"What is your mission?" Bi asked bluntly.
"Wait a moment." Li Changzhou leaped up, his back to the wall, his body rising rapidly before landing gently on the roof—the whole process was like a reversed version of the jump.
A quick glance revealed that the nightingale who had escaped was dead, and the soul of the "woman" had somehow been transferred to someone else's body.
"Protect Edison, and what about you?" Li Changzhou sheathed the Emerald Bee Sword, not disappointed.
The unexpected and delightful encounter with Bi dampened his murderous urges, but he remembered this person for daring to set a trap for him.
“Protect Henry Goebbels. He seems to be here to assassinate Edison. He’s a werewolf.” Bea wasn’t sure—or rather, she wasn’t very concerned.
"So, this Mr. Henry Goebbels actually lived into 1880 and died in the future?"
"Let him die however he wants, what about Qianxia and that woman?" Bi looked around. "Didn't they participate? Or didn't they meet up?"
Li Changzhou glanced at the sky; it was almost dawn. His skin was burning hot, as if he had been exposed to the sun at noon on August 12th.
"I'll tell you later, take me flying to the train station."
Li Changzhou left the ground without seeing Bi eat a lollipop.
"Where is the train station?" she asked.
Li Changzhou glanced around and pointed south: "There."
It's not far from here.
Upon arriving at the train station, Li Changzhou took a timetable.
There are many trains to Menlo Park, and even special trains that are added by the railway authorities specifically for people who are curious, worshipful, or have ulterior motives.
When Edison invented the new phonograph, the railway bureau also added special trains (as written on the train schedule).
"There's a train at 5:20, not bad luck." Li Changzhou walked towards the platform; it was already 5:18.
There were quite a few people inside the train station, and they all seemed to be heading to Menlo Park. They were all watching the two of them.
A delicate, doll-like blonde, blue-eyed little girl riding on the shoulders of a handsome, dark-haired boy—this combination looks strange no matter how you look at it.
However, although it's strange, it's not a big deal. It's like a butterfly that's the size of two palms—as long as it's not a tiny person the size of a palm.
"Sir, please show me your ticket." The conductor smiled as she checked the ticket.
Li Changzhou looked into her eyes: "I've already given it to you."
Vampire hypnosis.
The flight attendant looked puzzled, then seemed to suddenly remember something and said very apologetically, "I'm sorry, sir, I made a mistake."
Abilities – now it's blood energy, but it's less.
"It's alright." Li Changzhou smiled and stepped into the train carriage.
To avoid hitting her head, Bi crossed her arms and placed them on top of Li Changzhou's head, then rested her chin on the point where her arms were crossed, looking limp and listless.
"Can't you come down?" Li Changzhou said as he searched for the darkest corner.
"Huh?" Bi was very impatient, her whole body only moving her mouth. "Do you know how much of a favor it is for me to ride on you? In your Xia country's terms, you must have been doing a good deed every day since the Jurassic period to have this blessing, understand?!"
"How much do I love lolis that I would start working towards this day back in the Jurassic period, before humans even existed?"
"Shut up!" Bi squeezed her legs together and pressed down with her knee, trying to strangle him.
Once they reached the corner, Bi finally got off his shoulder.
The two sat down and drew the curtains, blocking out the light. Time seemed to rewind several hours, back to before the sun had even risen.
The train whistle blared, spewing steam like a giant whale as it rumbled along the tracks.
The scenery on both sides looks very retro, but this is 1880. At that time, China was still a feudal society, but there were already high-rise buildings and steam trains in front of us.
What should I do when I get off the train? The train had been running for a while when Li Changzhou suddenly thought of this fatal problem.
He's not used to being a vampire yet.
A vampire? Perhaps he should carry a coffin with him and have Bi carry him out.
Aren't train carriages like coffins? Taking one off... seems like too much trouble.
Li Changzhou decided to put the problem aside for the time being. It's like finding yourself out of toilet paper when you go to the bathroom; no need to panic, it's not a big deal, there's always a way to deal with it.
"How have you been lately?" he asked, drawing back the curtains a crack to admire the view of 1880s America.
Bi sighed and lowered the curtain: "It's a long story."
A twelve or thirteen-year-old girl, what she said was hard to explain...
"Hahahaha!" Li Changzhou burst into laughter.
Bi Xiuqi clenched her fist and struck him hard in the abdomen.
Li Changzhou reached out and cupped her small but powerful fist, still smiling: "It's a long story, but it will take some time to get to Monroe Park. Please tell me more about your difficulties."
The train is slow.
In those days, the main mode of transportation was still horse-drawn carriages, and trains were only one-third the speed of trains in 1940. Don't ask him for the exact figure; he only found out from a book when he was helping Yang Qinglan look at information about 'when newspapers and telephones were first introduced,' and that book didn't even mention the train speed in 1940.
Bi withdrew her fist: "After returning from Prague—"
call!
With unexpected timing and speed, she threw another punch, only to have it caught in Li Changzhou's palm once again.
"What happened after you came back from Prague?" he asked.
“Everyone knows my identity and thinks that even if a white card player doesn’t actively harm people, the game will assign them tasks to fight against humans. Those people argued for a long time, and my father was forced to make me hide in a castle in the suburbs. It was really boring and pointless.”
