Chapter 34 Finding People
Li Xiangyi left through the Four Gates and unknowingly walked back to the East Sea. He collapsed as he walked. A short while later, a monk came and took him away.
"Monk, you saved my life again with your golden needles," Li Xiangyi said as he opened his eyes and got off the bed.
"Amitabha! It was Sect Leader Li's profound internal strength that saved him." (Endless)
The monk Wuliao clasped his hands together and bowed slightly. Li Xiangyi shook his head and said with a wry smile, "Monk, there's no need to be so modest."
"Sect Leader Li, the golden needles will change your appearance, and the poison hasn't been cured yet. Sect Leader Li, you should go back to Sigu Sect as soon as possible and ask the sect members to help find the antidote," Monk Wule advised worriedly.
"How much time is left?" Li Xiangyi asked. Monk Wule sighed, "Ten years." Li Xiangyi's expression was calm, as if the news had not had a great impact on him. "Ten years is enough." After he finds his senior brother's body, he will spend the rest of his time with his master and mistress.
He wanted to try to persuade Li Xiangyi again, but Li Xiangyi clearly wouldn't listen.
“Monk, I understand now. When the mind is pure, lotus flowers bloom everywhere. Li Xiangyi died in the East Sea, and from now on, there will only be Li Lianhua in the world.” Li Lianhua looked at the slanderous words on the wall, interrupted Wu Liao who was about to continue persuading him, and then said, “I’m leaving.”
He returned to the East China Sea, gazing blankly at the sea. This was the scene Qing'er witnessed upon arrival: a man in white robes, his garments fluttering in the wind, as if he might be swept away by the sea breeze at any moment. He looked like an abandoned puppy, inexplicably pitiful.
Qing'er's eyes flickered slightly, then she smiled and stepped forward to ask, "Young Master."
Li Lianhua knew someone was approaching from the beginning, but he didn't turn around until Qing'er spoke.
Li Lianhua turned around and saw a beautiful woman with almond-shaped eyes that were slightly upturned at the corners. Her eyes seemed to sparkle with light as she looked around. When she smiled, her cheeks had shallow dimples, and even the blue tassels hanging down by her temples trembled slightly.
Li Lianhua cupped his hands in greeting and said calmly, "My name is Li Lianhua. May I ask what brings you here, young lady?"
Qing'er stepped forward and said, "Young master, you must have been standing here for quite a while. I just wanted to ask if you have seen Li Xiangyi, the leader of the Si Gu Sect?"
A hint of wariness flashed in Li Lianhua's eyes. "Does the young lady have something to discuss with Li Xiangyi?"
Qing'er lowered her head, a hint of a smile flashing in her eyes, but her voice was somewhat disappointed as she said, "I promised a senior from Qimu Mountain that I would help him find his disciple, Li Xiangyi, but I've searched all over here and haven't found him."
Li Lianhua's heart skipped a beat, and a look of astonishment appeared on his face. Master? Master knew he was in trouble? Li Lianhua was filled with mixed emotions, but he forced himself to remain calm. "Miss, I haven't seen Li Xiangyi. But I heard that he and Di Feisheng fell into the East Sea while they were fighting, and he might be dead." Then he tentatively asked, "Um...Miss, have you seen Li Xiangyi?"
“No, I heard he’s the best in the world, how could he die so easily?” Qing’er said firmly, then shook her head. “I’ve never met him, I’ve only heard of his great name. Senior Qi Mushan said he was an extremely outstanding disciple.” She raised her eyes and carefully examined Li Lianhua.
Hearing that she hadn't seen her before, Li Lianhua breathed a sigh of relief, but felt a little uncomfortable being stared at. "Miss, is there something wrong with me?"
Qing'er tilted her head and said, "Just call me Qing'er. You have such an extraordinary air about you, Young Master Li. At first, I thought you were Li Xiangyi."
Li Lianhua's heart skipped a beat. He touched his nose and said, "How could that be? I'm just an ordinary citizen."
"Hehe! I suppose so. I've heard that Li Xiangyi is dashing, unrestrained, and as radiant as the sun. He certainly doesn't resemble you, young master." Qing'er chuckled playfully. But inwardly, she sighed. It was clearly the same person, yet in just one day, he had changed so much.
Li Lianhua considered revealing his identity, but after a moment's hesitation, he decided against it, saying only, "Young lady, your sincerity is admirable. However, finding you here will likely be difficult; in this vast sea of people, where can one possibly look?"
Qing'er's eyes lit up, and she said, "Since you've been here for so long, young master, you must be familiar with this area. Could you help me search?" Li Lianhua initially wanted to refuse, but he couldn't bear to leave a young lady searching alone, worried about her safety. Since he didn't know where to go for the time being, he nodded, "Alright, I'll accompany you." So, the two began searching along the beach. (Li Lianhua: Who understands? Looking for yourself.)
