"...My brother fell in love with you at first sight." It was the younger sister's lively and sunny voice, like a running deer.
"I heard it." A girl's voice as gentle as a breeze.
Li Changzhou was still half asleep and decided to sleep a little longer.
"My brother is handsome, cleans the house once a week, doesn't hate cooking, showers every day in the summer and occasionally skips a shower in the winter, has never been in a relationship, comes home on time, and is definitely a virgin. Want to consider him?"
Hey, who are you calling a virgin?
Have you conducted any research? Do you have the right to speak on this?
"Not interested." The girl's gentle voice rejected him without hesitation.
"Why!" The younger sister seemed confused. Why would anyone reject her brother, who was so good to her?
"Didn't you say that a guy who doesn't have a girlfriend, is still a virgin, yet indulges in excessive sexual activity, no girl would consider someone like that, right?"
I already said it wasn't excessive indulgence!
Li Changzhou felt it was necessary to prove himself, so he shook off his sleepiness and slowly opened his eyes.
The first thing I saw was a human-shaped black mist, without a face, without feet, and the hand gripping the roof handle had no fingers.
The black fog gazed silently out the window, like an ordinary passenger.
Li Changzhou didn't shout or show any surprise. This ghostly thing, which he didn't know if it was a hallucination, had been following him for a week.
I first saw it in my school dormitory.
He had a class in the first period that morning. He woke up at 7:30 and sat on his bed with a look of despair. Just then, he caught a glimpse of the black mist standing in the wash area, looking towards the girls' dormitory across the street.
My roommate in bed number two, right next to the black fog, casually combed his hair like an adult.
Li Changzhou, lying on the bed, trembled with fright.
He went to see a doctor today because of this, but the quack doctor diagnosed him as normal, saying he was just indulging in excessive sexual activity and had lost face in front of his sister.
Li Changzhou averted his gaze from the black mist.
I had hoped to see the pretty girl in the hat, but the single seat next to the back door was empty, with only the glaring sunlight crowding there, and no one in sight.
Turning his head again, Li Changzhou saw his younger sister.
She had somehow moved to the seat across the aisle—right behind the girl in the hat, next to her, by the window, sat someone.
It's that girl from earlier.
Li Changzhou propped himself up with his arms and sat up straight.
"Brother, you're awake?" Li Qianxia turned her head.
"Hmm." Li Changzhou nodded. "Aren't we there yet?"
He subconsciously used a pleasant voice, the kind that boys and girls unconsciously use when they're on the phone.
“Brother,” Li Qianxia said seriously, “I’m sorry.”
"I'm sorry?" Li Changzhou touched his face, wondering if she had drawn on his face.
With a ding-dong sound, the bus announcement came over the loudspeaker.
(The 'ring' has arrived at the station. Please be careful when opening the door, and please take care when getting off.)
