Li Changzhou searched him again.
Apart from the "Bee-type Stinger Crossbow" on his arm, there was nothing else.
How could 'Invincible Wind and Fire Wheels', which has no crossbow skills, still manage to hit Zheng Qing from such a distance?
Is it her own talent? Like him, she has the appearance of a male protagonist and the unwavering will of a warrior?
"Ah!" Li Changzhou put his hand on his waist, looking pained.
Once the mind is distracted, pain takes over again.
Back on the hill, Zheng Qing, who had been kicked by him, was unharmed. Instead, she asked him, "Are you hurt? I know how to do simple bandaging; I can help you."
“Him,” that annoying Li Qianxia said again, “he’s indulging in excessive sexual activity.”
"Forget that lust is a knife above one's head," Yang Qinglan also said.
"Yes, yes, yes, I have an ailment, I am lustful." Li Changzhou bent down, and the two laughing girls helped Zheng Qing onto his back.
Li Qianxia asked with a hint of worry, "Are you alright? If you're tired, I'll carry you for a while."
“You can carry me on your back later, I don’t want to walk,” Li Changzhou offered her another option.
Li Qianxia flicked his buttocks like she was herding a donkey.
Bending over, as if carrying a huge burlap sack, it was a great difficulty to finally reach the sand ridge.
No one spoke a word; no one had the mind or energy to talk. They walked intermittently for more than twenty minutes before finally reaching the canyon that could be seen from the sand ridge.
Upon reaching the cliff face of the canyon, Li Changzhou eagerly put Zheng Qing down, straightened his back, and let out a long sigh of relief.
Happiness is relative; he now finds it surprisingly pleasant to be standing in the desert like this.
“There’s no one down there.” Yang Qinglan withdrew her gaze from the canyon. “But we still need to be careful; animals might be hiding in crevices or corners.”
"How do we get down?" Li Qianxia peered into the four-meter-deep canyon.
The cliff face is very straight, but due to the wind and sand, it's not really impossible to find a foothold.
“I’ll go down first,” Li Changzhou said. “With me down here, even if you fall, you don’t have to worry about anything happening to you.”
"You know the Great Shift of Heaven and Earth?" Li Qianxia immediately asked.
"I didn't expect you to have such high expectations of me. I'm sorry, but I just had my old habit of trying to take advantage of you and be your human cushion."
"I'll teach you a way to mitigate the impact of jumping from a height," Zheng Qing said in a drill instructor's tone. "It's very simple. When you land, keep your legs together and bend your knees slightly. When you land, roll to the side to distribute the impact force to your legs and back."
Li Qianxia tilted her head, imagining what kind of landing posture it would be.
Li Changzhou was already like a dung beetle, heading down the cliff step by step with his back to it.
"Brother, are you alright?" Li Qianxia asked from upstairs.
"It's a bit strenuous, but I can still hold on!" Li Changzhou took a deep breath and only let go after confirming that his feet were firmly planted.
For a special forces soldier like Zheng Qing, this cliff face could probably be dredged down in no time.
But for a female college student like Yang Qinglan who has fully developed her perception, it might take a bit of courage.
Ms. Yang's courage is beyond question; although she was a little slow, she made it down smoothly.
When it was Zheng Qing's turn, who couldn't walk, Li Qianxia first lowered her down slowly like a rope. When Zheng Qing managed to hold onto the cliff face with her own hands, she let go on her own.
He rolled on his back in the canyon, and that was it.
It might hurt a little, but she has a high pain tolerance and an instinct for "10% pain exemption," so she's even more nonchalant about it.
Li Qianxia, who is agile, swiftly made her move as easily as going down the stairs.
Yang Qinglan plans to improve her agility next time, so as not to hold her back in harsh environments.
After they all came down, the four of them carefully searched along the valley and soon found the water seeping from the cliff.
A small dam was built with damp soil, and soon a handful of water accumulated.
"The water looks murky on the surface, but it's filtered through the rock layers and is cleaner than the water in the city. You can drink it directly." Zheng Qing was practically a desert encyclopedia.
No wonder they're special forces soldiers.
"Ladies first." Li Changzhou looked at Yang Qinglan.
She was in the worst physical condition here.
"You drink first," Yang Qinglan said, wiping the sweat from her forehead with her arm. "You're carrying someone on your back, so you're expending the most energy."
"Still talking about these things?" Li Changzhou chuckled.
"Qinglan, you drink first. My brother wants to drink the one you drank from," Li Qianxia whispered.
"?"
"Is that so? Okay, let's consider it a reward for him." Yang Qinglan nodded as if she understood.
"???" Li Changzhou was utterly bewildered. "Where exactly did this misunderstanding go? Why do you all think of me as such a pervert?"
“You guys have a great relationship,” Zheng Qing remarked. “A good relationship between teammates is more important than anything else.”
It sounds like there's a story behind it, but Li Changzhou isn't interested in other people's stories.
Yang Qinglan walked towards the puddle, cupped her hands in her palms, and slowly brought them together in the puddle, like the two halves of a crescent-shaped boat.
With the shade overhead and water in front of her, Li Qianxia felt a little better and said, "Brother, did you see that? Just now, that snake suddenly—"
Yang Qinglan's body was suddenly pulled backward.
Li Qianxia turned around in fright, her movements very slow;
Zheng Qing, who was about to check her knee injury, looked up, her eyebrows slowly furrowing and her eyes becoming sharp.
Yang Qinglan's sneakers plowed two shallow furrows in the ground, sending pebbles flying.
She sprinkled the water she held in her hands into the air, and a drop flew out of the cool canyon, turning into a white pearl of light under the blazing sun.
"Controlling dopamine"
Forced rationality.
Li Changzhou couldn't tell whether he had activated it voluntarily or was frightened into doing so.
