"Watch out! The target ('Hamburger') is watching us!" both sides shouted simultaneously.
The intensity of the battle instantly dropped by more than half, turning from a childish water fight and reckless behavior into a real gun battle—people started dodging gun barrels and avoiding bullets!
The ferry restarted, and the salty sea breeze occasionally lashed against Kujo Miki's face, causing her black hair to fly.
The sea is like a gemstone, cut by the ferry. The white waves clinging to the hull are the powder and debris produced during the cutting process.
With a thunderous roar, the Tiger attack helicopter moved again.
It swooped in, circling without warning, and bullets pierced the seawater with a "rat-a-tat-tat" sound. When they hit the ship, sparks flew everywhere.
"Speed up!" the security captain roared.
The ferry continued its journey amidst a hail of bullets.
The eastern side, which had already been subjected to a round of bombardment, was now beginning to emit black smoke.
On this vast, boundless blue sea, a lone ship belches black smoke, like a simple ink painting.
"Damn it!" the witch in the vest cursed, ceasing her firing.
She knew nothing about the planet's technology and had no idea how to make the ferry lose power without it exploding and sinking.
"If only we had a poison gas bomb," said the child in the passenger seat. "Ugh, the ocean is so boring. I'm getting tired of it too. I want to go to the city and slaughter people."
"Witch, behemoth, retreat." A neutral voice came through the extremely outdated communication equipment.
The witch raised an eyebrow: "Are you sure?"
“Confirmed,” the neutral voice replied. “The ocean is not our battlefield, and you are running low on oil and electricity. Let them return to land and enter the steel jungle; that is my territory.”
"You're the boss, we'll listen to you." The Tiger attack helicopter climbed to a higher altitude, followed closely by the drone, creating a spectacular scene.
The motorboat also left.
Little Martial Saint and the others didn't know why, but Yaochi had given an order forbidding them from rashly contacting "Hamburger".
From the perspective of a young lady of high birth, if a group of strangers suddenly came to her door at the moment of assassination, even if she didn't kill them directly, she would lock them up for a period of time and release them only after confirming that there was no danger.
Whether they are killed or imprisoned, it is not what they want.
The right thing to do is to stay out of the spotlight and quietly support her.
"The enemy is gone?" Shizuru stared at the departing helicopter, puzzled.
Kujo Miki couldn't understand the intricacies either, but it didn't matter; as long as she survived, she would figure it out sooner or later.
"Continue sailing toward England. Thoroughly search the ship, inside and out, leave no corner unchecked, not even the smallest one!" she ordered, putting down her binoculars.
"yes!"
“Contact my mother…” Kujo Miki remained silent. Could the other party’s sudden departure be related to this?
Was her mother the real target, not her? Does the fact that the other party retreated mean they had succeeded?
Miki Kujo personally contacted Maki Kujo, who was in Tokyo.
"Oh dear, my daughter misses me? How's your trip to Germany? Don't forget to come back soon, school starts soon."
Um?
Did they not realize their daughter was missing at all?
Did the other party use methods to spoof her signals and maintain contact with Japan?
“I’m on the ferry to England, Mother. Could you please arrange a plane for me?” said Miki Kujo.
"Okay, how about I arrange for you and Xiaolin to be in the same class?"
Kujo Miki hung up the phone immediately.
She told Shizuru, "Once you get to England, buy two plane tickets using a different identity. Remember, try to avoid using the internet as much as possible; the other party has hackers."
"yes!"
Kujo Miki does not intend to take the plane arranged by her mother.
My mother knew too.
There were no secret codes between the mother and daughter, but the mother, being as clever as she was, could understand what her daughter wanted to convey through a brief conversation without needing any codes.
First, something is wrong with her here, but she's safe for now;
Second, someone was eavesdropping on their calls;
Third, the target might be Maki herself, so don't divert too many people to rescue your daughter, as this would lower your own security level.
The ferry traveled for a while, but finally succumbed to its injuries and stopped operating.
"Miss, the submarine has been inspected and there are no problems," the security captain reported.
Kujo Miki crossed her legs, rested her left hand on her temple, and remained silent, lost in thought.
She was always wary of the enemy's sudden departure, and therefore, she was also uneasy about the submarine.
"Sizzle~ Sizzle~"
The security captain's walkie-talkie crackled to life.
"Captain, unidentified vessel spotted!"
Shizuru's eyes pierced the walkie-talkie like daggers, but Kujo Miki remained unfazed.
The security captain said in a deep voice, "Ascertain the other party's identity and be on high alert!"
"yes!"
Kujo Miki placed her right hand on her knee, her slender fingers tapping lightly. She wore jeans, and her legs were straight and long.
After a while, the walkie-talkie rang again.
"Captain! It's just a yacht belonging to ordinary tourists!"
"Confirming again!"
"Second confirmation complete. It's a yacht owned by ordinary tourists, all young women, some Asian and some European, who are traveling on their own yachts!"
"Signaling? Forget it, just yell for help. Remember to put your guns away and act like honest guys!"
"yes!"
Everyone breathed a sigh of relief, not because they were saved, but because they were not enemies.
Our ferry had just stopped when someone came to rescue us? What a coincidence!
Kujo Miki didn’t believe it.
She stood up: "Obey my orders, fire at any time."
The security captain and Shizuru didn't know the reason, but they obeyed Kujo Miki's orders without needing a reason. Not to mention at sea, even in an orderly city, they would still fire if she gave the order.
