Each of the three was surrounded by a wisp of immortal light. Li Changzhou glanced at them again, and his gaze pierced through the immortal light to see the true form—an immortal sword.
"You scoundrel, how dare you set foot on the River Eye Plain and lay your hands on the River Eye of the Heavenly River! Kneel down and accept your death!" shouted the younger male disciple.
The female disciple had the same expression; the immortal sword could fall at any moment, beheading her.
The third-class immortal was calm and collected, not taking Li Changzhou seriously at all. The fish basket that the other party treated with such care was annihilated by his sword. How could he possibly think highly of the other party?
Concentrating his senses, Li Changzhou found his body completely empty—the properties of the black mist magic were only... somewhat interesting to the physical body.
Nevertheless, he stopped his junior brother who wanted to attack directly, stepped forward, and looked down at Li Changzhou.
"I am a disciple of the Great Emperor Taiyi Jiuku Tianzun of the Eastern Pole of Qinghua. Who are you, daring to steal the things of the Heavenly Venerable?" The Third-Rank Immortal's calm tone carried a sharp edge.
Li Changzhou, who was about to kill them with a sneeze, stopped after hearing their self-introduction.
The saying "If you beat the young, the old will come" has already been proven by the Great King of Inspiration and Guanyin Bodhisattva.
"Greetings, fellow Daoists," he said, bowing. "I am a disciple of Penglai. I was passing by the Tongtian River. Since it was my first time leaving Penglai and I was unfamiliar with the world, I went upstream. When I arrived at the river's eye, I saw that it was under the jurisdiction of Taiyi Jiuku Tianzun, so I quickly left. Please forgive me if I have offended you."
The female disciple glanced at Li Changzhou and found him to be very handsome, with a dashing demeanor and a captivating charm in his eyes.
Upon hearing that Li Changzhou was a disciple of Penglai Sect of the Three Immortal Islands, the male disciple tempered his temper somewhat, after all, they were all orthodox immortals.
Even the third-class immortals abandoned their murderous intent.
Although Fu Lu Shou were not celestial beings, the three of them were not true disciples of the Qinghua Emperor either.
The so-called "disciple of the Great Emperor of the Eastern Pole, Qinghua, Taiyi Jiuku Tianzun" is actually a lineage established in the mortal world by an inner disciple of the Great Emperor of Qinghua. None of these people have ever seen the face of the Heavenly Venerable.
—Emotional control
"Since it was all a misunderstanding, let's leave it at that. Fellow Daoist, you must not go to the River Eye Plain again, or don't blame us for disregarding our camaraderie." said the Third-Rank Immortal.
"Thank you, fellow Daoist," Li Changzhou said quickly.
"Junior brothers and sisters, let's go." The third-class immortal raised his sword and shot upstream.
The female disciple glanced at Li Changzhou with some reluctance before leaving with another disciple.
You handled this matter well. Acting impulsively would only have gotten you into endless trouble.
There is more than one way to solve a problem.
Li Changzhou didn't take this trivial matter to heart. In his eyes, these three were just children, and teasing them was as easy as playing around.
If the other party doesn't "appreciate" the gesture and doesn't obediently submit to the control of emotions, then they can only stay, either to die or to fight Sun Wukong with him.
[What happened to 'Guanyin'?] He looked up at the sky.
[Based on my guess, everything should be alright.] Guanyin knew herself very well; this was one of the merits she had accumulated in order to ascend to the heavenly throne.
Most people can't control their thoughts; they might recall ghost stories they've read in the middle of the night, or have a song they've heard before playing in their head during an exam. But a Bodhisattva can control that.
Most people don't understand themselves and can't be sure what choices they will make in a certain situation. They don't understand their own abilities and are unsure if they can control their temper. Bodhisattvas understand and can control themselves.
These are the merits and deeds.
Heavenly Palace.
Guanyin paused for a moment, then smiled gently and said to the Queen Mother, "My basket was broken by a disciple of the Taiyi Jiuku Tianzun."
The Queen Mother laughed and said, "Those who steal chickens and dogs should be punished by everyone, but the Bodhisattva is suspicious."
Although the Great Emperor Qinghua was a celestial being, in terms of status, he was about the same as Guanyin Bodhisattva, because the Buddha Tathagata was very strong, extremely strong, and ordinary celestial beings could not even lift a single finger of the Buddha Tathagata.
The heavenly position that Guanyin wanted to sit in was different from that of the Qinghua Emperor, which is why she was unable to become a celestial being for so long.
"This time, I have lost," Guanyin said with a smile.
The Queen Mother smiled slightly and said nothing. Guanyin's abilities needed no proof, and the peaches held little appeal for her—she had attended the Peach Banquet countless times.
She turned to look at the group of immortals: "Let's continue."
The female immortals present racked their brains, and a day later, the Queen Mother announced the end of the first trial, with a total of 3,600 female immortals passing through.
"Please announce the second challenge, Your Majesty," the Weaver Girl said with a smile.
"This second trial," the Queen Mother said with a smile, "invites you into the 'Map of Mountains and Rivers,' where each of you will be placed in a different realm. If you can emerge from there, you've passed the test."
With a flick of her magnificent sleeves, embroidered with the sun, moon, mountains, and rivers, the Heavenly Empress unfurled a scroll-like map of mountains and rivers above the Jade Pool.
The "Landscape of Mountains and Rivers" is a simple landscape painting.
After taking a closer look, Li Qianxia realized that the brushstrokes depicting these mountains and rivers were actually stars.
The Flower Fairy, along with a few other flower fairies such as Peony and Peony, entered the painting first. Only after almost all 3,600 female fairies had entered did Yang Qinglan and the others set off.
Upon entering the Map of the State, Yang Qinglan lost all her magical powers, but a strange power emanated from within her.
It's similar to a value-based game instance, where abilities are transformed into another kind of power.
She raised her hand and gently flicked it, as if turning the progress bar of a video, and the broken cup at her feet automatically restored itself.
It's an amazing power.
A broken mirror is hard to mend; in the system of magic, this simple matter completely violates the rules of nature.
"What happened?" A burly woman in armor walked over.
"It's nothing." Yang Qinglan glanced at the other person.
The burly woman stared at her for a moment, then turned and left. She spoke into something that looked like a communicator: "The witch's magic might be out of control. Get me a demon-slaying sword. I'm coming to get it now."
