Yaochi tugged at Li Changzhou.
Li Changzhou bowed to the swan, then turned and followed Yaochi into the carriage. Inside the carriage, Yang Qinglan and Li Qianxia were already waiting in the council hall.
"What's going on outside?" Li Qianxia asked hurriedly.
Li Changzhou recounted the situation and then asked, "I wonder who leaked the news... the White Snake and the Green Snake?"
Only these two could guess their purpose.
“These people may not be wary of us,” Yaochi said, pacing back and forth. “Do you think Guanyin, as an earth immortal, would go to such lengths for four human immortals?”
"Are there other people who want to touch her Bodhisattva position?" Li Changzhou asked.
“Since this is a battle between Buddhism and Taoism, even if others go to kill other Bodhisattvas and Arhats, Guanyin Bodhisattva, as one of the Four Great Bodhisattvas, shouldn't be just a few of us. Perhaps—”
Yaochi raised her head and looked at the three of them: "We also have Earth Immortals here."
Dong Dong Dong
All four of them fell silent and looked toward the carriage door.
Yaochi glanced at Li Changzhou, who nodded, and the carriage door opened.
"This carriage is quite a treasure."
"What treasure? You have no eyes! This is clearly a spell."
Three women entered, all of them very beautiful. The one in the lead was especially graceful and beautiful, with two small dragon horns on her forehead.
“Look at you,” the striking young woman said proudly to the two behind her, “I told you that immortals would come to our aid, but you wouldn’t believe me. Guanyin Bodhisattva saves all living beings. Now that we are in trouble, what’s a few immortals?”
The two people behind her quickly pulled her back and whispered, "Dragon Girl, there are four of them here, and they're not just ordinary immortals!"
The Dragon Girl glanced at Li Changzhou and the others and said, "Isn't this even better?"
She walked over, gracefully clasped her hands in greeting, and said, "I am the Dragon Girl under Guanyin's command. May I ask who you are?"
“I cultivate on Mount Gushe in the East Sea.” Yang Qinglan, the only righteous person, stepped forward.
"The Goddess of Gushe?!" All three were taken aback.
The three carefully examined her attire. She wore a white silk dress, her skin was as white as snow, her temperament was pure and elegant, and she had a heavenly beauty. She held a jade ruyi in her arms. She was indeed the legendary goddess of Gusha.
Even the art of transformation probably couldn't produce such an outstanding appearance.
They all looked somewhat envious.
“But,” one of the women in green asked curiously, “isn’t the Goddess of Gusha a Taoist fairy? Why would she come to help us?”
Yang Qinglan smiled slightly and said, "I am neither a Taoist nor a Buddhist. It's just that one of my younger sisters was enlightened by Guanyin, and another sister was poisoned by snake venom. That's why I came to the South China Sea, both to help and to ask for help."
With a wave of her Ruyi, the door to Bai Suzhen and Xiaoqing's room opened.
Li Changzhou stood closer to the two snakes than anyone else, his back to the crowd, and transmitted his voice to them.
"Lady White Snake, you heard what we said. Please cooperate with us. You don't want anything to happen to your sister, do you?"
—Xiaoqing, if you dare to say another word, I'll have the king cobra swallow you whole from head to toe.
"Both of you don't look too well. Which one of you is injured?" the Dragon Girl asked curiously.
"Bai Suzhen greets the Dragon Girl." Bai Suzhen quickly gave a deep bow. "This is my younger sister, Xiaoqing. She... a few days ago, she was unfortunately poisoned by a demon. She suffers excruciating pain every day when the poison flares up."
The Dragon Girl stepped forward and grabbed Xiaoqing's wrist, while Bai Suzhen looked at her with hopeful eyes.
"What potent poisons!" The Dragon Girl's expression turned grave. "There are probably tens of thousands of types, and each type is interconnected and mutually restraining. Any single antidote will not only fail to cure the poison but will actually worsen its toxicity."
“Yes, this person is so cruel.” Li Changzhou sighed. “Does the Dragon Girl have a way to cure the poison? Xiaoqing and I have been friends for hundreds of years. As long as she can be cured, I, Li, am willing to go through fire and water.”
Xiaoqing wished she could whip him to death with her tail.
You'd go through fire and water for the poison your mother gave you!
The Dragon Girl pondered for a moment and said, "Although this poison is difficult to cure, I do have two methods."
"Oh?" Li Changzhou stepped forward.
Bai Suzhen's heart raced. The distance between the Dragon Girl and Li Changzhou was close enough for her to launch a sneak attack.
“First is the Dragon Pearl,” the Dragon Girl said. “The Dragon Clan rules over all the water systems in the world. The Dragon Pearl has the ability to purify all things. Although this poison is powerful, it is no match for the Dragon Pearl. However… although I am a dragon, I cultivate Buddhism. Without the Dragon Pearl, I can only wait until I reach the South Sea and ask the Dragon King of the South Sea for help.”
"The Dragon King of the South Sea is always stingy, and the Dragon Pearl is the lifeblood and magic power of the dragon race. Would he be willing to help?" the woman in green asked.
“Difficult.” The Dragon Girl shook her head. “There is a second method, which is Guanyin Bodhisattva’s Mango Branch Dew. This is simple. Guanyin Bodhisattva saves people from suffering. Although Mango Branch Dew is precious, the Bodhisattva will certainly not be stingy with it.”
"That's good." Li Changzhou breathed a sigh of relief. "Miss Dragon Girl, please put in a good word for me with Guanyin Bodhisattva later."
“As long as you, my sister, do not do evil and are devoted to doing good, why would you need me to speak well of you? If you usually do bad things, even if I speak well of you, it will be useless.”
"We siblings cultivate on Mount Qingcheng, neither doing evil nor good?" Li Changzhou asked cautiously.
“That’s good. Never mind, I’m not going to talk to you anymore. I have to go and guide the way. We’re almost at the South China Sea Stormy Cliff. Without me to guide them, those people won’t be able to get through.”
The three of them left in a hurry.
"Now that someone is leading the way, can you let us go?" Xiaoqing glared at Li Changzhou.
"Once you're cured, you can go wherever you want." Li Changzhou didn't look at her, pondering his conversation with the Dragon Girl.
