Chapter 80 The God of Food
Li Lianhua picked up a piece and took a bite, her eyes instantly lighting up. Then she ate silently, while also putting more food on Qing'er's plate.
After they had eaten and drunk their fill, it gradually got dark, and they lay down on the ground and looked up at the sky.
Li Lianhua thought this was the best meal he had ever eaten, so he asked, "Qing'er, where did you buy these dishes? We can buy more to keep on hand."
"I can't buy it. This was made by the God of Cookery. If you like it, I'll ask him to make more." Qing'er said lazily.
"The God of Cookery?" Li Lianhua asked curiously. She had heard Qing'er mention it last time, but she hadn't gone into details.
“Yes, she’s a chef from heaven.” Qing’er sat up as she said this. Li Lianhua, seeing her sit up, also sat up.
"Hua Hua, I don't think I've told you about my identity in detail. Since we're on the topic, let me tell you about where I live," Qing'er said softly.
Li Lianhua looked at Qing'er with anticipation in his eyes, "Okay." He wanted to know more about Qing'er.
Qing'er took a deep breath and slowly said, "In our world, there is a mortal realm and a heavenly court, and I am the fifth princess of the heavenly court. I have four older sisters, two younger sisters, and a mother. The mother is the ruler of the heavenly court and is usually very busy, so my sisters and I play by ourselves. Actually, the heavenly court used to be very boring. All we did was dance. Before the heavenly rules were changed, we were not allowed to descend to the mortal realm without permission."
Hearing this, Li Lianhua asked with some doubt, "Don't immortals cultivate?" Does that mean that once mortals become immortals, they no longer need to cultivate?
Qing'er said in a complicated tone, "5 million years ago, everyone worked very hard to cultivate. But after a great war, they entered a period of stability, and gradually people only knew how to enjoy themselves and stopped cultivating." She paused and continued, "Actually, this is wrong. If no one cultivates in a world of immortals, the world will degenerate and eventually disappear."
"Later, Heaven, in desperation, sent a wisp of my soul to another world, intending to return when the time was right. This method was indeed very effective. The world where that wisp of soul resided had a great country, and the people living there all dreamed of cultivating immortality. As soon as that wisp of soul returned, it influenced me, so I began to cultivate diligently." Thinking of this, Qing'er found it somewhat amusing; at first, she had thought she had transmigrated.
Li Lianhua looked at her with affection, "Qing'er must be very powerful now."
"Of course! I'm the most powerful in the entire Three Realms!" Qing'er said, proudly raising her chin. Li Lianhua smiled and patted her head. "So, Qing'er, who's so powerful, can you take me with you wherever you go?" Qing'er blinked. "No."
"Why?" Li Lianhua's heart tightened slightly.
Seeing that Li Lianhua was a little sad, Qing'er quickly added, "Your cultivation level is not high enough, so I can't take you back yet. I have to go back and check on you in a while."
Li Lianhua breathed a sigh of relief. As long as Qing'er didn't want to stay with him, that was fine. He could work harder if his cultivation level wasn't high enough.
As if remembering something, Li Lianhua asked hesitantly, "Qing'er, can I know why you came to this world?"
Seeing his cautious manner, Qing'er said helplessly, "Of course you can, Hua Hua. If there's anything you don't know in the future, you can ask me directly. I'll tell you as long as I know the answer."
"Okay," Li Lianhua felt a softness in her heart, and her eyes, when she looked at Qing'er, were filled with undisguised love.
Qing'er cleared her throat and continued, "Actually, the reason I came to this world is because the Little Heavenly Dao asked the Heavenly Dao of my world for help."
"Need help?" Li Lianhua had some questions, but she didn't speak, quietly waiting for Qing'er to continue.
Qing'er's eyes held a complex expression as she looked at Li Lianhua with heartache. "Actually, your world has gone back in time once."
Li Lianhua was shocked. The world had rewound? And was Qing'er feeling sorry for him? And even a little sad? "What happened?" How serious could this be? The world had rewound? Had some great demon appeared and killed everyone?
Because...you died.
Li Lianhua was stunned and asked incredulously, "I...I'm dead?" He didn't find it hard to believe he could die, but rather he couldn't believe he was so important that the world would have to rewind if he died.
