Chapter 399 Never Close Your Eyes

He wasn't the only one who noticed this look; Della, the old man, and many others did as well.

Except for Li Changzhou, everyone else's expressions turned crazed.

"Do it!" Della suddenly shouted.

In the firelight of the fireplace, the metal gleamed and sparkled, and the sounds of metal clanging filled the air.

Some drew their swords, others swung their giant axes, and still others drew their bows and shot arrows.

Whoosh!

An arrow, faster than anyone else's, struck Pat squarely in the head. The arrow pierced the air with tremendous force, yet Pat only swayed slightly.

"Roar!" The dead went berserk, possessing immense strength.

The corpses lying prone on the ground moved as fast as the wind.

The campfire in the fireplace was grabbed and smashed onto the dead body, and flames roared through the tavern.

Corpses and the living fought each other, and the light and shadow were projected onto the wall by the firelight, swaying like a shadow play.

The sound of boiling water grew increasingly shrill!

Li Changzhou stepped aside and did not make a move, quietly observing the battle and paying attention to the fighting style and level of this world.

What appears to be a chaotic battle is actually a battle fought by each individual, with each group guarding only their own territory, remaining indifferent even when the corpses have pinned another group to the ground and devoured them.

Weapons that strike corpses will be covered with a thin layer of blue blood, and most weapons will crack directly from the freezing effect of the blue blood.

Blood can destroy weapons, and the corpses are incredibly strong and fast, so everyone was hesitant to attack them and instead used flames to slowly wear them down.

Flames were clearly the nemesis of corpses; after a short while, the corpses began to rot as if they had thawed.

Pieces of flesh fell from his face, hands, and thighs, burning on the ground like oil, but not igniting any wood.

The corpse only stopped attacking when all the flesh had separated from the body and the bones had fallen apart.

In about five minutes, all the corpses in the tavern had turned to bones, and candlelight flickered on the wooden floor.

Everyone was panting.

After a life-or-death struggle, even wearing many layers of clothing couldn't keep the body warm, and now the body was covered in sweat.

"Damn it!" A burly man, as strong as a horse, grabbed the man who had been frightened by the kettle earlier.

He forcefully pressed the man onto the table and chair, ignoring the tavern owner Della's shrill yet authoritative voice, and chopped down with an axe.

The firelight gave the axe blade a golden edge, which quickly turned blood red.

He was beheaded.

Its head rolled off the floor with a crisp, rolling sound, all the way to the front door, where it stopped at the toes of a group of people.

Della's still-colored brown eyes seemed to be spitting fire...

etc.

A group of people?

Before anyone could even relax, their internal organs tensed up again!

Leading the way was a child wrapped up tightly. He looked down at the head next to his feet, kicked it, and a happy smile appeared on his rosy face.

Everyone held their breath.

"The water's boiling," a child who had been playing intently suddenly looked up. "Isn't anyone going to check on it?"

On the fireplace, dozens of kettles boiled simultaneously, emitting a shrill, explosive sound.
