Chapter 53 Chapter 53 I don’t know if I can find it, but…

I don’t know if I can find it, which means it may not exist.

Bai Tianming said this in the hope that any unrealistic thoughts the priest might have would be dispelled by his words. However, after hearing this, the priest became thoughtful and murmured, "Perhaps it's a flower that has already become extinct, or perhaps it's a flower that hasn't appeared yet?"

He was like a mountaineering enthusiast who had discovered an unreached peak. He found it interesting and challenging, and instead became even more interested. He smiled slowly and said, "Interesting."

Bai Tianming was curious and puzzled, so he asked, "What do you want this for?"

The priest tilted his head, his eyes closed, seemingly still visible. He faced Bai Tianming and said, "If this doesn't exist, I will find a way to make it exist to prove my loyalty and my oath. If this does exist, I will give it to you, just as I once gave the selected land to the Mother of the Black Goats."

"But," Bai Tianming hesitated. He knew that rejecting the priest's offer would be a blow to him, but he didn't doubt his loyalty or his vows, so he didn't really need the priest's testimony. He said, "The Black Goat Mother asked you to do this. I didn't ask for this, so you don't have to do it."

The priest smiled, then seemed momentarily discouraged. "I know, but I want to do this," he said. He paused, then added, "I hope you like my new eyes."

Bai Tianming looked at him with some doubts, and said bewilderedly: "How can I like you? Aren't all eyes the same? I don't think there's anything wrong with your eyes."

"But I don't want to be like others," the priest said seriously. "I don't want you to think of someone else when you see my eyes, and I don't want others to see my eyes and misunderstand who I am loyal to."

Bai Tianming thought about it and decided it wasn't that he couldn't understand. It was true that being similar to others would make one lack uniqueness, and being misunderstood wasn't a good thing either. So he said, "Okay."

He paused, still worried, frowned slightly, and added in a warning, "No matter what your eyes look like, I believe in your oath and loyalty. You are more important than a non-existent flower."

Hearing these words, the priest felt as if a thirsty man trapped in the desert for three days and three nights had found water as clear as diamonds. He smiled slowly and said, "As long as you believe in me, even if I die, I will be grateful."

Bai Tianming felt that he couldn't persuade him, so he gave him a defensive formation and let him do what he wanted. After all, he was not weak and would not be defenseless when encountering danger, so there was no need to worry too much.

The sky gradually brightened.

Bai Tianming came back to his senses from his memories. The window had been open all night and was covered with a layer of fine water droplets, as if it had suddenly been immersed in a thick fog and had just been pulled out, and it was still blurry.

The sun emerged from the clouds, and the sunlight jumped out in the blink of an eye. The clouds were dyed with distinct layers of orange-red, as if biting into a white glutinous rice ball and finding a fresh, whole shrimp hidden inside.

Bai Tianming reached out and closed the window again, stood up, stretched, pushed the chair against the table, walked to the door, opened it, and walked out slowly.

The door next to him opened, and Sada walked out. He looked at Bai Tianming, who was standing at the door, with a hint of curiosity. He blinked his sleepy eyes and asked him, "What are you looking at?"

Bai Tianming took his eyes off the ground and smiled at him: "The sun is shining brightly today."

Bai Tianming pointed to the ground he was looking at and said to Sada, "Look at the sun here. Doesn't it look like a pancake? It's golden, warm, and round. It must be delicious."

Sada was slightly startled, feeling a bit amused and helpless: "Are you hungry?"

Bai Tianming turned around and closed the door, shook his head, and replied: "No, I just admired the scenery and thought of it as a wake-up call."

"So do you want to have breakfast first and then go up the mountain, or go up the mountain first and then have breakfast?" Sada stood at the door of his room and asked Bai Tianming.

"Let's go up the mountain first," Bai Tianming walked towards the quiet utility room, "I'm not in a hurry to eat."

Sadah nodded: "Okay, I want to go with you, is that okay?"

Bai Tianming opened the door to the utility room and asked, "Didn't you go there yesterday? Do you want to go again today? I thought you would prefer to stay in your room, sit at the table, and take care of your business."

Then, Bai Tianming suddenly realized that there seemed to be someone inside. He was startled and stepped back. When he looked carefully, he found that it was Boaz, whom Nanpu had settled yesterday. He breathed a sigh of relief, walked in expressionlessly, picked up the backpack, put all the things he needed in it, and turned to leave.

Sadah noticed that Bai Tianming seemed frightened. He glanced into the utility room and saw Boaz lying motionless inside. He walked over to Bai Tianming and said, "My business is not urgent. I want to go with you. Didn't you go there yesterday? Since you are going today, I want to go too."

Boaz was sleeping, but when Day Ming opened the door, the sunlight from outside rushed in like water, burying him.

He suddenly felt as if he was soaking in a hot spring pool where he couldn't open his eyes. His whole body was so hot that he couldn't breathe. He shuddered slightly, suddenly opened his eyes, and woke up.

After waking up, he was stunned for a moment before he heard footsteps. At this time, Bai Tianming was already planning to leave and was about to close the door. The footsteps were not heavy and had no intention of waking him up.

But he suddenly turned his head and looked at Bai Tianming who was standing at the door. The door was about to close, and he shouted loudly: "Don't close it!"

Bai Tianming paused as he was holding the door, looked at him, and asked with some confusion, "Do you want to sunbathe?"

"No," Boaz said softly. The sun flashed past his eyes, dyeing his eyelashes golden. He blinked and replied, "It's better to keep the door open for ventilation."

Bai Tianming smiled and said, "It's not suitable for the things in the utility room to be exposed to the sun, so if you want to ventilate it, I can only leave the door ajar and leave a gap for you. Do you want it? If not, I will close the door completely."

Boaz thought about it, and for some reason he said, “If you close all the doors, I’ll just wallow in there and mess everything up.”

Bai Tianming closed the door slightly, and only half of his face was exposed at the doorway, looking at him. At this time, the sunlight had been blocked, and Boaz's face was hidden in the shadows. His eyes were dark and his pupils were deep. He looked very tired and sharp, and he lowered his eyes, making it difficult to see what he was thinking.

Bai Tianming looked at him and said with a half-smile, "You messed up the things in there, but I'm not the one to clean them up anyway. Go ahead and leave. I don't care. If someone gets impatient because of something, someone else will naturally deal with you. After you leave, just bear with it. I won't care."

Boaz raised his eyes and wanted to say something, but Bai Tianming had already closed the door, but not completely. As he had said before, he left a small gap for him to ventilate, so it was ajar, that's all.

Boaz swallowed what he was about to say.

Sadah looked at Bai Tianming and asked again, "Can't I go?"

Bai Tianming casually checked the contents of the backpack, confirming that he had taken everything correctly and that there was nothing missing or too much. He then replied, "Could you take care of the guests for me?"

Bai Tianming raised his head, looked at Sada and smiled, "We can't really let him roll around in there."

Sadah thought about it and sighed: "Okay."

Bai Tianming patted Sada's shoulder, with a smile in his eyes, and entrusted him with an important task, saying, "I leave it to you."

Sadah nodded. "There's still no news about the demons and ghosts that went out earlier, and he admitted that he has something to do with them. I'll ask about them."

"Okay." Bai Tianming replied.

Bai Tianming carried the backpack and the things inside up the mountain and found the flower field which had expanded a lot compared to the original one. After checking it all, the sun had completely emerged from the clouds.

Suddenly, a puppy's whimpering sound was heard not far away. Bai Tianming looked up and saw that the sun was suddenly very hot. A white dog with black wings came jumping towards him.

There was a red rope around the dog's neck, the same rope that had been put on it before Bai Tianming. A man followed behind the dog, his face calm as he slowly walked towards them, holding the back half of the rope in his hand, casting a long black shadow in the sunlight.

The white dog barked and jumped around in the air, even trying to flap its black wings behind it, as if it was about to fly. Some white mist rose around it, as if it was too excited and could not hide its true form.

Bai Tianming took two steps forward and approached the dog. The dog suddenly jumped from the ground, kicked its legs, and dived into Bai Tianming's arms. It flapped its wings so hard that the wings made a flapping sound, which sounded like a group of moths flying over.

Bai Tianming squinted his eyes and took a closer look. It turned out that the dog was a puppy, and the person following behind was Nanpu. Nanpu stopped not far away, holding a rope in his hand, and said he was here to walk the dog.

"Do you take the dog for a walk every morning?" Bai Tianming asked while holding the dog.

"Almost," Nan Pu replied. He then handed the rope to Bai Tianming like he was handing him candy, asking, "Do you want one?"

"No," Bai Tianming quickly shook his head and put the dog down from his arms. "Thank you."

The dog was lying on the ground, looking up at Bai Tianming, barking and jumping around, looking very enthusiastic and lively, with its wings on its back still flapping hard, creating a breeze.

Bai Tianming looked at the puppy and asked, "Did your wings grow from watching demons?"

The puppy lowered its head and barked and whined. Suddenly, a mouth appeared on its back, like two hard shells buckled together. While grinding into fine powder, an incomprehensible, dizzying and tinnitus-inducing buzzing sound came out. The puppy said: Yes.

Bai Tianming looked at the puppy calmly and nodded: "It's pretty good-looking."
