useless. They didn't even notice all those explosives planted on your turf," the Si Gu Men member said sarcastically. It looked like another fight was about to break out.
Knowing what kind of world this was, Qing'er suddenly spoke up: "Wait a minute, there might be more to this explosives matter than meets the eye." Everyone looked at her, and Liu Rujing cupped his hands and said, "Does Miss know something?"
"Is it possible that there are traitors on both sides who have cooperated and plan to blow you all up so they can reap the benefits?" Qing'er continued, "Think about it, the Golden Mandarin Duck Alliance has no reason to plant explosives on its own territory to hurt its own people, and the Four Gates wouldn't be stupid enough to detonate explosives in the enemy camp, wouldn't that blow up their own people too? So it's very likely that a third party planted explosives while your two factions were fighting, wanting to make you both suffer heavy losses."
After listening to Qing'er's analysis, everyone agreed that it made perfect sense, and the tense atmosphere between the two sides eased considerably. Liu Rujing pondered for a moment, then cupped his hands and said, "What you say is absolutely right, Miss. We will investigate this matter thoroughly."
"Oh no, we've been ambushed! No one's here to support our sect leader. Will he be alright?" Suddenly, one of the Four Gates members remembered his sect leader and asked in a panic.
"No way, the sect leader is so powerful," someone said calmly. Their sect leader was the best in the world, how could anything happen to him?
