Chapter 41 Crocodiles

Once on the bus, before returning to the real world, the three changed into spare clothes.

A twenty-year-old man and two women changing clothes together—what an alluring scene! If Li Changzhou had known such a day would come, he would have been looking forward to it since he was in his mother's womb.

Unfortunately, one of them was a younger sister.

Extremely disappointing.

Li Changzhou simply stopped thinking about anything and did nothing, calmly wiping his body and changing into clean and comfortable clothes.

"Are you done yet?" he asked with his back to the two of them.

"Wait! I need to pull up my pants!" Li Qianxia said hurriedly.

"...Just say 'wait,' that's enough. You don't need to tell me what to do specifically." Li Changzhou sighed in near despair.

Back on the riverside commercial street, the three were exhausted. They waved to each other, said goodnight, and went back to sleep.

The next day, Saturday.

The autumnal equinox is just a few days away. Soon the days will be as long as the nights, and then they will gradually become shorter. But today, it still gets light very early.

Li Changzhou woke up at four o'clock and conducted comprehensive training in the courtyard.

Clean and jerk, bicep curl, behind-the-neck press, pull-up, barbell squat, bench press, tricep curl...

Five sets of each exercise, sixty repetitions per set.

Even with his physique and strength, he was still a little out of breath after finishing.

But I wasn't tired; my body felt warm and I felt very refreshed.

At this moment, Li Qianxia woke up.

"Brother, I'm going to find Qinglan. We'll go for a morning run by the river later."

"Um."

Li Changzhou exerted his strength, his muscles tensed up, like segments of a grapefruit, full of power and vitality.

Strength is like the most powerful soldiers, arrayed beneath his skin, ready to strike like an iron torrent at his command.

He took out a prop he had bought from a website recommended by Zheng Qing: a swarm of bee-like flying machines.

These aircraft are as agile as birds and have the ability to sense the human body from above, below, in front, and behind.

The aircraft flew around him, and one of them suddenly attacked him from the side.

Li Changzhou slightly turned his body, but was still grazed.

He twisted his neck, and when the second one came hurtling towards him, he easily dodged it.

After dodging five attacks in a row, he closed his eyes.

The aircraft made a slight "humming" sound, which was the sound of the propellers turning.

Li Changzhou suddenly turned his head, but his head still hit the ground.

He smiled; the money wasn't wasted, it did help improve his reaction time.

Just as I was happily dodging, my phone rang.

"Brother, Qinglan has caught a cold and can't go."

"cold?"

"Yes, she was fine when she came back last night, but she woke up this morning feeling dizzy, feverish, and weak all over. I've already given her her medicine. You can go run the errand by yourself, and buy breakfast for both of us while you're at it."

"Okay, be careful not to get infected."

After hanging up the phone, Li Changzhou put on a 20-kilogram vest, then put on a loose-fitting sports jacket that cost 50 yuan, and went out.

There is a dedicated running track along the river road. It is as long as the moat, providing a fitness option for citizens in different areas.

There are many people running: white-collar workers, the elderly, children following their parents, and high school students who can only be seen on Saturdays and Sundays.

Li Changzhou blended in among them, his slight panting making him completely inconspicuous.

What is that?

"Police?"

After running across the Mingcheng Bridge, a crowd gathered in front of the ecological park.

Li Changzhou hadn't paid much attention to it at first, but a sudden glance made him slow down.

The people coming from the moat were clearly government officials: two policemen and a dozen or so dressed in black combat uniforms and wearing gas masks, looking like they had just escaped from a nuclear weapons laboratory.

They were carrying stun guns, and some were even armed.

"Everyone, step back!" a policeman shouted into a megaphone at the crowd. "A crocodile has run into the moat. It's very dangerous. We're dealing with it!"

"Does one crocodile require so many people? Give me a net, I'll catch it!"

"You're just bragging!"

"My family raises crocodiles!"

"Thank you for your enthusiasm, but this is our business! Please step back! Please step back!" the police officer said as he pushed into the crowd.

Although the crowd disagreed, they wouldn't want to antagonize the police for no reason, so they all stepped back.

"Splash!"

It was like a dragon emerging from the sea; huge waves were churning up the wide surface of the moat, and the enormous crocodile head was raised like a monster.

"Bang bang bang!" They fired directly.

A gasp of surprise rippled through the shore.

"It's gone downstream! Chase it!"

People dressed in black combat uniforms and wearing gas masks ran into the distance, each one agile and well-trained.

Just then, a loud shout came from the crowd: "Am I handsome?"

"Grass!"

Who is it?!

Everyone turned around, but no one was found.

"roar!!!"

The crocodile let out a deep, dinosaur-like roar, turned its massive head, and lunged toward the shore.

The men in black combat uniforms didn't stand there dumbfounded.

"Let's do it!"

The gun didn't do much damage to the crocodile; its tough skin withstood most of the bullets, and the crocodile was eventually stunned by the electric shock.

"Make way! Make way!" A policeman with a megaphone dispersed the crowd, and soon the crocodile was pulled away in a black bag.

"What's that? A dinosaur?"

"That crocodile was fucking huge! No wonder they called in the police and even used guns!"

"Why use a gun? Crocodiles are living beings too. Can't we use tranquilizer darts?"

"I don't know if they'll sell them or not, but they'll definitely make a fortune if used for breeding!"

"What kind of animal would you breed with? You want to freeload in jail?"

Neither the unusually large crocodiles nor the gunshots frightened the citizens. They had been at peace for too long, and people could not see the danger; they only found it novel.
