"Mr. Edison, he—"
“He went to New York to discuss starting an electric light company at the end of the year,” Li Changzhou told Mary.
Mary was Edison's first wife. The two married in 1871, and shortly after, on the evening of August 9, 1884, Mary died of illness.
In fact, starting from now (1880), Mary's health would deteriorate, and historical records show that she was often unable to get out of bed due to illness.
"Going to New York now?" asked Mary's sister, Alice.
“Yes.” Li Changzhou looked at the two of them and repeated, “Edison went to New York, didn’t he?”
"Honestly, why didn't they say goodbye before leaving, and why did they leave in such a hurry?" Alice complained.
She and her sister Mary quickly accepted this explanation with the help of hypnosis.
Li Changzhou glanced at Alice again. Her English phrasing was a bit strange, but perhaps he was just imagining things; maybe she was just a sensitive woman.
“Then I will arrange accommodations for you, Mr. Zhou.” Mary said politely.
"Okay, thank you." Li Changzhou returned the bow.
He decided to use Mary as a test subject.
Edison is about to become a vampire, and Mary, as his wife, should go and keep him company. They should hide in the cellar together during the day and come out at night to drink human blood and live a long life together.
It can also cure diseases.
It's also possible to be directly poisoned by the vampire virus, but that way you won't have to endure four years of suffering from the disease.
Li Changzhou felt that he was an angel, not a vampire.
Of course, all of this is only a temporary reality. After the players leave, history will revert to its original state, and Mary will continue to fight her illness for four years, passing away on the evening of August 9, 1884.
On February 24, 1886, Edison married Mayna Miller, who was twenty years his junior—his second wife was only sixteen at the time.
Mary and Alice walked in front, with Li Changzhou and Bi following behind. The king cobra emerged from the void, its breath subdued, silently flicking its tongue.
Bang!
Mary and Alice both fainted and fell to the ground.
"What are you doing?" Bi asked Li Changzhou, puzzled.
"My desire to experiment was also ignited in Edison's laboratory."
"You—" Bi looked at her sisters lying on the ground in disbelief, "...slept with them?!"
"...I should have added the word 'experiment' before 'desire'."
"Yes, didn't you want to test whether your sexual ability has been enhanced?"
"Oh, right, that's right." Li Changzhou recalled his speculation on the train.
"No, no!" Bi suddenly shook her head. "You've never tried it before, how do you know if you've become stronger?"
She thought she was very clever to have thought of that.
"Oh, right, there was such a thing." Li Changzhou still had an expression of 'suddenly remembered'.
"Are you kidding me?" Bi's expression turned fierce.
Li Changzhou's gaze fell upon the king cobra. The next question was how to get it to acquire the vampire virus—if vampires were a virus.
Anyway, give it a try first.
He rolled up his right sleeve, revealing his muscular forearm, where the king cobra had its bite.
Copy everything that can be classified as poison.
Three seconds later, the king cobra released its grip, twisted its body, hissed, and swam toward the twin sisters lying on the ground.
Peng!
Smoke exploded on Alice.
Li Changzhou narrowed his eyes slightly, his gaze piercing through the smoke, and saw that Alice's clothes contained only a piece of wood.
Substitution Technique?
With her right index and middle fingers joined together, Bi hooked them backward, and Alice, who was leaping up and trying to jump out of the window, flew back.
Bi pressed her palm against the right wall again.
With a thud, dust sprayed out, and "Alice" was pressed against the wall by an invisible force.
As expected of an A-level instinct, handsome and versatile.
Li Changzhou looked at "Alice," who was now wearing a black ninja outfit, her hair was turning black, her features were softening, and her figure was becoming slender.
Japanese players?
"What is your mission?" Li Changzhou asked.
"Wait!" Bi suddenly called out, looking up at Li Changzhou and asking, "Why do I look like a servant?"
"Not now—"
Peng!
Smoke exploded again on "Alice's" body, and a piece of wood was pressed against the wall by telekinesis.
Bi immediately looked around, but this time she couldn't find the other person.
"Where did they go?" she asked instinctively.
"Since there's a substitution technique, there must also be a transformation technique. Try crushing that piece of wood first—"
"Wait a minute!" With another bang, the wooden figure pressed against the wall transformed back into "Alice".
"It really is there!" Bi was amazed, then felt embarrassed, and snorted defiantly, "What a little trick!"
“My mission is to protect Mary,” the female ninja quickly said.
"Protect Mary?" Li Changzhou asked, puzzled.
Edison invented many things, which can be considered a major historical event, but was it necessary for Mary to protect him?
“Yes,” the female ninja said. “When Edison turned into a vampire, he needed a lot of human blood, and Mary was the one who provided the blood.”
So, this might be why Mary fell ill around this time in history.
Edison's second wife was also a sixteen-year-old girl, and according to legend, vampires have a strong preference for the blood of young girls. Li Changzhou did not know much about vampires and could not confirm whether it was true or not, but he did think that a 16-year-old girl was better than a woman of other ages.
